  • Could do with some more new friends, getting back at it!
  • Listening to a Numenera podcast called The Signal, bursting with inspiration cause of it.
  • Hey everyone. Pan Dutch guy here and a follower of the old ways. 35 years old now and I've been dieting/losing weight ever since I was 12. It's been on and off and definitely off lately. Gamer, through and through so most often it's hard to get up and ge out of the gaming chair and tear myself away from the computer. But…
  • Whoop! Dutch guy here, add me if you want.
  • Stress eating got me back to my starting weight when I got a new job a few years ago. I'm horrible when it comes to stress eating, when the pressure is on the fatty foods come out. Brrrrr.
  • Cheese, cheese is my biggest enemy. I can not control myself around it, and I don't know why. I actually opted to not buy any cheese anymore for now, because if I buy a block of it I can devour it all in one day, no problem, without even noticing it I'd eat away 1kg of cheese. And man, if it was a kg of yoghurt, or…
  • Feel free to add me, I was around 383 when I started out, am a bunch down now but still have a long way to go. You can do it. We can do it.
  • Mission succesful *checks box*
  • Wash/comb daily, Conditioner once or twice a week. I also give it a neat trim ever so often, to make sure I get rid of split ends and very coarse hairs.
  • Very true, to add to that.
  • You my friend are confusing pleasure and happiness. Pleasure is a bite of a cookie, a morning spent having sex, a cigarette or a drink. A short lived moment that makes you feel "good" Happiness is the bigger and broader perspective of things, and comes from within.
  • I love my afternoon walks. I don't have a lunch "hour" but just half an hour. And it takes me 15 minutes to walk around the building, through a park and back. So I do 1 or 2 of those laps, each lap is just over 1KM. :) It's a good little burn that you would otherwise spend sitting around. I love my walking.
  • Not given up on coffee completely. Though being an office monkey with a habitat (desk) about 5 meters from the coffee machine I used to consume 8-10 cups of cappucino a day. I quit the cappucino, drink my coffee blacker than the blackest black, times infinity now. And reduced it to the occasional 1 cup a day. (3-4 a week…
  • 30 and something!
  • 383lb, that was my weight 55 days ago (56 by now ;) ) And that was the point where I stepped on the scales for the first time in 10-12 years and had the scare of my life. I realized I did not want to be like this. I wear the 4X shirts, have trouble finding nice pants to fit in, the whole thing. For me the biggest change in…
  • Nuts (Almonds, Cashews, Wallnuts) and trail mix, or a granola bar here and there. That is what I use to make up for a big hole in my calories.
  • There is no such things as failure. Just various degrees of succes.
  • Sir Ian McKellen. <3
  • The first time in many years I stepped on the scale and registered a whopping 174Kg (383lb) . That really scared me because I have always been a big guy, but I figured my weight had always been around 120/130Kg, not 174. For a good day I was knocked off balance and figured the only thing my weight was good for was snapping…
  • I have noticed that now I have started counting calories, eating healthier and excercising more my body will tell me when it needs fuel and when it can do without. This is something new to me as I used to have both no "hunger feeling" nor did I have a "satisfied" feeling. The main reason for me to log and keep counting is…
  • Guys who like reading books. And paprika flavoured potatoe chips. I know, odd combo. But it works!
  • This, I am horribly in love with mangoes and nectarines etc. If I eat one of each I am over my sugar count. I cut out all other "added" sugars out of my life, fresh veggies, tea without sugar, no sodas anymore. Sugars from fruit I can live with.
  • I used to have rather severe back pains especially in my lower back when I walked a lot. Now I have two things that made my walking easier. 1. Other shoes, oddly I don't have any back pains while walking in my New Rocks, other shoes did cause my lower back to hurt. I suppose proper walking boots would do the same for me.…
  • It fades, don't worry. I was a damn grumpy ogre when I first started out, the first couple of days I would snarl at anyone around me. But afterwards it evened out, and now, after a good 4,5 week of eating healthy and changing up my food intake I feel a lot better and in good spirits. I haven't had a serious depressive mood…
  • Does spinning around in my office chair till I get dizzy count?
  • You ask, you find a baker or a produce store you trust. For me, the halal butcher/turkish vegetable store around the corner became the main store where I do my shopping. Genuine lean meat, fresh chicken and beef. Fresh vegetables and fruits. I think I only go to the supermarket for things like toiletpaper and shampoo, but…
  • I only realized this about 4 weeks ago. Better late than never huh?
  • MFP tells me to eat 2300+ cals to lose weight. But honestly, if you feel good it probably works for you. I can't eat 2300 cals, I could when I would eat processed food and all the stuff I used to. But now that I eat healthy and timed I can't anymore. Personally I just make sure not to slide under the 1200. That seems to be…
  • I genuinely can't eat before a workout. I tend to give it all back up if I do. So generally I do my work outs, hydrate a lot during and after them. And about half an hour to an hour later I have my meal. Then again I do generally work out after my work day, when I have some food to burn inside of me already.
  • My mom used to say; "You'd be so gorgeous if only you lost weight" Ghee..thanks mom :)
