  • I had this issue last month. I stopped my normal workout routine. I started doing yoga stretches. Adrienne on YouTube has a video for sciatica that helped. The only exercise I have been doing since the pain started is walking, paying close attention to posture and stride. It took less than a week to feel a difference. It's…
  • I can't do that or I'll get drunk, lol. I usually just make super filling low cal choices during the day and make sure not to skip my workout. I never drink more than 3 drinks though- usually straight liquor, wine, or vodka soda depending on the occasion. I don't drink beer unless I'm at a fancy bar that carries a gluten…
  • I have a ton of loose skin after having 4 babies. I'm currently about 50 lbs lighter than my last pregnancy. Once upon a time, I was over 70 lbs lighter. The skin in my family is not very "elastic." Part of it is genetics. My tummy sags. And it might sag more once I lose this 20 lbs again. I'm currently fine with it. There…
  • I'm not a chocolate fanatic. But I do love treats. I'll find spending extra on something "nice" helps me savor it. I also miderate my groceries. I'm celiac and three things I miss are donuts, buscuits with gravy, and muffins. I grocery shop weekly and give myself a weekly budget of calories for treats and will buy myself…

  • This is what my doctor has recommended for me. I have been struggling with autoummune related fatigue for years and it's gotten really bad lately. The last few years of my life were high stress (divorce, moving, homelessness, stolen car, twice, and used bike for transportation, deaths in family, working too many hours a…
  • It's a flip hub. Made by mbikes here in town. Nothing fancy. I ride single speed most of the time when I just want to get from A to B, and fixie when I'm playing around. The crank is currently broken, and I'm riding my lady who I've named Frankenstein. She's a cheapo old thruster frame from Walmart with rando parts I've…

  • My fiance is a nighttime eater. He's in a band, And often has 3-5 drinks when he's at the bar, and come home and eat late at night. He'll often skip breakfast and eat in the evenings. He's not a calorie counter (yet), but it's an idea that might help. Another idea could be to maybe not buy snacks? Only keep things in your…
  • Before now, all of my weight loss has been post partum weight loss. I remember staying with my grandma through my divorce/ and to help care for her before she lost a battle to cancer and my clothes were getting tight. I thought her dryer was shrinking my clothes, lol. I fully realized I was gaining weight back after seeing…
  • Super excited to have a child free night last night with some extra calories to fill at the end of the night. It was lovely to enjoy a special "mama treat" aka a couple of drinks, to close out the day. Guilt free.
  • Laughing does help. Quite a bit. The neighbors and I have gotten the cops the patrol more. (In both directions). There was a drive by random murder last week of a 3 year old boy on my street, and the guy hasn't been caught yet, as well as uptick in other random crime (ohhh spring time in the city- and the gang wars and…
  • I started using planet fitness. I'm not the type of person who does heavy duty workouts and their plan was exactly what I was looking for. I've been really happy there. Tootsie rolls sit out, but I've never seen the other treats. I wouldn't be tempted either way, as I'm celiac. The lunk alarm goes off multiple times daily,…
  • It's right outside my neighborhood. If I turn left off my street, I'm mistaken for a prostitute. If I turn right, I get all the offers for a ride. My street is a circle, so both ends take you to the same main street. It's in Atlanta, so a bit different than New York. While on two mile walks, I'll only see 2 or 3 other…
  • I don't love eating. I think I gained weight in the past making lazy food choices (high calorie foods). I'd eyeball portions, and that was it. I would just say "oh it's time to eat, what can I cram in my mouth to get this out of the way?" I'm so busy and eating is just another thing on my to do list. Now that I'm making…
  • I do carry a taser. I don't carry a gun bc I can't bring myself to keep one in the house with my kids. I've tased people before when they overstepped. I almost stabbed a man who broke in through my back door a few months ago. I'm not the lady these guys want tom mess with. Even though I can confidently defend myself. I…
  • I struggled with those muscles for a while after kids. It is the last place I gain weight and first place I lose. I started feeling strength in that area by simply walking. Then I started riding my bike and that area was very strong and didn't feel as soft. Eating at a calorie deficit is the perfect combo to see results…
  • Every person I know personally who receives food stamps, does so gratefully, and also works 50 or more hours a week. What about demanding a livable wage instead of assuming every poor person is lazy?
  • Being self employed isn't quite the point, it's the food preparation options homeless/ poor folks have access to. I feel confident that I made the best choices I could make given my options. I don't think I could have changed much during that time. The lack of having a fridge or a stove puts a huge dent in the food I had…
  • I feel like so many people are taking the humanity/ culture out of eating. Aside from that, don't forget the people who only have a microwave for cooking, limited to no refrigeration, and might not have the kitchen options you propose. There was a time my business plummeted, I struggled to get more clients to stay on my…
  • You can do it!

  • Congrats! I'm also getting married in July. I wanna be a hot wife. It's good motivation!
  • I'll do yard work, jillian, 7 minute workout (several times), or yoga with Adrienne (on YouTube). I also try to stick little workouts in my day: while cooking dinner, I'll do pushups or leg lifts using the counter top, or other arm exercises. I keep my weights in my living room (just 10, 15, and 20lbs) to stick extra…
  • Google fit is just an app on your phone. I calculate calories burned by taking my heart rate during my workout and do the math. I'm really out of shape from illness and my heart rate is normally 150-170 just walking fast on incline, so calorie burn is up there, but never as crazy as it shows once synced to mfp.
  • Multivitamins Vit D Mag Probiotics Fish oil Sometimes doc puts me on iron infusions, but I'm currently on the pill B12 Occasional spirulina when needed Ashwagandha
  • Peanut butter. I love it.
  • Never keep it in the house. I haven't given up soda but I save it for special occasions. When I'm at the bar, I'll get ginger ale. Or I might get soda on a date night with my man. I usually order water first, and if I want something else, I'll get it after I've had water. Not drinking soda is awesome, I have so many extra…
  • My calories burned are always off. I sync my workouts through Google fit, mainly because it shows me my workout steps (when I walk on a treadmill) vs. my IRL steps in daily life. It syncs super weird and I get an obnoxious amount of calories extra that don't seem to line up with my math. So I simply just keep that in mind…
  • Yes. Most people with autoimmune issues (especially more than one) visit the doctor very frequently. Celiac combined with giving up gluten is the primary reason my doctors have given me for my lack of period. Their testing and evaluations are frustrating because no one seems to give concrete answers. Malnourishment is a…
  • wait Thank you for this suggestion. I have been struggling with my periods after going gluten free bc of autoimmune issues. I have plenty of body fat and my current only exercises are walking, yoga, and occasionally Jillian on my good days. I just downloaded this book to my kindle and after looking through it, it appears…
  • Yes, my breasts fluctuate quite a bit with my weight. Thankfully, they don't get saggy in spite of pregnancy and breastfeeding over 7 years through 4 kids.
