  • What a nice thing to post, to everybody lucky enough to read this  . I see a lot of negativity on the forums at times, so reading this was a breath of fresh air. Thanks to YOU for putting a smile on my face today. Congrats on your successes, and here's to many, many more! :drinker:
  • That is FANTASTIC! And you SHOULD be proud! So many look for the huge accomplishments, like big numbers on the scale or epic workouts. Not realistic. It's the baby steps we all take that add up to the big stuff! I'm like you...hadn't run (or jogged for that matter ) since high school, when I used to run track. Now I'm up…
  • Hard work! I know it seems daunting at first. The trick is to not get discouraged and just keep going. Feed your body good healthy food, drink LOTS of water, and mix up your work outs. And track your sodium! When I first started on here last November I didn't have a defined waist either. I started out walking. Then joined…
  • Polar FT7; you can change the batteries yourself. Many, you have to send out to have the dang batteries changed. Whatever you decide, made sure you get one with a chest strap; much more accurate! And you can't even feel the chest strap. Good luck!
  • True! Anyway, it is according to a nutritionist and several trainers I've talked to. So drink up :drinker:
  • I will only eat a peanut butter sandwich if I have cheetos or nacho cheese doritos to eat with it. Needless to say, there have not been very many peanut butter sandwiches in my life lately!
  • Wow! I'm now super excited I down at least 14-16 glasses a day! :drinker: <chugging as we speak!
  • Regardless of science, I'm going with YES! Sweating my *#@ off is gonna count for something
  • When I started here last November I was at a loss as to what to eat too! I relied heavily on "diet" frozen foods, like Lean Cuisines. Then, I started getting help from my friends here and stalked their food diaries! I got a lot of great ideas from them. Good rules to live by are high protein (MFP sets the protein…
  • You've lost 33 pounds! That is no small accomplishment! I rarely comment on the message boards, but something about your post struck me. I looked at your profile and see that you are happily married and have a child. You are making good choices to improve your life (not just your weight). Focus on the little…
  • You're right! Sodium is the devil!! I also had a real struggle with it when I first started here last November and didn't think it was possible to eat the calories I needed without all that sodium. I stalked my friends diaries and got some great eating ideas. My diary is public, so feel free to take a look if you think…
  • There comes a time in your life when you have to think about you!!!!! You can't be the best that you can be for others if you're not taking care of yourself first. Kuddo's to you for realizing that :flowerforyou: I'm 45 and just now getting that. Include your family when you can. If they're not on board with your new found…
  • Trust me...it makes a difference!!! I've lost 33 and went from a size 16 to a size 8!!!!!! Feeling fabulous! I need clapping hands!
  • I've always really liked my eyes  . Even with the fine lines I'm getting around them now, I still like em...gives me character  And of course you already know I like my hollow armpits now  ! Love this thread Cory!
  • I LOVE this! It is so true. What may seem like such a little thing to say to somebody, it could totally change their day! Thanks for the reminder to always pay it forward! Have a wonderful day! :flowerforyou:
  • I'm a sinner too :embarassed: . I just couldn't take it anymore and I got on the scale this morning. It was just stressing me out to much. I'm not a chronic weigher, as in multiple times a day. I usually only weigh in once a week. Good news is I lost 2 lbs . Sorry to have let you all down! I wish you all much…
  • Hard time today. I feel like I've gained 10 lbs! :noway: I know I really haven't but I'm freaking out that when I do get on that stupid thing it's going to go in the wrong direction. And I'm bummed out today. Rained all morning and now it's SNOWING, and not just a little, huge sticking snow. Crap. I just want to eat a huge…
  • I'm not super stoked about my body fat%...30.3% according to the basic one or 31% according to the Army one. Barely acceptable but at least the Army would take me
  • Awesome work you're doing on this Mandie! That body fat % is scary! Can you tell us what those percentages mean? Like how they break it down on what's considered healthy, normal, horrible even. Not sure I want to know :noway: , but I probably should  . Or if you can provide a link to the site you're using I can…
  • Sorry to say I have to agree with what Nan said. You also said in your profile you were changing because your best friend told you to. You really need to do this for yourself, not your husband, best friend, or anybody else. This is really hard and you have to be your own greatest cheerleader! You can do this and you'll…
  • Here ya go Mandie  Name: Marnie Height: 5'8" Neck: 12.75" Bust: 36.5" Upper Arm: 10.5" Thigh: 21.5" Waist: 31.5" Hips: 39.5"
  • Oh I'm so in Mandie! I, too, gave up the scale for lent and I'm jonesin for SOMETHING to measure! I'll measure in the morning and post them  . Thanks for staring this and possibly saving my life :drinker:
  • The more fat free you go, the higher the sodium. 2% has less sodium and full fat has even less sodium. Depends on what you have room for in your diet, fat or sodium. Seems like any time you take something out of food (fat, sugar, etc) they replace it with something equally as bad for ya! :grumble:
  • So I woke up feeling particularly skinny today...my undies even feel loose! My first thought, of course, was I'd love to get on that scale and see if those loose undies mean anything. I didn't do it though! Man, this is harder than I thought it'd be! Hope you all get your "skinny" on today! :drinker:
  • It's amazing to me that all I think about all day is that scale! :grumble: I went YEARS and didn't weigh myself, which is part of what's freaking me out I think. I didn't weigh for years and look what happened?! I have not succumbed to stepping on it though, and I WILL NOT! :noway:
  • I know this "40 days of Lent" is confusing to some people. I am Catholic, so this is how it goes...It's considered 40 days because Sunday's aren't included in "actual Lent". And Lent officially ends on "Good Friday", the Friday before Easter, hence, the 40 days. However, since we started out committing to breaking up with…
  • Ok everybody, you know I'm already in this. But just a reminder, Easter is late this year, it's 47 days from tomorrow, not 40. So are we back on the scale in 40 days on Palm Sunday or in 47 days on Easter Sunday????
  • Ok...I've been having a fight in my head about this thread for 2 days! :noway: I officially posted on my status today that I'm giving up being fat for Lent, and not just until Easter! I've been having a serious hate-on for my scale lately since it has not budged since February 13, and I mean AT ALL! So.....drumroll…
  • Good for you :drinker: ! You're definately right, you SHOULD enjoy every moment leading up to your wedding, and the wedding of course! Congrats on your upcoming marriage and your weight loss!! Looks like you're doing great
  • Litehouse has a Raspberry Walnut vinaigrette dressing that is yummy! 100 cals for 2 Tbsp and only 75 mg of sodium! Litehouse is in the produce section of your grocery store; it's always refrigerated. Try to stay away from the the "fat free" dressing options. Anything with "free" anything on the label is usually sky high in…
