Let me try again. I do a lot of cardio. My life is swim, bike, run, repeat, it seems. Also I do bodyweight exercises (plank, push ups, burpees). I've really started incorporating weights, and I'm seeing gains in my strength. I get the need for resistance training. But I just don't get why people are against cardio.

Hello! I'm Anna -- mother of two living in Virginia. I completed my first tri last week! It was a sprint, and my times weren't great, but I fell in love. So wonderful training hard and accomplishing such sport. Looking forward to more races and getting to know you all. Good luck to you!

Hello, I'm Anna. I think I joined a similar running challenge over the spring, but I petered out posting miles. I'll endeavor to improve Tia go 'round. I run 3-4 times a week, anywhere from 1 to 4 miles. Just started being consistent in the past couple of months. Since May I've trained for my first Triathlon ( a sprint),…

I've begun training with a local group, and I already can tell it's going to be super helpful. The coaching and tri pros are just what I need to,push me along.

I'm checking out this thread because I, too, have decided to sign up for my first triathlon -- a half mile swim, 10k bike, 5k run. It's in August, but I found that same Irongirl site and it suggested I could be ready in 11 weeks. I have confidence in myself, but that doesn't mean I'm not nervous. I haven't swam…

Great story. Could you, or others, point me to resources to begin lifting? I've taken Body Pump classes, and I like it, but I wouldn't say that was heavy. What , exactly, does heavy mean? Do machines count?

Crummy work out cardio wise yesterday. But I did rock the strength training. I fear having enough time to finish my challenge miles. My husband will be gone all week, which means I do not get to exercise out of the house because I have to watch the children. I usually can't run more than 3 miles a day, and that's a…
