Running Shirtless?

Now that it's getting pretty hot out there, I was wondering what people think about running in a sports bra? I see men run shirtless all the time and although I realize that's not an option for us ladies (it would hurt anyway!), do you think running in a sports bra is inappropriate? Heck, is it illegal anywhere (laws can be funny) ?
I'm not talking about a thin white bra, but like a sturdy dark colored bra by Adidas or somebody (they have such pretty colors!) that won't be showing anything no matter how much you sweat. I can't imagine it's any different than wearing a bikini. Just curious on your thoughts. I'm thinking about just going for it.

I don't think there would be an issue with it. As long as your are not showing anything, who cares!!!0

Level of comfort...People do it all the time.0

Don't know what your laws are where you live - you might check with local law enforcement - but here in Ohio I see women running outdoors in sports bras all the time...0

I'm currently on the U of MN campus and I see the women running in sports bras all the time. Which makes me cold, because it's not really that warm here yet! lol0

I do it all the time, it's too damn hot for a shirt in the summer.0

I see woman here wear them every place, running, at the gym, at the market, and most wear things that are a heck of alot more revealing than that so dont worry about it, if its comfortable for you and it keeps you moving staying active and on your path then just do it!0

Well that's all good to hear... I know I've seen it around here before, but it just doesn't seem that common so i was just wondering. I tend to be a little paranoid about the simplest stuff!!0

your out there to better yourself, not to please others.. if a sports bra is comfortable then wear it! We have a chick at our gym that wears her sports bra and shorts every time I see her there.0

As a guy I wouldn't know if it was a sports bra or just some kind of exersice jersey.
I see women wearing, what I'm guessing, is a sports bra all of the time. They look just like work out gear to me.0 -
But please, be sure to cover up all that newly exposed skin with sunscreen!0

Honestly, I don't think most guys would even know the difference.Whatever the difference is between a sports bra & some bikini top is really just something you ladies understand.0

I live in Iowa where it gets very humid and hot during the summer months. I see a lot of women out in just the running bra, I think it makes sense.0

Out here in Cali, people exercise in sports bras all the time.0

I'm sure it's not illegal, because if that was illegal swimsuits would be too and I don't think swimsuits are illegal anywhere as long as you're outdoors. If you feel comfortable enough to do it, then rock it chick! Teeheee...that's a "secret" goal of mine...to be able to workout in skimpy clothes without worrying about anything jiggling lol. It's not so much about wanting to wear skimpy clothes, but wanting to be comfortable enough in my own skin to do it if I wanted to. Not quite there yet, but I'm close!0

I'm in WA state and we have people running in sports bras here during the summer all the time. (Well, the five minutes of summer we actually get anyway!)0

It is very common and completely acceptable; they cover more than many swim suit tops and are not typically "sexy" in design. But I have one caution. My wife hiked the Appalachian Trail and saw several women on the trail in sports bras, but she never wore one (except under a technical tee). She wanted to be very modest when out in the woods alone - unfortunately there are some “not nice” folks out there. So all that I am saying is location needs to be factored in as a consideration. Being in an open public area is actually more conducive to the sports bra idea than trail running and such. Just passing along my wife’s perspective.0

I see that quite often. No big deal.. I am in MN and I don't see anyone getting ticketed or carted off ..
Have at it! = )0
