  • Spartan Beast in three weeks!!
  • Pull ups, push ups, burpees, and bear crawls. As some one that has done a sprint, and is about to do a beast, these muscle groups are definitely important. As for the running...find some trails and run an hour two to three days per week. Once you maximize your hour of running you'll do great! Aroo!!
  • Patriot, Jailbreak, Savage and Spartan Beast. Next year the Spartan trifecta.
  • Spartan Beast in Glen Rose TX!! 12/14/13
  • For me? None. If it tastes like crap why eat it? I pick recipes and make them. If they do not taste good then I know who to blame.
  • Yeah, my social is 000-00-0000. It is the first one because I am old. I trade in sticks and rocks so I have no bank account. I don't use credit cards because they are against my religion and I do not know my mother so the Maiden name is out. But THANK YOU for being so insensitive as to bring THAT up for me.
  • My old DI used to say that we must be rich to get such a large diamond. He would make up overlap our hands.
  • As if a Hot Pocket isn't scary enough on its own?
  • I hope I don't lose my man card for this but.... .... any love story that the wife gets me to watch and one of them dies in it will get me every time. OK, I need to go kill something and lift something heavy so I can stay in the man union. Afterwards I will celebrate by drinking beer and doing something stupid so my…
  • So the last few weeks were rough. I stumbled a little bit but overall I am doing well. Going vegan is hard work but I am sure that I will get the hang of it and be fully vegan before too much longer. I still have cravings but I am not going to kill myself over it.
  • Stop taking the meds. It retards muscle rebuilding. Go to Walmart and get a foam roller pad and use it to massage the muscles. It will hurt but that will stop the hurting much sooner than waiting. The other option is if you have a massager available. Use it on the sore muscles and that will help also.
  • You don't need to believe it. Fact is fact. When you go too long between meals your body gets catabolic and starts to destroy muscle for fuel. I do not want to start an argument so you should do what you want but if I worked hard to get the muscles I wanted I would certainly not do anything that would undo that. There is a…
  • Harsh but I like it.
  • This is very true information. I agree with everything except the fat. There really is no such thing as healthy fats. I would get a minimal amount only. Let's see the food log. That will help.
  • I would try cycling carbs, drop the fat intake to about 10% and make it up with a mix of proteins and carbs. I am guessing about what IF is but I assume it is fasting for a short period of time. If you want to do a cut cycle then you need regular intakes of nutrients to keep the fat burning. Otherwise you will stall your…
  • OK, I finished another week and I am doing OK. There are a few times that I have eaten something and wondered if it was vegan of not and didn't look to see. I felt bad about it but I am not going to beat myself up too badly. I am still learning and will continue to make adjustments and improvements. This is a lifelong…
  • Hmmm... I'll have to look into that. You ain't lyin'! Being a vegan in "beef country" is a serious no no. Is there any wonder I carry concealed.
  • I have finished my first week as a vegan and i honestly am enjoying it. The only trouble is that I lost 7 pounds last week. I am not wanting to drop any so I am going to hope that it was just my body adjusting to the new diet. We will see. This week will let me know what to expect from this diet and any adjustments will be…
  • "TOPIC: Got fondled by my spotter today doing squats..." I really don't know what to say to that.....
  • Normally I would comment about how amazing that is or how sexy you look but I saw the gun. Guns and girls? Seriously sexy. Btw, WAY TO GO!!!!
  • Harsh much? Nah, it's cool. I appreciate harsh. I agree that not everything you eat will taste good. I have given up many things over the last two years that I liked because it wasn't good for me. I do still have a few vices but I am doing my best. Right now I am doing well with the rice protein and the sweetened almond…
  • The E2 is simple. It is an oil-free vegan diet. Basically, eat whole foods only and don't add any extra oils to your food. I actually like whey protein. I have tried Vega Sport and almost gagged. Since I am moving to vegan the whey is out. I will definitely look at some pea protein. I use The Vitamin Shop for my…
  • I am hoping that it will be great for me. I am not looking to lose weight so we will see what happens. I have bee trying to get used to rice protein but it is gritty. I did drink some today in some almond milk and it was palatable so there is hope.
  • Today is day one of the E2 diet. I am optimistic. I have an entire week of foods already planned and ready to go. This should be easy. I am not even craving anything...yet. ;-) In truth, I have been vegetarian for over a year and have had no cravings for meats at all so I am sure I will be fine.
  • In truth, nothing. I am eating a bowl of fresh spinach leaves with a little lime juice and some powdered Italian Dressing mix. Low calorie, nutrient dense and WONDERFUL
  • Tomorrow I am going grocery shopping for foods to get me through the week. I will be starting my full vegan journey Monday morning. If anyone has any recipe or food idea I would be glad to hear them. I am going to start with the Engine 2 Diet and see what looks good. I am very optimistic at this point so I am not expecting…
  • I appreciate all of the input thus far. I am pretty confident that plant sources of protein are sufficient to support a persons needs. I am also trying to be cautious and learn from others' experience and put that with my own research. One thing that I am going to need to consider is how much MORE protein I am going to…
  • Is that it!? I could eat two of those in a sitting.
  • Y'all are most welcome. I hope that others will see this and use it. I have it printed and posted on my refrigerator.
