  • I think you were polite on your other post. I do believe that some of the people were too harsh, but it is inevitable on anything internet these days. Everyone thinks they know what's best, and it is super easy to be condescending in text. People even start in on each other and get distracted from what the original post…
  • Oh man, I feel you. Years ago, when I still had a Blackberry and MFP was nothing like it is today, I lost about 35lbs. I kept it off for years. Had another child (number 3) and when I stopped nursing around the time my dad died, I have gained 20lbs back. The worst part is, I am a certified personal trainer. I started…
  • I take Raw One multi, fish oil, reservatrol, and glucosamine/msm. I also drink Shakeology after long workouts. Quality of the vitamin matters! I never take a one a day multi, but a 4 a day serving that a spread throughout the day. Ultimately, if you feel better, then despite the naysayers something good is happening. I do…
  • It's great to let loose once in a while, but I have gained as much as 6 lbs. in a splurge weekend!! You can splurge a little without going all out. Don't count the calories, just think about what you REALLY want, not just kinda want, and have a little. Better that then have regrets when you get home.
  • My personal experience is a little of a mix of those opinions. Before using this website, we had a bit of a Biggest Loser contest at my work, and I won by loosing 30 pounds. I did that by exercising and eating no more than 1200 calories a day. I still have weight I would like to loose, but I can say that it absolutely does…
  • The best way to go is with a lower sugar alcohol like vodka or tequila. Diet soda's are good to avoid for obvious reasons, so mix with soda water and lemon or lime. Hope that helps:-)
  • I liked the Jillian DVD's also, until I tried Some of Bob Harper's. He is amazing!! There is not a single part of my body left untouched, and just the sound of his voice is motivating. I bought his set of 4, and I can't wait to get his new kettle bell ones. He has a real appreciation for total body wellness, and let me…
  • Nothing wrong with having an occasional (occasional mind you) indulgence. The problem with alcohol is that no matter how you drink it it's empty calories and extra sugar. Wine was always my preference, then I switched to vodka or tequila with diet. However I noticed that switching to the diet brought on a general feeling…
  • I know exactly what you are talking about!! I have 2 children who I really want to teach good eating habits to, because being healthy isn't just about being skinny. But my husband has always been thinner, and doesn't see why he should have to eat the "crappy" foods when he doesn't need to loose weight. As well as the fact…
  • I think not working out is a mistake. It's really important to maintain some muscle mass to help support your joints as well as keep your metabolism up. If you are tired after the Jillian one, maybe that one just happens to not be the right workout for you. After I dislocated my knee, the doctor explained to me that that…
