I'd say get a heart rate monitor and then log whatever the DVD is with calories burned from reading the heart rate monitor. And your intensity with a workout can make anything high impact. Good luck.

Once I wore mine from the time I woke up until I went to bed. It was a normal day without a workout and just the wake time it said that I burned about 1250-1300. Agree! Walk, don't run to start. Then when you are comfortable with that start jogging between specific points. Pick a mailbox and jog just to the second mailbox. And so on. Yuck!! I never could take fish oil pills cuz they repeat on me for three days. Finally found MEGARED. it is a krill oil. You can get it at wal-mart or SAMs club. Hasn't made me sick, feel bloated, or repeat on me yet. Good luck.

If u are just starting out, maybe just go for a walk. Nothing fast, just work into it. Or if You can get some hand weights lift while watching TV. I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one. Thank you for this post. I started here in September of 2012 at 168 pounds. I've lost 22 pounds and only one pants size. Ugh!!!! Hope to maybe fit in one size smaller in another five pounds or so. Good luck!
