I have been away for about a month....but am restarting again. I will be posting regularly on Sunday's again. The up side, I have maintained my weight (fluxuating from 192-194.4 since I left). I'm starting back with diet and exercise and hope to be back to the 1# a week loss.

My Husband and I have oatmeal every weekday morning. The easiest way..... Buy an inexpensive rice cooker from Target, Walmart, etc. Add 1 part Oldfashoned Oats, 1.5-2 parts water (or skim milk), pinch salt if desired (we dont use) and press cook. We use water at 1.5 parts, and add a chopped apple or pear (with skin on)…

OK, I owe somone an appology....She is a member of this site, is a lovely blonde, and has a name with a D..... (Great description, I know....probabally describes 20-30% of us). Anyway, She sent a friend request, and I declined it. I should have accepted. And if you re-send I will accept. You see, it has been a crazy two…

@jungodog1 Try roasted golden beets...much milder in flavor. (I dislike regular beets, but love these with a little vinegar and goat cheese or blue cheese).

I’m back in again! I am plateauing for the past two weeks and am trying to work through it. My weight has been all over the place from 187.8lbs to 191.2. I lose and gain every week and essentially stay where I am. Last week my husband was sick, so I ate fast food for 3 days. (Salt probably has a lot to do with it). New…

I didn’t have time to check in yesterday, so here is my weekly check-in. (I may change my official day to Monday, as it works so much better for me). I recovered from the Super Bowl and a day of eating Salt and Drinking (wine). Monday 6Feb17, I started the Couch 2 5K program – Treadmill Edition, and actually did two extra…

Hi all, I was out of the house all day yesterday, and didn’t have the opportunity to check in. (I weighed yesterday morning, but did not post). So, here is my check-in for the week... It was a lousy week, but I am back on track today. And this is the week, I start my Couch to 5K Treadmill edition….we’ll see if I can run in…

Good luck!...You may find 1200 too restrictive, but 1200-1400 and leaving out processed foods and eating protein, and lots of veggies is working for me. (down 35 lbs since the end of October).

Your thighs are heavy...you looked so good when you were exercising all the time. (Said to a teenager who weight 120lbs and was a size 4/6, by her quite obese mother - size 22). And she wonders why I have food issues now.
-
I will likely do a 5k....i just need to get through the training first. :)
-
I use them...they help, but you have to drink enough water with them, or else it makes things worse.
-
@dbernrd Thanks for the advice. I am doing the treadmill version, and I no inclination to move fast or to injure myself. My goals are 1st health, 2nd weight loss (I'm a woman, so vanity always comes into the picture), 3rd finding more ways to be active, and burn calories in less time - I don't always have time to walk an…

So, this was the last week of the Holiday Weight Loss Challenge. I joined this forum as an accountability partner as I started my weight loss journey again on 23Oct16 – the day before this challenge started. I was lucky to see the post and join. My all-time high weight (that I measured) was 226 lbs on 17Feb2016. I weighted…

I use the Ensure high protein nutritional shakes (occasionally) as a meal replacement, but not as a regular occurrence. For example, on Sunday mornings, I may have one for breakfast, then have lunch and dinner. Or may replace dinner with one if I have an appointment after work and wont be home until very late. This helps…

Love the "Progress, not perfection"! I think I will need to adopt this for me too.

A week ago was my brother’s wedding. This week I was back at home and back into my schedule….Grocery shopping, cooking at home, eating healthy, and trying to be active. I have had a shaky start to the year, one week up, one week down, but still have an overall down trend. So far, I have lost 5 lbs this year (we’re 4 weeks…

So, I saw my mother for the first time in 6 months last weekend. Since I saw her previously, I had lost 30 lbs. (I am 5'8" and weigh 190 now). I had told my brother I had lost weight before I saw them (and how much). He had gotten weight loss surgery last year (He had numerous health problems) and is down to a mid-low…

Have fun in Florida and see you when you get back!

This is the post, I intended to quote....This is my brother's (rather unusual) wedding....I am the Zebra in the middle. And yes, I am wearing pearls with my pajamas....as it is a wedding.

My brother's wedding this weekend....Never had more fun in my pajamas....I'm the zebra in the middle.

The road to Success will have ups and downs – right? This up was somewhat self-imposed. I went to my brother’s wedding this weekend and like most weddings, there was food and alcohol. Between wedding fare and driving 6 hours each way (and eating fast food and candy on the road each way), I am up 0.4 lbs. this week (Weigh…

I went to my brother’s wedding this weekend. I drove 6 hours each way (on Friday and Sunday) to go and return. As such, I ate fast food, (and candy – didn’t want to admit that one – but we’re being honest here – right?) on the road for two meals, ate out while I was there, and drank at the reception. My weight responded in…
