I have been going up and down in dieting for years; I feel like a yo-yo. Why is it so hard? It is hard to start and so easy to stop. I am so tired of feeling so tired, unmotivated and depressed. I am ready to take the bull by it's horn and do this. But then the evil side of me is thinking the bull with either run me over or I will end up eating him. Sigh.......

Please add me as a friend and with support and motivation - maybe I can do it this time around and/or motivate someone else.

How did you do it?
What motivated you?

Lord help me ~ MFP Friends please help me

Thank you

  • Hi IslandMom. I know that feeling well. I never knew how really depressed I was until I looked back at it. I have been on here a while. I love this site. When I first started I weighted 240 lbs. I now weight 176. When I started I didn't have any energy whatsoever. I couldn't even enjoy time with my son. He would beg me to come play with him and I would just say maybe later but later would never come. Truth be known I just couldn't do it. Now I am playing basketball, running and going on hiking trails (he loves these and so do I)
It has been a long hard road with many ups and downs. You are going to fall. Everyone does at some point.. Don't beat yourself up. Instead plan for it when it happens. It's not the fall. It's how quickly you get back up. Truth be known one day of weakness doesn't hurt you but several days will. Jump right back on track when you fall and you will be successful and don't beat yourself up because you gave into weakness for one day. I had to learn this the hard way. Beating yourself up or conviencing yourself you have messed up everything by slipping will not help you at all. Don't let it get to you and just right back up every single time it happens. And with me it happened a good bit lol. But I survived and have lost over 60 lbs. :) I have a long ways to go yet but I will get there. My GW is about 150. I would love to have you as a friend. Please feel free to add me. :)

If you are willing to log daily and open your diary, I'd love to have YOU on my support team too!

    It's certainly NOT for sissies.

Friend me and ask me about a group to help you with support and motivation. Never underestimate the value of joining others on the same track.

Please free to add me as a MFP buddy, I hope to motivate you and help inspire you to want to do more. I know it can be hard at times, but having someone to either vent to or look to is a blessing. For me it's now a lifestyle and happy to develop the two way support friendship. Good luck.
