  • Just back from 2 weeks on hols and managed to keep the running going in between sunbathing and cerveza/sangria!! DATE MILES (TOTAL) 01/10 4.67 (4.67) 02/10 REST 03/10 2.66 (7.33) 04/10 3.1 (10.43) 05/10 5.07 (15.50) 06/10 REST 07/10 2.37 (17.87) 08/10 REST 09/10 4.64 (22.51) 10/10 REST 11/10 3.49 (26.00) 12/10…

  • Yep - my wife is much happier now too - snoring was getting to be a real problem - disturbed night for her and bruised ribs for me! Since cutting out beer and cider and losing a bit of weight, peaceful nights are the norm! edited to make clear that it was me that was the problem snorer, not my wife! (not sure how clear…
  • After attending a charity ball last night, driving home and getting to bed for 2.00am, I got up at 8:30am and ran a 5K PB of 26:10 in the pouring rain. Now shattered but happy! :drinker:

  • I'm in. finished C25K and looking to match September's total. 1st Oct - 4.67miles
  • Joined today - although it seems my miles for yesterday don't count!! Oh well, extra miles called for!
  • 46 - recently completed the C25K programme and have continued with the running - now upped it to every 2 days - minimum of 5K each time but building up my duration and also adding in some intervals of faster and slower paced runs. Play 7 a side football (soccer) 1x per week. Planks (daily), press ups (alternate days).…
  • That's reassuring to read that it's not just me (about the voices!!!????). Well done on the 6 miles. I'm looking forward to stepping up the distances and hopefully improving the 5k time too.
  • Didn't think it could be done but I'm sitting here having completed week 9, day 2 yesterday. Ran a 5k in 26:48. When I started, I really struggled to get my breath at even the 1min jogs. IT CAN BE DONE PEOPLE. NEVER GIVE UP!!! I still struggle during the first 5 mins of each run with the "voices" telling me my legs are…
  • As a non-smartphone user - I've got runkeeper on my pc. I plan out the routes ahead of time and have a stopwatch with me as I go. I then just log the activity afterwards! #technodinosaur
  • That's some improvement in times! Looking forward to something similar! Cheers for the info.
  • Outcome is still related to getting my weight down a bit - I believe there will come a point where my heart rate doesn't get high enough to get me burning fat through "just" jogging - hence the interest in interval training and occasional sprints Yep, I've heard that increasing mileage will give me better speed back down…
  • This morning was week 8 day 3 - completed just over 3 miles in 26:40. Last Saturday I went for it and completed a Park Run (5km) as part of my week 8 schedule - unfortunately it was the day after an all-day wedding so it took me 29:44 (and I'm convinced I was sweating red wine throughout!!!) Will try another Park…
  • Looking forward to Park Run now that I got through the wk 5 day 3 section - that was looking like quite an obstacle. Park Run should be good and I'm led to believe that times are not that important - it's the social side that appeals to many. Only reason I'm leaving it to week 8/9 is that I'm not keen to attempt it while…
  • I too completed my Week 5, workout 3 this morning! Jog for 2 miles or 20 mins without stopping. Plotted out a 2 mile circular route from the hotel front door and completed it in 18mins 40 secs!!! Happy days!!! Really never liked jogging/running (without a ball at my feet) but have to admit to getting more into it workout…
