I think this statement is totally ON target. It saddens me to know of people who stay within their calorie goals, but are eating a diet lacking in healthy, living foods, and suffering a myriad of health issues.

msuffel78's post inspired me to dig out my Devotions for Dieters book, and I found that I had written this scripture on an index card to serve as a bookmark: For the kingdom of God is not eating or drinking, but righteousness & peace & joy in the Holy Spirit. Romans 14:17

I really wish MFP had a 'LIKE' button; so I guess this smiley will have to do

For me, eating "clean" aka fresh, organic, natural or minimally-processed foods reduces my cravings. I'm not an extremist, but I do believe that our bodies were not designed to metabolize chemicals & additives & artificial enhancers.

Simply awesome post. Finding out that you're doing laps with breast stroke rather than traditional rhythmic-breathing crawl encourages me to look into joining the Y & give it a try.

I agree. And I record 'net' calories burned also; assuming I burn about 80 cal/hour (or 1.3 cal/min) doing absolutely nothing.

Yep. That's why I started tracking Fiber instead of sugar. Since I've already chosen to eliminate the obvious sugars in cake, candy, pies & processed foods in my diet and try to eat more whole, fresh foods, I don't really feel the need to 'count' sugar grams. I also try to avoid artificial sweeteners and rely on stevia,…

Unfortunately, SilverHills is not available in Ohio. My preference is Ezekiel sprouted breads (my husband likes it for toast but not sandwiches); I recently found a couple Pepperidge Farm whole grain varieties: Ancient Grains & German Dark Wheat (yum!)

After reading your post I went to YouVersion Bible and this is the first thing that popped up: "How do you feel about being misunderstood today" https://www.youversion.com/notes/7585055 My thoughts & prayers are with you,

Cut it in half. Scoop out seeds. Place cut-side down on plate and cook in Microwave. I 'think' I started with 5 min. Scoop out fibers with fork; it should resemble spaghetti. Top with your favorite pasta toppings.

Best wishes. I can relate to the yo-yo syndrome. I've decided for myself that, even when I reach my goal, I'll have to maintain awareness of what I'm eating & stay accountable (to myself) by contining to keep a food diary (MFP is such a great tool for that!) for the rest of my life.

Balsamic Vinegar is more calorie-dense than whole milk??? I don't think so! Perhaps they meant BalsamicVinegar Dressing, i.e. w/oil? I checked the bottle I have in my pantry: 5 cal - 1 tbsp(15ml) There would be approx 13 'servings' of 15ml/ea in 200 ml. 13x5=65 calories

Sounds yummy.... Did you have your chicken on the side, or stir-fry it with (before/after) the garlic & ginger?
-
Have you tried "mashed cauliflower"? kinda like a mashed potato substitute I usually mix the cauliflower with the potato (half/half) -- keeps the smoother texture but cuts calories in half

My first goal is to fit into the dress that I'm wearing in this MFP profile pic; I pretty successfully avoided the camera as my weight got higher  I think I'm really close...

If you're referring to the Net when you run a Report, I've found it to be really quirky. It has something to do with how it calculates exercise. It totally confused me when I started; now I rarely, if ever, check Reports. The most helpful thing for me is the "Complete this Entry" feature, which estimates what you'd weigh…
