  • Cookies and Cream protein powder, 1 c almond milk, and mixed berries. OMG...my fiance and i both have this as our breakfast and it's like having a triple thick milkshake from Mcdonalds. Yum!
  • This was my ED. It was still considered bulimia (even though I didn't purge) but I binged and took diet pills. I ended up 60 lbs overweight because of it. I would say that most who are morbidly obese also have EDs. Completely 100% correct that not all ppl with EDs are skinny.
  • What does what I said have to do with only eating "healthy food"?? I said to eat the darn pizza....just because I suggested rounding it out with a side salad?!
  • if you want to work out, then work out! Your body needs to repair itself but that just means you can't do hard core high intensity workouts every day. Plus you'd burn out. But if you have the energy and want to workout 7 days, I'd say go for it! just do something light like a walk or pilates/yoga, play tennis with a…
  • Then have some pizza for god sakes! If you deprive yourself of something you really love then you'll fail in the end. I have pizza on a weekly basis. You just can't eat half a pizza to yourself. Try to have a side salad and limit yourself to two slices (and of course, no extra meat or extra cheese). Life is too short to…
  • I know what you mean. I think i remember reading somewhere that the BM isn't as effective with stuff like strength training. If you think about one of the parameters that BM uses, it's motion. When you aren't moving all over the place like higher impact/intensity exercises it seems to think you are just sitting there…
  • Do you or have you ever had an ED???? Seems like not, because if you did, you would know it isn't as simple as just deciding to lose weight healthily. You think people with EDs WANT to have it??
  • I'm currently in remission.
  • If you have a heart to heart you might not want to say "I'm afraid you'll die well before me and I'll be all alone"....it sounds selfish. You'll want to say that you worry that his quality of life won't meet it's potential and that he might not live as long as he is meant to. I don't know if you have kids or plan on it,…
  • AWESOME! I added myself. I'll try to remember to add my measurements when I get home (@ work right now). I'm getting married October 20, 2012 and I still haven't shopped for my wedding dress because I need/want to lose more weight. I've decided that I have to go by early December regardless of my weight though. Thanks for…
  • I have to take my fur babies out for walks separate of my workouts. They're chihuahuas, and while they can run pretty fast, they have no desire to run with me or as fast as i can.
  • I agree that people should be allowed to eat whatever they want. We shouldn't be judging people for what they are eating (maybe it's their cheat day? maybe they didn't have time to go grocery shopping or make a healthy lunch?) People judge me at work ALL the time for what I eat because they always say "should you be eating…
  • Shakeology! The only shake that has helped me with my IBS and actually keeps me full for a decent amount of time.
  • Like I said, as long as it doesn't make you restrict, then it's all good :) And thanks! It's still tough, but I try to stay realistic and in tune with what might be ED behaviours
  • Hi! I'm currently in remission from an ED (bulimia) and coming on here to count calories was a HUGE step. We're walking a fine line here. I'm sure you know that in treatment they tell you to NOT count your calories and focus more on tracking food groups. Personally, tracking my food groups causes the same stress as…
  • I don't think you need to worry about putting on "the goo" as Tony Horton calls it. P90X or Insanity are good programs to build muscle AND keep off fat (Btw, P90X 2 is coming out soon!). Of course watch your diet too. Some guys think they can eat as much of whatever they want just because they are exercising. You obviously…
  • Are you eating back your exercise calories? If you are at 1200 calories a day and burn off 300, you'll be at 900 for the day! way too low! and it's sooooo hard to stick with it being that restrictive. what pound/week loss do you have MFP set at? maybe you should aim for 0.5 lb/week or 1 lb/week at first to try and get…
  • The hospital I work at actually has quarter mile markers in the basement (yeah, the basement of a hospital doesn't sound like prime walking atmosphere, but you use what you can...and outside isn't really a great option because it's downtown Detroit, lol). On days where I'm working a long shift and I know I won't be able to…
  • Haha..."How I Met Your Mother" fan huh? Go Barney!
  • I completely agree with Phil....an HRM...that and you get a pretty accurate count of how many calories were burned too :)
  • Windsor Ontario :)

  • Chocolate Shakeology
  • I LOVE THIS! So true! You have to approach weight loss in a different way than just "I want to lose weight because I feel fat" or "I have a special event coming up and I want to look good in my dress". I wrote an article for Associated Content on this a while ago actually...you need to have the right reasons for weight…
  • Plain and simple muscle loss. You start to lose muscle mass after just a few days of not exercising! I've noticed it too. Glycogen is the main form of energy storage in muscles and it holds 3x it's weight in water...so you lose a bit of muscle and a whole lot of water too.
  • You aren't doing weights? Well that is something you should DEFINITELY do then. If you gain weight during weight training you'll probably see a 3 lb gain (especially if you are sore) due to water and it'll quickly disappear after a few days. Honestly, no exercise routine is complete without weight training. It's A MUST!…
  • I've had the same problem (although I have about 60 lbs to lose, not 8) the last few months. I've looked at my diet and one thing I think is that I'm having too much sodium (I have about 1000 mg over the recommended daily intake) which would explain why my weight fluctuates within a 3 lb range daily...too much water…
  • I lost 2 lbs in a matter of 10 minutes....I went pee (sorry for the TMI). It's possible through water loss and bowel movements to lose that much weight in a day. I often will see no loss for days, then all of a sudden I'll drop 2 lbs and stay there. If it goes back up it was probably water or bowel contents (apparently we…
  • I agree...go get them done! Seriously, a few lbs is not going to make a difference!
  • I just finished a ChaLEAN Extreme/TurboFire hybrid and I just started the TurboFire only schedule a few days ago :)
  • AH! Have fun! lol...so you are doing the FULL schedule of both? Every day? Wow... I stopped P90X around day 45...I got too bored...but mixing it up with TF might make it better :)
