I wouldn't worry about the frequency. I used to go at least twice a day. Now I generally don't go more than every second day. I mix 1/4 cup of fibre cereal in to my regular cereal, or in with a smoothie every morning to keep things moving "smoothly" :)

The easiest way to still get what you want is to remove the parts of it that you don't need that add calories. I love egg mcmuffins and found that I enjoy them just as much without butter or cheese which brings the calories all the way down to 230. For lunch I always go with either a cheeseburger or a Jr Chicken with no…

Nice work! You're doing great.

First of all, why do you care what other people think? What other runners think if your "worthiness" of being called a runner are irrelevant. Do what you enjoy and don't worry about other people. That being said I hate the treadmill, running outside is much more enjoyable to me. I listen to podcasts most of the time.…

Fair is where you go to laugh and play, not something that happens day to day...

I agree sounds about right. You didn't put the weight on really fast, so don't expect it to fall off really fast either.

Carbonated water is acidic and will over time damage your teeth, especially if you're drinking it 24/7... But primarily because drinking that much of anything other than water on a daily basis is just plain gluttonous. Would you defend drinking 6 cans of 0 calorie beer daily? Don't get my wrong, I love my diet coke/coke…

Dr Pepper (diet and regular) has 100mg of sodium/591ml, your loss was probably water weight as you suspected, from removing a substantial amount of salt from your diet.

People can argue until the cows come home about regular pop vs diet pop but the simple fact remains that if you are drinking 6-7 cans of ANY pop a day you have a problem....

2 eggs and a piece of bread, I like to coat the bread in the eggs and fry them together, lazy man's french toast lol

There's nothing wrong with eating potatoes after 7: I would either run first thing in the morning, or else have a light snack and then run before supper.

Good for you sticking with it. Lucky for me my family has all been very supportive of me the entire time. I would have had a very difficult time sticking with it if I had to endure what you did! My admiration, you have it!

Jesus christ, all people can usually talk about is how selfish and entitled kids are these days. Here we have a sweet 19 year old who is hard working, has her life on track, and to top it off is also GENEROUS AND CARING. I am dismayed, and extremely disappointed with every single person suggesting she did anything wrong,…

I hear that semi-regularly, I honestly don't care if they think i have lost enough, i'm losing it for myself, not for them. I usually just reply with "well thanks, i'm glad you think I am looking better". Just because I don't care doesn't mean I need to be rude about it.

One of the best side effects of eating so much less was that now it takes far less food for me to feel full, so I can still get that full feeling but it takes a reasonable amount of food to get there.

I'm in exactly the same situation as you. I was expecting it somewhat though, I was quite overweight for a long time. Is it ideal? No. Is it better than being overweight, in poor shape, risking diabetes and whatever else in the long run? HELL YEAH! You're worrying too much about what other people will be thinking of you.…

Last week i had a 3 hour layover in LAX so instead of sitting around doing nothing I walked laps around the terminal the whole time. Definitely started to get some strange looks as I passed by the same people for the 15th+ time, but on a full day in airplanes and airports I didn't have many options!

These work great and they're dirt cheap for bluetooth headphones. Battery life lasts way longer than advertised too. http://www.amazon.ca/Kinivo-BTH240-Bluetooth-Stereo-Headphone/dp/B00AWIPITS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1412564525&sr=8-1&keywords=kinivo

You look great man, I understand how it feels to be critical of your own body, but seriously you are in a great place. Hit the gym and you'll get it sorted out. I'm at 188 right now (300 at heaviest years ago) and can only hope that my moobs eventually end up the size yours currently are...

Definitely the same thing happened to me. I don't even know if how I eat now is classified as clean eating or not, but I generally only eat home prepared meals, try to keep the grease and sugars low, way more fruit and veggies than I used to have in my diet, and I stay away from sweets and pastries etc. The effect has…

Awesome, great work!

The first few weeks are the hardest because it doesn't feel like you can run much, but it will build quickly. You can do the couch to 5 k, it eases you in very slowly. If you're motivated you can advance much quicker than it would have you do (but there is no need if you aren't in a rush). The important thing is to not try…

Great work man! I agree about the drugs, why take them when it's a problem within your own power to solve, more power to ya!

Thanks everyone, I definitely feel younger!

Also remember its a virtual guarantee that it looks far worse to you than it does to anybody else... I still look in the mirror and have a hard time seeing anything but a big gut and man boobs, despite the fact that i'm wearing 11" smaller waist jeans and M shirts instead of XL... We just aren't fair to ourselves.

Great job!!! I still pull my shirts and pants off the hanger and think "pfft there's no way i'm going to fit in to this", and then I do. It's like xmas every day :P

For me personally, caffeine will temporarily curb my appetite in the short term, but 2 or 3 hours later it actually makes me far MORE hungry, and also induces nausea if I don't eat or drink more coffee in that same 2-3 hour later time frame. Obviously i'm not saying "this is what caffeine does to people", i'm just saying…

Nice work! I was so happy with being able to do a 5k this summer that I decided to run a half marathon this fall, just ran it last weekend and finished in just under 2 hours, was a blast! Keep it going! Going from 5k to 10k is not that hard, and 10k to 21k was even easier.

I'm not at the gym to show off, i'm at the gym to work out... I wear t-shirts because they wick away more sweat.

Yep, almost all prepared food is loaded with sodium. Low fat? Lets make up the flavour with sodium. Less sugar? SODIUM!!! You get the point... My wife cooks most of our meals at home with fresh ingredients, and we can't even eat at most restaurants now, or at least have to be very careful what we order. Now that i'm not…
