  • When I was 351 pounds, I ruined 2 machines that had 250 and 300 pound capacities, so spend the extra $ on getting an elliptical that is able to handle your weight. I like Pro-Form.
  • I've been stuck for about 4 months! Hit my goal weight of 144. (I'm 5'5") Wanted to get to 138 for "vanity" reasons. Got down to 142, but jump between 146-148. I am much more toned and fit, so I know I am more lean, but damn those numbers on the scale! Coming to terms with being okay where I am at, living with a few pound…
  • I love to slice zucchini, put it in a baking dish and top with some tomato sauce and mozzarella/parmesan cheese. Bake it until tender...it's fantastic! Also, baked acorn or butternut squash is really sweet and tasty, too!
  • Chicken/turkey breast Eggs Fish Cottage cheese/string cheese Tofu Greek yogurt
  • I LOVE swai. It doesn't taste "fishy" at all and the texture is very nice and flaky. My son will even eat it, and he doesn't like other types of seafood. He actually calls it "chicken fish" because it has such a neutral flavor.
  • Fruit in general seems to get a bad rap from many fad diets. It's about as natural as it gets, just like vegetables and whole grains! Yes, it has sugar and carbs, but it's NATURAL!!!
  • I JUST made (and fell head over heels in love with) steel cut oats this morning...in the crock pot! 1 cup steel cut oats 4 cups water 1/4 tsp salt 1 peeled, diced apple dash of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves 4 servings Put on high at 5:15am before working out, house smelled awesome and it was ready to eat at 8:15am! So…
  • Adding protein powder to liquid over 130 degrees will cause the powder to clump up. I've tried the Click espresso protein powder and it's pretty decent.
  • I am a Quest Bar fanatic and have never had a freshness issue when ordering directly from Quest. GNC and Amazon, yes, I've had harder/chewier bars from both places before. These homemade bars are okay...gave the rest to the husband to take to work because they don't taste like real Quest Bars and aren't worth the extra…
  • Soooo....if it takes me 20-30 minutes a day to log my food, can I count that time as exercise?
  • I weigh between 142-146, 5'5" and wear size 4/6 pants (size small workout pants) and medium tops.
  • Just made 2 batches today, one chocolate and one cinnamon. Used chocolate peanut butter protein powder, agave and the ground flaxseed. Texture is weird. Not sticky, but more damp sand like. I could make a sandcastle out of it. LOL Tastes really good, hoping they firm up in the fridge. Otherwise, I'll be eating it with a…
  • 5am M-F and 6am on the weekends or when on vacation. I am a horrendous wench until my daily workout is complete...hate having it looming over my head all day until it gets done. It's best for everyone if I do it early. :blushing:
  • Washing dishes Pushing grocery cart SMH as I delete them. :noway:
  • Awesome work! New sneakers are my favorite reward!!! A new purse and wallet was a reward for me as well, but sneakers are my favorite!!! :flowerforyou:
  • I"m sitting there on the bench with you.
  • I just got the Fitbit Flex 2 weeks ago Sunday. Still learning to love it, but I must say that it is motivating me to get in a few extra steps or minutes of exercise in at the end of the day to hit my goal and buzz to alert me that I made it. :blushing:

  • I feel your pain and am right there with you! You can totally beat the addiction, though. Every day is your new day. Excited for your wedding...you'll ROCK the beach!!!
  • I ran my first 5K at 230 pounds...you can do it!!!
  • I'm not a doctor, either, but I am a WLS patient and I TOTALLY agree with this. If you are a binge/emotional eater, WLS isn't going to fix the problem. I know this for sure and for certain and live with it every day. WLS is not a forever fix if you're not prepared to make forever changes.
  • I read on my Kindle when I'm on the elliptical. I'm focused on the workout and working my *kitten* off. I have the elliptical set at a high intensity program so that I don't slack off while reading. I'll occasionally read while on the treadmill as well, but it's tough to focus on reading while running at a moderate…
  • I could have written your post, pretty much word for word. :frown: Today I am such a horrible funk about it. I've lost a TON of weight, I know. I exercise daily...and *almost* enjoy it, track everything, but I am so sick and tired of the scale moving up and down the same 5 pounds, even though I am working so hard. I am OCD…
  • We recently joined Planet Fitness and it was pretty much just to get my husband and teenage son more active. I am content to work out at home with the elliptical, treadmill, gazillion workout videos/Fitness Blender, light weights/resistance bands and run. We like it there and I count any workout I do there as extra since…
  • It will!!! Don't be discouraged! :o)
  • It's all good! I was 11 pounds heavier the day after my surgery and it took a good 2 weeks to get rid of that. It's mostly water from the IV fluids. After that gets out of your system, you're going to melt away. Hang in there...your body has no choice but to drop pounds for the next 9 months or so! :o) Walk, walk, walk!!!…
  • Hands down, the BEST protein shakes I've had are Syntrax Matrix mint cookie shakes, powder found on their website. Tastes like you took a whole box of Thin Mint cookies, dunked them in milk and then drank the milk, crumbs and all! Do your best to get your protein in. Many times with the shakes, it's mind over matter, and…
  • I lost the majority of my weight, (85% of my excess body weight) within a year (200 pounds). My surgeon has done thousands of surgeries and has had only one other patient lose that much so quickly...she started at over 500 pounds...and he said he would expect to see the amount I lost in someone after 2-3 years post-op.…
  • Fantastic work!!!
  • Absolutely! I only recently got a gym membership to keep my husband and son moving.
