  • Today has been good so far. Weekends are always more difficult. I don't eat more food but the wine gets in the way.
  • I would love to join this group. I am currently 147 but have been 118 not too many years ago. Not sure what happened well actually I am sure. I need to lose at least 20 lbs but obviously 25 lbs would be better. I'm 54 years old with a thyroid disorder and PCOS , osteo and pretty much no metabolism. Doctor only allows me to…
  • I am under doctor's care for hypothyroid and am also having a very difficult time losing weight. I am 4'11" and eat about 1000 calories which my doctor authorizes due to my height. Still not losing anything. Frustrating to say the least. I would be interested in any ideas besides walking 5k daily
  • I have hypo thyroid and PCOS. When I pay attention I lose but when I don't I gain. It's a fine line.
  • Northumberland County about 1 hr east of Toronto
  • Number 6 is not an excuse but it does slow down weight loss. Your metabolism slows down and if you have not been an avid exerciser your muscles don't exist so is all takes time. Not impossible but takes longer to achieve.
  • I think no matter what type of diet, you need portion control. If you eat too much you gain. I tend to eat around 1000 calories and am not losing weight and am under doctor supervision so I seem to an exception to the rule.
  • I have to lose between 20 - 30 lbs but it might as well be 100. Very difficult and need help staying on track. Don't track very well on weekends but on track during the week. Will have to try to be more diligent on weekends.
  • I have hypothyroid issues along with parathyroid issues and am also taking levothyroxine. Usually eat between 1000 - 1200 calories daily and walk mainly. I have done this with a dietician and lost 60 lbs but have gained about 20 back. I am under 5' tall so need to track carefully. When I pay attention to calories I lose…
  • I have PCOS and a underactive thyroid and abnormal parathyroid so can certainly relate. Perhaps if I would have dealt with my health issues earlier on my problems would not be so serious. I have found that consistency, healthy eating, exercise and working with the doctor are all required. I have been up and down on the…
  • Very exciting. Good job.

  • why the fixation on a size? All designers sizes differ so really the size is irrelevant.
  • Depends on why you have a obese belly. I do also but I have had three C-sections and my abs are unlikely to tighten up. Unless surgery is an option which in my case it is not.

  • Sounds logical to me
  • Hi there. I'm 51 and having a very hard time with this weight loss. I am going to the gym three times a week, attending school on-line and working full time. I do really well during the week but the weekends are brutal. Too much wine, too much food, etc. you get the picture. I am only 4'10" so am eating below 1200 per day…
  • don't starve yourself and be careful how much you exercise you can risk burnout. Quick fixes don't work
  • I would love to be part of this group. So motivating.
  • My weekend was a disaster. Way too much alcohol, not enough exercise. Back to it today, I find it easier at work way more structured.

  • eating plant based is difficult. I tried to but my vitamin B levels became low and I had no energy. I don't eat meat everyday and buy organic free range chicken and pork. My fish is either organic or wild. Good luck in your vegan journey.
  • I'm 4'10" and have many health issues. Eating 1000 I lose very slowly. Exercise three times a week includes weights and whole body exercise. Have lost inches but not really a lot of pounds. Looking to lose about 20 at least.
  • part of the reason I don't tell anyone I'm trying to lose weight is because some idiot decides that I don't need to. Who do these so called friends think they are. I think that when your doctor has provided you with advice and you are listening to it, it is not the business of anyone but me and my doctors. Just my two…
  • I would think that enjoying to cook food would make it easier to lose weight. I have the opposite issue, I don't like cooking or preparing food and must do it anyway. Just one of those things like exercise and brushing your teeth. Wish to did enjoy it more.
  • Hi all. I would love to join your group. I have about 20lbs to get off my frame and it is very frustrating. I'm taking in about 1000 calories, am under doctor's supervision so the calories are her idea. Sometimes I have a hard time eating that much but sometimes I have a hard time not going over. Depends on how the day…
  • Hi there, I'm 51 and trying to get off 20lbs so would really love to be added. All support is greatly appreciated on this end as well.
  • make one small change a week and you will notice a difference. It doesn't have to be all or nothing
  • My husband of 25 years is not very helpful either but he does eat the healthy meals I prepare and if I don't buy the junk food then he doesn't tend to so do either unless he comes grocery shopping with me.
  • Feel free to add me as well. I'm trying to lose 20 lbs to start and then maybe another 10. I've never tried being part of the fitness pal community before but would like to start. I've lost weight a few years ago and got down to a good weight but being short it is more difficult to keep it off. I've also had health issues…
  • My weight loss is crazy slow. I have medical issues like an underactive thyroid and a really slow metabolism. I am under the care of an endocrinologist who advises me to eat 1000 calories per day. I'm really on this but not losing any weight. I also strength train three evenings per week and try to walk two days for about…
  • perhaps there is more sugar and chemicals in our food and some people are more sensitive to them.
