I'm over 50 also and trying to get motivated. I lost almost 30 lbs and then took a break. Now I am starting again. Good luck to you!

Hello all. I've been inconsistent lately too, but am still trying. I've lost almost 30 lbs since September, but still have another 70 to go. I also got a Fitbit Zip to track my activity, which interfaces with MFP to adjust calories. It is a good motivator for me to get moving so it might help some of you out too. I wish…

Awesome! It's a great feeling to go "shopping" in your own closet for smaller sizes!

Keep working at it. 9 pounds over 5 weeks is not bad at all. I saw a Dr. Oz show where he said weight lost slowly (1 - 2 pounds per week) tends to stay off. The exercise you are planning will help out too. Don't let the speed of the weight loss get you down.

Gotta love the wings, but have to limit indulging to rare, special occasions. :)

Alice, Thanks much for sharing the lessons you've learned. You are helping me stay motivated.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like pen & paper is still the only reliabe way for notes.

Awesome! You are my weight loss hero! :)

I weigh myself once a month and take measurements too. If I haven't lost that much weight, it might be because I'm building muscle & trimming inches. If I do it more frequently, I tend to get frustrated and go on a binge. Not a good thing. LOL!

Awesome accomplishment! You are definitely inspiring me! :)

This sound terrific, but a little fatty. I use Swiss Miss Diet chocolate mix (25 cal) and fat free whipped cream. Yummy substitute!

I agree with all the ladies on this string. We need to be supportive and realize that this isn't just a diet, but a mindset to a new way of living.

@ nicleed: Congrats on reaching your goal!

NROL4W: Just read a post that it is not for people who have more than 15 or so pounds to lose. Will continue searching...

I've been going to the YMCA for the past several weeks and doing varied exercises with weight resistance on their equipment. This NROL4W sounds interesting though as well as Margaret Richards. I like reading all the posts with good ideas.

Hello all! My name is Carrie (age 55) and I live in San Diego, California. I am trying to lose over 100 pounds to be healthier and enjoy more activities. I've been on MFP since August, but didn't start getting serious posting my food/exercise until the last few weeks. I've lost six pounds but have a long ways to go and was…

I'm new to posting on these boards. I too have had days where I did my totals and then had to come back the next day and add more food from an unplanned weakness. I'm exploring the site and trying to get inspiration...
