  • I'm really confused why so many people are hell-bent on making me feel unwelcome here when I have been a member since 2011 and seen hundreds of people obtain support and advice...
  • I'm sure your knowledge of me and my lifestyle is as limited as mine is of yours but what you perhaps skipped over, is that I have a number of medical issues which means that for the time it takes the average person to lose 1 stone, I could probably just about manage a pound. I have tried and failed at as many calorie…
  • This is a lot of information to take in and very helpful. I'm sure all cases are completely different depending on circumstances, body type etc and your story has definitely opened my eyes to the risks. I've spent particular time in researching the known risks as this is what has been worrying my partner. I know about the…
  • I'm not on here to get a glorified answer, or to be talked out of it. The people on the other thread were trying to talk me out of it and telling me I am going to start using drugs, getting depressed, become an alcoholic. I wasn't asking those questions, so figured perhaps I was asking in the wrong place. I am capable of…
  • I like pink, you seemed to read it just fine though, however I have changed, just for you <3
  • Missed a word out, Corrected. Thanks.
  • I did indeed make another post but unfortunately the responses I was receiving weren't quite answering what I asked. As mentioned, I made my mind up over years of contemplation and research. Bypass and Sleeve are NOT suitable for me, for many reasons. I'm simply looking for people who have gone through the procedure to get…
  • Perhaps tried is the wrong word. I'm human after-all...what other word would you use instead of tried?
  • Thank you so much, this information is exactly what I was looking for. I'm not under any illusion that the band is a miracle and I will all of a sudden, through no effort, start dropping the weight. I am the kind of person that sees a body like a machine (however mine isn't running as smoothly as I would like) so I know…
  • Hey, yeah, the doctors in my area aren't as good as some, they pass me off and don't offer me any resolve. All I receive for my problems are regular blood tests and medication which makes me ill.
  • Thank you. Believe me, I've tried a good 12 years of on off dieting. Had help from dietician,s medication, hypnotherapy and slimming world, weight watchers, personal trainer. I unfortunately have a horrible cocktail of hormone imbalances and thyroid issues which make my body hold on to it's fat so I think it will help me.…
  • Hello Hippy Skoppy, This is all really helpful. When I initially wrote this post I didn't expect to get anything back, genuinely. But I am astounded by the amount of support I have received. My outlook is positive and I am finding things slightly easier by making the small changes.
  • I absolutely agree with this. :)
  • I would agree with pity party comment if I had written this 5 years ago when I first realised I had a problem. I would now describe it as a cry for help. Literally, I have gotten way beyond the pity party fase when it was getting to the point where I didn't know where to turn and was shaking with nerves just thinking about…
  • :) I was just exaggerating when I said 3 hours, I know this is completely ridiculous, I just mean how I always run in head first and think well if I don't do the absolute maximum all at once, then I shouldn't be doing anything at all which is obviously the wrong outlook. I wouldn't say I was in a race, I think it is more…
  • Welcome Kunal. I'm pretty new too so welcome :)
  • Thank you. It helps me so much hearing other people's progress because I can say to myself that if they can do it then so can I. 22lb is such a massive achievement and I genuinely can't wait until I am that far in my journey. As long as I keep my head together and just do it!
  • Thank you. It makes so much sense. An artist doesn't start by painting a masterpiece first try, they learn and make mistakes but they keep trying. I suppose it's a similar theory.
  • Thank you so much everyone who has posted. I have read every single one and they are all so different and inspiring. I'm going to take baby steps, make small differences until it gets a bit easier and who says I need to go to the gym 5 times a week for 3 hours at a time...whats wrong with starting off once? I feel so much…
  • You’re absolutely right, when I think of starting, I think ‘Right, from tomorrow, no more tea, no more coffee, no more puddings and find time for 2 hours at the gym’ I never think that I need to make a slight change tomorrow or that I could maybe try an hour at the gym or even half an hour. It’s like I am for all or…
  • Thank you. This means a lot! You make a lot of sense. I tend to boredom eat. Having a desk job doesn't help this. I enjoy walking and swimming, I don't do it often enough. I'm going to try my best. I've done it before, I can do it again.
  • I need exactly what you need. I need to lose around 50lb and then some. But I mainly need to get more active to get my confidence back.
  • You're right. My negativity is annoying as I am usually such a positive person. I may only have 50 or so pounds to lose, but for someone who is 5ft thats a lot lol
  • I absolutely love swimming. I used the excuse of living too far from one to go, but I recently passed my driving test and have no excuse now, because when I'm driving 30 minutes up the dual carriageway to get a milkshake, I in fact drive straight past the swimming and leisure centre. In my head, I am not the size the…
  • Half a stone in 2 weeks is AMAZING!! I can't believe that. Well done! I'm hoping to meet some supportive people to help me a long the way. Part of my problem is I cant do anything alone, regardless as to whether it will only benefit me or not... The work gym is excellent, I will definitely be using it, I have a colleague…
  • I remember a few months back I tried mint tea, which i really enjoyed, so I bought a box and never opened it. I might have to crack it open again. The problem with not cutting all the things out I like is all the things I like and currently eat are calorific, will that not just set me back too much? 2 steps forward, 3…
  • I absolutely love this Jar idea, and I am definitely doing it. Also the money idea is brilliant. Thank you so much, Im really excited now :)
  • That post is really useful. Thank you for your help :)
  • Thank you that is so nice. I really like that quote 'I'm closer than I was last week' :) made me smile!
