It was my understanding that doing a smaller amount of reps with heavier weights is what helps with muscle gain.

^^What He said. I just fixed my caloric intake using this thread and I feel much better about it! I don't feel like I'm starving on the 1200 and now I'm at 1700 a day. Much easier to abide by.
