That's because diet and exercise is the only thing that has been proven to work.

If you are a David Foster Wallace fan, his new biography is wonderful: "Every Love Story is a Ghost Story".

What is the big appeal to the show? I watched the first episode and wasn't impressed...is it one of those "you have to watch the first season to get into it" shows?

All over Europe. I lived in London for 6 months and would gladly live there again if the opportunity came up again. I have no nationalistic tendencies.

If you can find a California Zin, the real red, not the 80's style white zin, go with it. Usually they are very reasonably priced and the quality of a Cal Zin is much higher for the cost than most other California reds. I'd go with a Central Coast label, because they've been producing Zin's longer, with older vines, but if…

I had no excuses, that is why I have accomplished my goals.

There are no tips to get more patience....you have to realize it. You appear to already understand this takes time and you are seeing the small, steady improvements, so you should continue to focus on that.
-
I did, and got to goal weight, now I'm doing TDEE because it makes more sense.

How many meals you eat is irrelevant in your weight loss. It is more about what you are eating and how many calories you consume. Eat 1 big meal a day if it gets you your macro's and fits within your calorie goals, if that is what you wanted to do.
-
At your height/weight you should be eating somewhere near 2000 cals a day. I'm 5'7 160 and I ate 1980 for .5lb a week weight loss, so I KNOW you should be eating more than me. Up your calories and lift heavy.

So, there is some schools of thought that the marriage racket is exactly that, a racket. Why should 2 cohabiting people not be able to get similar benefits as those with a piece of paper? throw in that there are still people in this country that CAN'T get married, even if they want to, and many refuse to get married…

Alex Rodriguiez, before steroid scandal. Sat next to him during at UM baseball game when he was still with Seattle. He was very friendly at that time.

I eat at a reasonable calorie deficit and I work out harder on the weekends to compensate.
-
THIS. I think you don't understand this nutrition thing. Besides the fact that 90lbs at 5'3 would be underweight, according to every measurement, you can't diet your way to the body you want. You need to eat close to maintenance and lift heavy. You won't get bulky, but you will shape your body. "Tone" is a meaningless term…

Yes, also, figure out your TDEE and eat 20% below that...stay consistant and keep at it.
-
I eat when I'm hungry as long as it meets my goals.
-
Just break up....with the scale that is.

One, I have a realistic calorie goal, and two, I pick drinks that have more bang for the caloric "buck". Gin/Scotch are your friends! Sweet/Sour mixers, are not.
-
Take an advil and convince yourself it is a diet pill.......the placebo effect is real!
-
I'm always suspicious of "Metabolism resets", but if you have been doing body weight exercises and have stalled on body changes, you might want to think about lifting heavier. Stronglifts might do both, inches and weight in the long run.
-
Eat more than 1200 calories....that is most likely too low.
-
Agreed. it isn't a miracle anything, but I have noticed my recovery from heavy workouts is quicker when I'm been on creatine.
-
This is a joke right? What would showering right after a workout have to do with anything??? I'd challenge your step mother to produce peer reviewed studies to prove any crap she is saying...

I get it by looking at basic math. If I consume 1500 cals of hamburger and 1500 cals of "clean foods", i'm still consuming 1500 cals and if that equals a deficit I will lose weight. Now, that doesn't mean I'm "healthier" on 1500 cals of hamburger, but I CAN get the same weight loss results. Not to use one person's results…

Gin Martini Dewers on the rocks Jack and Diet Coke

This is not true at all......weight loss is calories in v calories out. Eating "clean" as they say, which can have multiple meanings, CAN provide you with types of foods that keep you more full thereby helping you not overeat, but it isn't in itself the answer. Do you work out/exercise? If so, what is your routine?…

oh come on, most children's songs have odd lyrics, for example. "Little Bunny Fufu"? , "London Bridge"......

don't make mantra's, things change to quick.

10lbs in 3 months? Think about it this way...if you continue that ration, you'd lose 40 lbs in a year..i'd say that is a pretty damn good thing! Keep up whatever you are doing.....

I live in California.....so.....60's and sunny, pretty much the usual :)
