Wow! What a gift you've given yourself. I know you've got a lot of answers already, so I won't add mine other than keep tweaking until the scale starts moving down again. And I agree you may see that sooner if the carbs go down. Keep us posted!

Welcome Home! I just returned myself. Let's do this!!
-
Sounds like great advice, all of it! I just wanted to say these are good problems to have. I'm happy for you!
-
Agreed. Totally appreciate that. Could never get used to the low-fat versions... especially cheese, so I just ate less.
-
Eat what you want, but don’t wipe out a week’s worth of progress in a single day. --Love it!!
-
It's not about thinking at all, is it? It's about denial. Food is bad but what about smoking? Drinking? Overspending? Gambling? Ha ha... "the beat goes on."
-
Everywhere! Sodium and Sugar. That's why it's a great idea to add those items to your MFP nutrient list so you see it every meal. Thanks for the post!
-
Awesome commitment. Awesome result. Good 4 U!! (I'll be watching...)
-
That, my friend, is a very fine gift you've given yourself for Christmas! You R awesome!!
-
Hey Girlfriend, When you set your goals, MFP sets the suggested breakdown of nutrients within the calories they give you. OK?
-
I am so with you in the sentiment. Check this out - http://www.forbes.com/sites/kevinkruse/2012/11/28/zig-ziglar-10-quotes-that-can-change-your-life/ - Hope you don't get a commerical, but if you do, it's worth it...

OMGoodness! I am going to share this with my friends. Thank you so much. Wouldn't this be great as a quick breakfast on the go? Bet you could keep them in the freezer. Thank you. Thank you!:flowerforyou:

Big smile to that!!

You are absolutely correct. When I stopped smoking in 1984, my group leader said, "After today, you will never be the same mindless smoker as you were when you arrived." I have used that statement so many ways to illustrate the point - overeating, overspending, overanything! The same principle applies. When you pay…
-
OMGoodness! I've never heard that number in relation to over 50. Yikes. DoubleYikes.
-
That shows what a little determination will do. Welcome to your new life! You earned it!!
-
Good for you, Alice! I'm going to just ramp up my exercise (which I love to do). This info couldn't have come at a better time for me. My advice is "Don't starve yourself through this. Love yourself through this."
-
Good 4 U for watching your sodium intake. Agreed - processed foods are the culprit. With beans, you can rinse them, but there's not much you can do about soup (except make your own). Knowledge is power! Read every label!!
-
Well, I'm 65 and all my life I wa 5-10 until my last check-up. I had shrunk to 5-8... but that's what brought me to MFP. I'm usually in the low 150s and that's my goal. I was 173 when I started here and I've "released" 14 pounds since August. Good luck to you all AND don't forget the strength exercises or you could end up…
-
WooHoo! Sounds great. Let us know how you do tomorrow. Sounds like you're doing everything right. Make some friends here - it's a huge help! I'm happy to be one...
-
Great one for me too. I've just returned from a trip to California where I wasn't logging. I've gained a few pounds. So it's back to my MFP routine today and I'm jazzed about it! So much easier to lose a couple instead of 10 or more!
-
Excellent and interesting post. Thanks! I knew someone who maintained her weight by fasting on Mondays. That's it and it worked very well for her. I like your idea better because you have something -- just less. Great strategy.
-
Thanks, Girlfriend, for sharing your story and pics. You are looking great and I'm with you -- it's doesn't have to happen overnight any more. It just has to happen. You'll find a way to get more exercise in -- after all, you have to be in great shape to hike all those national parks!
-
I wouldn't suggest logging in advance. Just log as you go. But don't just look at weight loss - look at body fat percentage, body mass index, waist to hip ratio. Take measurements, set reasonable goals. These are the things that will keep you motivated! You'll see, life at MFP is not about losing a few pounds. Good luck!
-
Good for you! I've been a coach for a long time and setting reasonable goals is the best way to accomplish them. Welcome and I hope to see you again around here!
-
Use the calculator at http://www.bmi-calculator.net/body-fat-calculator/. It's very helpful!
-
Yep, I think it's miraculous that you hadn't lost those 20s by now but My God, Girl, what an accomplishment!
-
So funny to find this. I just posted as my status: "The choices I make today determines the rest of my life."
-
And kooltray nailed it: You never get a second chance at a first impression!
-
I think there are a lot of good replies here but for me: NEVER! If I'm going to pay someone to help me, I want them to be the example of what I hope to become. Good luck with this!
