Which ones do I want? http://www.wiggle.co.uk/ladies/?s=vibram These are the ones I can get. I am not entirely sure what I want them for, walking or running. How are they to run in?

I have a pair of Bikilas, 2 pair of KSO's, and a Sprint. Love the Sprints for summertime yardwork, going to the beach, just walking around. I run in the Bikilas. KSO's I don't wear that much anymore. You have to take time to build up the muscles in your feet before you can do any distance with running or you risk injury.

    This sounds good to me.

Also, please pay attention to the last sentence. I did not heed this too much, and now have tendonitis in the achilles and ankles of both feet. I'm down for a week or two because of it. Get used to the things, do proper stretching and warmups, and ease into your workouts!

I also have the new Bikilas (the ones with the bungee laces) and wear them constantly for walking. Have not started to run in them yet as I am currently injured but once I can start running again, I will be training down to them. I also have a pair of sprints that I don't really wear any longer since I can't really get the fit dialed in right with just the hook and loop straps.

If you can, go to a store that carries different ones. They all feel different on. For example, the store I went to had 3 diff. types of Bikilas, and each one felt different on. Some Vibrams have more tread/arch support, others have practically none. It depends also on what you plan to do in them. I got myself a pair of Bikilas - love them!

I have a pair of KSOs and Bikilas. I run mostly in the KSOs and find the Bikilas highly uncomfortable. I may have bought them a bit too small.

I've always fancied a pair, but don't buy them unless you can try them on first. I've got odd shaped toes and couldn't even get them on my feet!

Also how do the sizes come up?

I know running in barefoot shoes is hard work. I have some inov8 ones I love running in but gave myself an ankle injury doing an 11 mile run in them a few months ago. My physio says I need to do 6k runs in them and build up slowly.

I could not imagine buying them without trying them on. Unless I was buying the exact model I already owned. I have a pair of KSO's & just bought a pair of the Komodo Sport. I tried both styles if the Bikala's and neither fit me as well as the Komodo's. Last summer I was up to 5 miles(and probably could have gone more) in mine before it got cold. This fall I hope to not let the cold temps keep me from continuing to run in them.

I am not buying them yet, just getting my husband to bring some home for me to try on.
