My trainer looks similar to x_desertcolt_x - hence why I never ever miss a session with him. He's a dang good trainer too but eye candy is always appreciated.

I started strength training at the same time as losing fat - best thing I ever did. Now I can see some muscle definition it encourages me even more to lose the fat.

I lived in Ireland for a few months and people would talk about how beautiful it was. I was seriously very disappointed I have to say. Scenery in NZ is beautiful and amazing and sadly Ireland just didn't compare.

I have to say though, skin doesn't spring back so easily as I age and I'm really hating these dang flabby underarm bits. I'm quite proud of my arms until I lift them up and all I can see is the flabby bit. Sigh.

Absolutely stunning, way to go!

I find the hardest accents to understand are Irish and Welsh. Had some hilarious times overseas. Conversely, I have Irish friends who find me hard to understand which I think is partly because NZers speak quite fast.

I like your look - totally fits with my idea that it's what's underneath that counts.

I hear ya. I totally let myself go at 40 when I succumbed to stress at work and got into the headspace of I'm old now, who cares. Really?! What was I thinking? Thank goodness I let go of that negative thinking. I have a different outlook now and am more focused on strength training, mobility, and slow fat loss.

I agree with this but it is my problem not theirs I suppose. If you've got it flaunt it???? Can't say I look at a guy and think 'wow, I really like what he's wearing'. It's more what's underneath that counts.

I absolutely hated zumba when I first started, I so did not feel like a sexy mama flailing about to salsa music. Then I changed classes to a more hip hop type one and I love, love, love it. I have the attention span of Dory so get lost easily sometimes. I stand at the front so I can't see everyone else behind stuffing it…

Thanks for being so open and honest. If you were truly happy and felt this way I'd not leave a comment but it seems to me that you are still hurting and have underlying issues to be addressed. I think you would benefit from talking to a counselor so you can look at the issues and work through them. Best of luck.

I do intermittent fasting 2 days per week. Some days are particularly tough. I know I won't of hunger though and the hunger pangs will go away, eventually. After a few weeks it settled down, thank goodness.

Motivation hasn't been an issue for the past 6 months but it's now winter and getting up at 5am to hit the gym isn't so appealing. For the past 2 mornings I've seriously considered staying in bed. But I tell myself this is who I am, this is what I do, I'll love it when I get there, and serve me right for not going to bed…

My mother in law visited (unfortunately) recently and said she didn't want to see her niece because she's so fat it grossed her out. Boy did I let her have it about how rude and judgmental that comment was how much it completely ticked me off. I'm in the process of losing weight - does that mean I used to gross her out…

From my mother in law - I didn't want to visit my niece because she's so fat it disgusts me. It's more judgmental than dumb though. As I'm on a fat loss journey I took it really dang personally and told her exactly what I thought, repeatedly.

My hubby accidentally put deep heat instead of toothpaste on his toothbrush. You'd think the smell would be a clue, but it wasn't!

I noticed that. So often I'd be asked oh New Zealand that's part of Australia right? Ummmm, sure.

Hydroslide with my kids. Great fun.

I agree with getting a trainer so you learn good form & get a good programme.

I've lost 40kg before - it can be done. Age is on your side. Whatever eating plan u follow just be consistent & you'll get there. Best of luck.

After getting my act together and losing weight, getting fit etc, the one other area of my life that I'd been neglecting for years was my marriage. I read lots relationship articles, consulted with friends, drank copious amounts of gin and plucked up the courage to have the conversation with my hubby. The conversation…

After lots of ongoing issues, I took my hubby out for date night to clear the air. It went really, really, really well. Big smile on my face and skipping around work today. Yuss!

I swear by branched chain amino acids. I take some before and after a workout in a protein drink and it has really kicked my training up a notch. I did 160kg leg press (first time in years) last week and had no soreness at all. I also do lots of stretching.

Approx 110kg After 7 months I'm 93kg & half way to my goal
-
I was pretty chuffed with 10 full press ups this morning. Last week it was just 5. Yuss!

I wanted one for my 40th birthday. Got it done a few weeks ago - I'm 43 now. So I spent ages thinking about it and still got cold feet. I love it & just needed to suck it up & be brave. Do it!

I move snails out of the way so they don't get stood on.
