  • Let me rephrase the question- of course, I know that pooping doesn't make you lose weight. I'm saying if you are going #2 more often with the clean eating and do you feel it is aiding to your overall weight loss. Meaning, do you believe the more you poop the healthier the body and cleaning your system? And I'm not talking…
  • I know and I don't "eat" what I workout because I was told that's not good either. Still struggling to get higher than 1400 calories a day and usually sit in the 1100-1300 range most days. And you're so right! One cheat meal didn't put me over my calories that day but I thought- oh man I will gain 3 pounds and nope- LOST…
  • Sounds good! I've been sticking to a low-glycemic "diet" (I'm using diet loosely because it's not really a diet) and will up my intake for sure and see what happens. My doc recommended I stay in the 1100-1300 range last check-up but again, I noticed when I would intake more, I would lose more. Which somehow boggled my…
  • And I'm very aware of the outcomes post the pills and trust me, I know what I am doing when it comes to eating clean and working out. And I have been this way for 2 years so I don't want to hear the you need to eat a clean diet and workout. Yes, I have been doing that and again, not going into my whole medical history.
  • Well I 'm not going to go into all of my medical history here but I'm on another hormone to aid in my weight overall so this shouldn't be happening either. I did notice that when I ate 1200 calories that's when I would lose the most weight and maybe I do have to up the calories due to my activity so I will try that out.…
  • Haha that's good! I guess my body is now craving what it needs which is always a good thing. Just hope it stays that way post phen!
  • I'm still going to try to tell myself that it's not worth it! Had a birthday cheat meal and was not even close to finishing it AND my stomach is not happy. Totally not worth it! But I thought I was going crazy because the bad food is blah to me now! I've been craving apples and oranges this week! Haha weird!
  • Good!! Just keep plugging away!!
  • A generic synthetic?? And it didn't make you gain any weight that you know of?
  • Right, well definitely give it some time but if it still doesn't work then maybe ask about getting your hormone levels checked? Your story sounds similar to mine so hopefully, you get some answers soon cause it's totally frustrating!
  • I'm pretty shocked that your doc prescribed phentermine but of course, they know your medical history better than I do. I was under the impression it was only given to those in the obese BMI category. I was on metformin and did gain weight on it. I was on a strict low carb diet and exercising + teaching Zumba 4-6 x a week.…
  • OMG! I thought that was just me! I have a cheat meal once a week and holy crap- I take a few bites and then I'm done. I always think "I wasted my cheat meal on that??" Haha but so glad that it's common. I haven't eaten anything that has made me want to "eat" the whole thing or crave more.
  • That is awesome!!! Keep it up and just chug that water!! The dry mouth is awful when you workout haha!
  • Very good points, idojpdx! And yes, I can agree that age plays a huge factor in weight loss. When I was in my early 20's, the weight would come and go and now that I'm aging, it's at a slower rate. But I find it somewhat of a blessing so you can adjust to the amount loss and not have your body go into shock mode. My mother…
  • LLAKE62- Thank you for reaching out and I am so sorry to hear about your daughter. I started getting suspicious about my weight problem over a year ago. I am very active and typically a clean eater so I know weight should be coming off for me in general because I never had a problem with weight loss in the past. So, I…
  • Junebuggyzy: That's what I've been averaging- about 5 pounds per two weeks. Some weeks it is more and some weeks it is less. I am working harder these next two weeks for a wedding I am going to but won't be bummed if I don't make it. I've got 4 pounds left and wherever I am at for the end of March, I will be happy! I'm…
  • 2 of my best friends were on it- One lost 50lbs and has kept it off + has had additional weight loss in the past year and a half since starting it. The other friend lost 60lbs on it and went back to bad habits and gained it all back + I am about to finish my first round of it and at 26lbs lost and have had a great…
  • Charloo1990- were they prescribed by a doctor? If so, your doc should have adjusted the mg and put you on a lower dosage. I am on 30 mg and only have dry mouth and little spurts of energy. My sleeping is fine but I'm a restless sleeper anyway so don't really see a difference. No headaches or chest pains either and my doc…
  • Hi Junebuggyzy! Noticed you on my thread too. Not sure if you touched base on this too on the other topic- BUT how many calories are you taking in currently? And what does your daily food intake look like? Protein? Veggies? It really depends on the week and what you are doing for exercise and food. I had the 2 pounds per…
  • Awesome! I like that you have a realistic goal for when you will achieve your total weight loss!
  • I had that mentality at first too that I just needed to lose at a quick rate and I noticed that thinking slowed it down. As weird as that sounds. My boyfriend said to me, "It is better to lose at a steady rate vs all at once because you are more inclined to fail if it's all gone at the beginning" and I do believe that. We…
  • I had this issue as well at one point but then upped my calories a bit (At one point- I could only get in 800-900 calories per day) but once I hit 1200 calories the weight came off again. Try changing up the workout routine too!
  • How is the amino acid L-tyrosine working for you? Do you find that it is helping?
  • Uhhh false. Thin people are less likely to eat until they are physically full, just until they are not hungry anymore. As a result their stomach are more sensitive to stretching, which is what causes that uncomfortable full feeling. People who gladly eat to fullness at every meal will become less sensitive to this…
  • My best friend is still on met. and was on phen about 2 years ago and she lost about 40 pounds in 4-6 months. And she has kept it off + losing additional weight AFTER the phen! I think she's around 50-60 lbs lost total with it all! My doc did put me on met. and sadly, it made me gain weight AND I wasn't on phen either.…
  • Great work!! How long has it been since you've been off of the pill?
  • Love the last line of that!
  • Definitely not the same drug as phen-phen. As I stated before, my doctor said "Phen Phen" was the bad older brother and 'Phentermine" is the good younger sister. They have similar results and potential side effects but they are not the same.
  • That all makes sense and understandable. I don't think we are all naive to think this won't happen but it is common after stopping the pill. As I mentioned above, had two friends on phen- one continued with the weight loss post the pill and one didn't and gained it back and then some. It really does vary on person to…
