  • I had been doing Insanity and C25K, but suspended it due to injury a few weeks back. Will hopefully start running up again soon. Already back on week 2 of Insanity. I found that it was better for me to do the workout program and then go running. The workout served as a warmup for the run and got me all stretched out and…
  • Congrats to you, sir! You'll inspire many of us with your accomplishment and your continued success!
  • Not to be rude, but if you didn't find it, you didn't look very hard. This is one of the most common FAQ besides if one should eat exercise calories or not. No other ways besides a good HRM. Good luck.
  • Welcome to MFP! I do not meet a single one of your qualifiers, except for living in the Seattle area. I'm a little north of you, in Lynnwood. You can find some other locals here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/154604-pacific-northwest-peeps-look-here Goodluck with your goals! Even though our profiles don't match,…
  • Beer is healthy, because it's made from hops, and hops are a vegetable (they're green, come on!). Eating your veggies is healthy, but drinking them is healthier!
  • Congrats! Keep up the great work! For the movies, my wife has a fairly large purse, so when we go we just put a bottle of water or two in there, along some snacks (fruit, trail-mix, granola bars outside of crunchy wrapers and inside snack bags). That keeps us healthy and happy through the movie.
  • What would you like to know?

  • This sounds good to me. Also, please pay attention to the last sentence. I did not heed this too much, and now have tendonitis in the achilles and ankles of both feet. I'm down for a week or two because of it. Get used to the things, do proper stretching and warmups, and ease into your workouts!
  • Tastes are different. Some people like brand "A", others like brand "B". Some like both. No one can tell you what taste good, because what taste good for one person may not for the next. I've gone through five different protein powders, and think I've finally found one that works for me. Out of those five, only one of them…
  • I echo Mr Phil, and welcome from up north!
  • If you're still under or at your calorie goal, you're fine.
  • My mistake. I was incorrect in saying it is passed out of the body. I think you're also taking my statment as "peeing out protein". I'm not making that point. Too much protein being broken down by the body can lead to calcium depletion, thus causing a buildup of oxylates. Which cause kidney stones if they are not properly…
  • Edited: Protein are calories, just like fats and carbs. Too many are a bad thing, if you go over your required calories. My mistake for incorrect information before. Drink more water with increased protein intake to help flush your kidneys. If not, kidney stones could form. Not from the protein itself, but from the…
  • What's your goal weight? Take that number, and multiple by 1. Got that number? That's how many grams of protein you should be taking in if you are active. Are you consuming over that number? Even if you are, unless it's double, don't worry about it!
  • Whatever it says on your HRM, and what is says in the Nutrition guide.

  • I shall begin work on a spiced non-soda drink that will mimic the flavor profile of Coke. For the sake of humanity.
  • I was in a similar spot. My legs are strong, but knees are the weak spot. My oldest brother is quite similar. Anyway, I've switched to using Cho-Pat braces when doing my plyometric exercises, or anything that puts a good amount of stress on the knees, and adopted a minimalist running style (thank you VFF shoes). That has…
  • Just calculated it up...185 (and counting) days without a soda. Not even a rum and coke. I don't think any of you understand how much that last one hurts.
  • Your kidneys will thank you.
  • Anything high in protein.
  • But please, be sure to cover up all that newly exposed skin with sunscreen!

  • I fixed this by turning off my zone alarm.
  • Processed meats, like deli meats, have quite a bit of sodium in them. Same for most processed foods, especially anything canned. Trail mix can also be a culprit, because of the salt on the nuts. Try looking for a mix with no salt added. You just have to be weary of all foods and READ LABELS! Compare different packages to…
  • I won't lie...I've done it.
  • Or Cardio X (since it has a little bit of Yoga, Plyo, Kenpo, and Core). I finished up P90X over a week ago, and you know what? I didn't finish a single Yoga X routine during the whole thing. Always subbed out. Don't feel too bad about it.
  • The one you enjoy and keep wanting to do.
