I'm 4'10.5" and around 130 pounds right now. I've been as high as 170 during pregnancy. My goal is 1000 - 1200 calories eating high fat low carb... which allows me to not feel so hungry.
-
Here's the thing though... trying to jump from VLC to 1000...1100... even 1500 is an absurd expectation for someone who's experiencing anxiety about food, weight, calories, etc. And she's not going to die by adding in 100 as she's comfortable. To say it must be "all or nothing" only reinforces the anxiety and is more…

I am 4'10" and 1200 calories is too much if I'm not exercising. I can only eat 1200 and lose/be my good weight if I am exercising. But that's just me. I think we're all different. I'm short! The difference between me and "petite height" (5'4") is the same as someone who is 5'4" and someone who is 5'10"! Think about it. :P…

I don't understand why people do a freakout when they see short people and a short person's desired weight. I'm 115 lbs and 4'10 and have LEGITIMATE fat hanging off me. Like, muffin top and all that jazz. I feel my best around 90 lbs..and my weight range is 88-120 or something like that per the BMI. Everyone's ideal weight…

I can hardly SEE my muscles until I get to 100-105 at the HIGHEST...but I'm 4'10". Have you tried Bodyrock.tv? The women that do the (free) program ROCK! What is your natural build like?
-
The Gap CurvyBootcut (Sexy Bootcut? something like that). They last the longest, even though they're mad expensive. One pair can last almost a year, if I don't wear them every day.
-
4'10"... 115 lbs at 34 BMI... between girls size 16 and petite misses' size 2. And that's with TONS of rolls. Because I'm so small. :( At my healthy weight, I wear a girls size 10. Oy. Try finding stuff without rhinestones!!!!
-
I use rich powdered creamer and stevia.
-
4'10"... I could really use fellow petite friends! :/ I wear kids clothes when I am at my ideal/healthy body weight (usually <100 lbs). At least girl's clothes and shoes are cheaper. :P

Have you seen Bodyrock.tv?
-
I'm 4'10" and since I can fit into "girls" size clothing, my clothes/shoes are cheaper :)

Steak!

This isn't just at the larger end..it also works at the smaller end, too. Women's clothing should really be standardized by the actual garment measurements or something. At least on sewing patterns, there is some consensus! :/
-
At 4'10.5", I just wear kid's clothing. The proportions/lengths fit better when I am within the size ranges listes (girl's size 12-16), and I just figure that I am "kid-sized", so I might as well wear kids clothes when it doesn't look too prepubescent. *shrug* I am tired of fighting with "petite"-sized clothes. It's…

Gap has good-quality under-size-4 petite clothing. Banana Republic does also, and their sizing is smaller than others, so you could get away with a higher size there (a 6 or an 8) and still wear their stuff if you lose more weight. However, they are PRICY.
-
Well.... I'm 4'10.5" - 4'11", and it's just cheaper to buy girl's clothing sometimes. I am tired of trying and altering women's clothing, when basic girl's clothing (especially the basic crew-neck shirts, yoga pants, etc) are SO much cheaper. Just my two cents! Then I can go to the major brands - Gap, Old Navy, PS from…

Hey! I hope I can join you guys. I am pregnant, but doing modified P90X...I started again today with week 1. I also "eat clean", a la Tosca Reno. I can't recommend that diet more! (Look up "Eat Clean Diet"). I don't count calories too much on it. I replace ab ripper/core synergistics with a pregnancy dvd. Anyone doing a…

Sorry. I should have posted this. Here's a link for some shoulder exercises: http://ladythrills.blogspot.com/2008/02/5-shoulder-exercises-for-women.html You can also do triceps, too, as well as biceps. Just keep the weight comfortable for you, always support your balance, and listen to your body! Obviously, no push-ups (do…

I do modified P90X (Due date = Dec 13th). I am generally somewhat fit normally, though (I'm not a couch potato), so this works for me. I listen to my body. Walking isn't enough for me!!! I keep my protein WAY up, though...closer to 70 grams or so that they recommend. Otherwise you won't build the muscle you need and still…

I don't know. I follow Tosca Reno's (of Oxygen mag fame) "Eat Clean" diet, and I am pretty full on it, even though I end up eating more calories than I did when I ate "diet" foods. I feel better, too, overall. Since I am getting enough fat/protein/carbs on this diet, as well as water, I am not hungry. I wouldn't eat ice…

So true! A few pounds and our clothes feel different. It's awesome when we lose weight. :D
-
Same here! I'm 4'10.5" and would love to hear from others in the same boat. I don't care ifyou are bigger or smaller (my highest weight was 165)...we all know what it's like being short! :D
-
It's just irritating that MFP has to yell at us for going into starvation mode... Like I have said elsewhere, I wear GIRL'S shoes. Do people REALLY think us shorter peeps should eat as much as an "average" adult, when our size is clearly below average? :P That's like telling a tall model that their minimum caloric intake…
-
YES. I am 4'10.5". I used to eat between 1300 and 1700 calories, and was about 115 lbs and had plenty of fat (especially around the middle, thighs, upper arms, etc) I now eat around 1000-1100, am not hungry at the end of the day, and am steadily losing weight. I'm down to 109 right now, goal is between 90 and 105,…

I'm about 4'11 (give or take half an inch...lol) and my body likes to rest between 112 and 120. My goal is really more like 95-105, depending on muscle. I hate being this small. :/ What are you doing for exercise? Maybe bump calories up or down?
-
I lost a little, but not much. I find it helps with my weight-loss goals because I have a very, very compelling reason to avoid gluten (which, for me and my system, also includes chocolate, corn, and excess dairy). My inexpensive options are naturally healthy: fruits, vegetables, meats, etc. Nothing too processed. My…

I second this. I make protein shakes and breakfast bars a snack. I find it keeps my levels more stable, and keeps me eating regularly (every 2-3 hrs).

Just my two cents, and I am no expert, so bear with me: Being a 4 foot, 10.5 inch woman who has decent fat rolls, curves, and an 32F cup bra at 115 lbs (pant size between 0-4 at that...grargh), I feel I can speak about this "minimum". Just like I can't drink as much alcohol or coffee or whatever as others, I can say that I…
