  • I'm new to plant based too. Things seem to be a bit slow on this group, I've only joined to find a few people doing the same approach. I would have thought that a whole food sushi is fine. Brown rice and veggies wraps in nori has to be good for you!
  • i looked on line the other day at what were the cheapest sources of protein. Per gram of protein milk and eggs came out well, above both lentils and beef, which is surprising. As protein is the most expensive part of a diet in the UK this is a good place to begin.
  • drinking ginger beer.
  • I lose weight easier when I eat a bigger portion of my daily calories before midday. Ie stuff my face at breakfast.. Porridge with fruit and low fat yogurt, with bacon and egg and mushroom and tomato grilled sets me up for a day of activity and no grumbling tummy. Stops me from needing to eat snacks and junk.
  • Our water is probably safe, however we are in United Utility area and it tastes really bad. Strong chlorine smell and taste. Though the online sample testing info says it has no residual taste! I use a Berkeley gravity fed Ceramic filter to deal with this.. I like my tea to taste of tea.
  • Its cobblers. If I took notice of it I'd have disappeared by now!

  • I joined WW about 10 weeks ago and for the first time in 20 years am steadily losing about 1lb a week. I don't buy WW products, I've always home cooked from scratch and continue to do so as I enjoy cooking. No one forces you to buy them Just like no one is standing by the sweet counter in the supermarket forcing us to eat…

  • I was 220lb at my heaviest and am now down to 194. It's not been easy, its been plodding and sometimes it's been upward or stucknat a plateau, but now that m really getting into it and see 2016 as the year I will get to my target weight. Learning that one day of eating too much or the wrong thing is not the end of the…

  • I used to be a member. It was a great fun way to get out and meet people, as you point out. I might well join them again. Thanks for the reminder, I'll read your blog later. Well done, I did the Anglezark Amble earlier this year, it was tough as I'm still very overweight, but a thoroughly good day out, with tea and cake at…
  • I find that I don't lose weight if I eat back the cals for exercise. But were all different, try it is the best route, if you work out your tdee then knock off 500 or 20% Cal's you don't need to eat back the calories and should loose steadily. At the end of the day you are your own experiment. Try something, play with the…
  • I'm a female 70lb overweight and love mountain biking and road biking. I tried ultra running, did a 30 miler off road, but my knees and back dont like running. Open water swimmings fun, the fat is an advantage. Try canoeing its a sit down sport. Just get out. What motivates me is feeling ruddy fantastic after a session.…
  • Scoop of whey isolate in a pint of skimmed milk and a banana.....
  • Recovery is as important as the exercise. In fact it's during the recovery from any exercise that your body adapts and supercompensates to make it was asked next time. Don't over do the enthusiasm. Sleep well, eat after a workout and build gradually.
  • Eat veg to fill up. I was always starving until I discovered the trick of eating as much veg as I could fit on a plate with my meals.
  • I joined we recently, to go to meetings, mainly as a way of making myself accountable. Can't tell you if I'm losing as its my first week, but I certainly feel it. I eat veg instead of the zero point fruit as I suspended c it would be easy to eatntoo many Cal's. I'm on 27 points, wwhich seems to be about 1300 Cal's a day.…
