  • We cook a lot from scratch. We make our own bread (not from a mix), I make my own pasta sauces. I make my own salsa with fresh veggies. We do make our own pasta from time to time. I hate the way a cake mix tastes, which I hardly bake anymore since I switched to a low carb diet. When making beans, I do prefer to soak them…
  • wow! Great job! you look great!
  • Good job and very encouraging! I was diagnosed with insulin resistance about 6 years ago. I do take medication but my A1C is at a normal level on the last check. I have since lost 33 pounds so I am interested to see what it is now :) Please, please educate yourselves about diet and listen to your doctors! I wish it had not…
  • I was diagnosed with insulin resistance as well, probably when I was 27 or 28. I was in denial for a while about my weight. Please educate yourself about food, calories, exercise, etc. axialmeow is right. Low carb is the way to go, however, I do count calories. You can have carbs, but choose whole grain and carbs from…
  • You could always get a second opinion. The "scales" say I should weigh 150-175. I am 5'10' and a half and I do have a large bone structure. My doctor said 200 would be a good weight for me. I would still be considered overweight by the "scales". You have to do what is right for you and if you think that weight is too low,…
  • I started in a 26/28 at my heaviest and I am now in an 18 top and a 18/20 bottom (depending on make). I have lost 50 pounds so far and I have 107 more to go. I am 5'10" and I have a large bone structure. Wondering what size I will end up after I lose it all :) Keep up the good work everyone!
  • wow! Great job! Keep up the good work :) You look awesome!
  • You look amazing!! Keep up the good work!
  • You look incredible! Congrats and keep up the great work!!
  • congrats and way to do it the right way! You look amazing!!
  • You are not the only one that feels that way. My mom is very overweight. We have tried to talk to her and she will not listen and does not want to help herself. Her father died at 61 and she is now 58. I am very overweight myself. I just wish I had figured alot of things out earlier in my life so I wouldn't have gotten so…
  • I have found that even when it comes time for my cheat meal, I don't want the things I used to want and find myself making better choices.
  • I am doing low carb as well. I tried no carbs before for 2 weeks and lost like 13 pounds but it was very hard to maintain. Keep up the great work!
  • I allow myself one cheat meal per week. I have also cut my carb intake and limit sweets to once or twice per week. I cut my calories down to 1200 and work out 3-5 times a week. I have lost 7 pounds in less than two weeks. I didn't have a problem cutting out processed or fried foods as we rarely eat those anyway.
  • I love green smoothies! I usually will add baby spinach, banana, and some no sugar added frozen fruit (raspberries, or 3 berry blend) or pineapple, mango, strawberry combo. It is awesome! Sometimes I don't put the frozen fruit and just add 1 tbsp. peanut butter. Super yummy! Be careful with the kale if you aren't used to…
  • And way to go to everyone on here and their success!!! Your success helps motivate me to reach my goal!
  • You can do it! Just remember that it didn't all come on over night, so it won't come off overnight. Celebrate every small success!! The scale might not move but are your clothes getting looser? That is always motivation for me. If you make a bad choice one day, do better at the next meal or the next day. I started at 360…
