Rule number one: Only offer advice to people who ask for it. Has your mum asked for your help?

I had lost a significant amount of weight before, and then gained it back (as most people do...). I had gone from about 400 lbs to 260ish lbs, and then back up to 370 lbs. The main reason I decided to make changes in order to lose weight was because I didn't feel very good, physically. My heart pounded, my knees ached, and…

Pole is my favourite fitness type class, but that's not actually at my gym. Body Pump is my favourite gym class. :)

This is a bit more labour intensive than regular lasagna, but it's totally worth it http://pinchofyum.com/veggie-alfredo-lasagna

I recently had to buy some new trousers for work. I had to get a UK size 12 (size 10 US) because my 14s were getting too big. I literally haven't been this size since I was probably 10 or 11 years old.

Are you using the MFP database for your exercise calories? If you are, it's likely that you're not burning as much as you think, and are probably not in as big a deficit as the site thinks you are. MFP is notorious for wildly exaggerating calories burned through exercise. Before I got my first heart rate monitor, I used…

For me, it was mayo. I've more or less cut it out - I no longer add it to anything myself, but I won't avoid pre-made sandwiches that have mayo on them, for instance. It's worked just fine for me, and I no longer have the desire to add mayo to everything I eat. You're the expert in your own life, OP. Do what works for you…

Five Guys. Loved it. :D

I've been doing pole for about 2 years now, and I'm completely addicted. I've lost about 50 lbs since I started, but that has nothing to do with why I do it. It's all about fun, body positivity, performing, strength, and friends! :)

Steel boned corsets are good. Cheap, poorly constructed, plastic boned corsets are bad. Working out in corsets is neither. It's just stupid.

My workout playlist is mainly: Combichrist, Pantera, Rammstein, The Prodigy, Rage Against the Machine, and Sepultura

I totally avoid it, but that's because I just don't like it. I eat "naughty" food regularly, but I practice moderation and balance it out with other dietary choices, and/or additional workouts. You have to eat like a real person.

When you exercise a lot, your muscles hold on to fluid to repair themselves.

This article seems to break it down fairly well

It's ultimately up to you what happens with your medication. Obviously I don't think you should just ditch it and do whatever you want, but don't be afraid to seek opinions from other doctors just because one has refused your request.

A cup is a standard measure. You can buy measuring cups in the UK.

I'm working on this one for myself right now. I don't think I've totally cracked it, but a couple things work for me - 1. I ask myself, "What am I feeding?" If it's emotional, I try to reflect and get to the bottom of it. If it's work stress, for example, I try to unpick what is stressing me out at work and create a plan…

Saturday and Sunday are generally my "treat days", I guess. At the beginning of my ~weight loss journey~, if you will, I realised that eating at a calorie deficit would be tougher for me on the weekend, so I decided to just go with it - if there were any treats that I wanted, I put them off til the weekend, and ate a bit…

I like Quest Bars and MyProtein High Pro Bars. I use powdered protein as well, but I prefer to eat food than drink a shake and the bars are good for a quick breakfast/snack/whatever between working out in the morning and going to work :)

I've had some knee pain lately and have really been enjoying the elliptical, set to a programme that mimics a series of increasing hills.

I can't take anyone with a chinstrap beard seriously. I'm sorry.

I legit crave vegetables every day - mainly broccoli, tomatoes, and cucumber. I sometimes use steamed broccoli as the base for a salad instead of lettuce and it's incredible. Also, porridge with fruit is one of my favourite foods in the whole wide world

They won't make you fat. There's some research to suggest that the sweet taste can make your brain expect a rush of energy (aka calories), and when it doesn't get it, you start craving sugar to meet that need and can end up eating more. But no, the occasional diet soda won't harm you in any way.

I had a similar experience with someone in a local "for sale" group on Facebook. She was selling some snake oil cleanse system and when I asked about what, exactly, this product cleansed from the body and if she had any peer-reviewed research to back it up, she got so angry and said I was harassing her. She ended up…

I suppose if you want to pick it apart - gaining fat means you're fatter, gaining weight means you're heavier.

I've followed all the advice - my weight loss took 3+ years; I do the strength training; drink plenty of water; moisturise... And I have tons of loose skin. Tons. I've had a surgical consultation, but that route would be expensive and require at least 3 surgeries, carrying all the risks that go along with that. Plus, did…

Totally read that as "twerk things if I have to".

You don't legally need permission to photograph anyone, even children, in public places. On private property, it's up to the property owner.

Sure :) I've lost nearly 200 lbs and I'm currently a UK size 14 (US 12), so pretty average in terms of size (although "overweight" by the good old BMI chart *eyeroll*) . However, I still very, very much identify as a "fat girl". Not in any kind of negative way, just as a description of my appearance. I have been fat since…

I wish I'd been better prepared for the impact of extreme weight loss on my identity.
