  • Looking to add some motivating friends ... if you are a positive person and also seek some encouragement, please add me. In particular if you are over the age of 50 we will have more in common.
  • Would love to join the group. Trying to get back to my logging, etc and could use the laughter and motivation!
  • That's an awesome loss!
  • Fantastic! :flowerforyou:
  • Awesome job ... keep going until you reach your goals!!!
  • I started this journey once again at 199.8 lbs. I stepped on the scale this morning for my Wednesday weigh in and with some good eating the past few days I am proud to say that I weighed in at 197.6. Every pound down is a "WIN" I hope everyone else is feeling successful! What is everyone doing to keep on track?
  • Sounds like a great challenge ... count me in. FR sent.

  • Same to you Angie ... I hope you have had a fantastic day!!

  • Hi, my name is Debbie I currently weigh 178.6 I would like to lose 51 lbs. I am committed to this challenge and look forward to the many challenges My weaknesses are bread, bread and pizza A random fact: I went skydiving for my 40th birthday.
  • Okay, so I messed up. My sister invited me to this challenge and I was excited about it ... however I did not pay attention to when it started and now I am behind and not listed on any of the teams. Can I still get into this?
  • At 5'5" and 150 lbs. you are probably right where you need to be. Why is it that everyone thinks you need to weigh 110 lbs.? I'm 5'3" and when I weighed 150 lbs. I was wearing a size 6. I can't tell by your picture but maybe you are more muscle than fat. Ditch the prescription and do it quick. I can't even believe the…
  • Get a nice walk in ... but don't let your mind tell you that you have already blown your day. Just work on eating healthier the rest of the day. If you are consistently doing good, one day over your calories will not hurt. Also, if you are battling the same couple of pounds it may be time to up your calories. I had to do…
  • This is a topic that hits very close to home for me. My husband was recently diagnosed with HBP not because he is unhealthy, but because it is hereditary. He is in great shape. I have been looking much closer at my own sodium intake as well. It is amazing how much sodium is in so many products. The actual target that is…
  • I too was a HUGE drinker of Diet Pepsi. I could drink a 64 oz. bottle a day and have done so for many years. This past Christmas I told myself that I needed to quit. It's not so much the sodium in a soda but all the other artificial ingredients. I just stopped buying it and I started drinking unsweetened ice tea with a…
  • I'm glad you brought up this topic. I just said that my new goal is to stay under the sugar count that MFP gives. I have been going way over on a daily basis. So, I started some investigating. Although fruit is a healthy option, the dietary goals is to only have two servings of fruit a day. Given that, the goal on MFP…
  • Yep, logging a marinade is difficult. One suggestion is to create a recipe. If you do that and enter in all of the things you are putting into the marinade you can then divide out the servings. Let's say you end up with 1 cup of marinade. You are probably only using 1/4 of that when it sticks to the food. So divide out the…
  • Well NavyMommy, I love your ideas! I have decided that I would reward myself with a new outfit for every 15 lbs. that I lose. I am on my third dietbet and I love that it helps me to stay focused. I have not gone beyond buying myself a new outfit. I really figure that losing weight is all that I need as a reward.…

  • This is my third DietBet challenge. I love it! It keeps me motivated and gives small goals that are attainable. When you have a lot of weight to lose, like myself, it can become overwhelming. Having these smaller goals has been great. I have won both of my previous bets (just squeaking by). DietBet does take a cut off the…
  • Hello to all the MFP and DietBet folks. My name is Debbie. I am 48 years young. My journey to weight loss has been a long time coming. I met my husband about 8 years ago and when we started dating, I started gaining. We were living in the DC metro area and we ate out a lot. We worked long hours and did not feel…
  • Thanks for starting this group. I think it's a fantastic idea! This will be my third dietbet and I am loving it. The folks there and here on Myfitnesspal are always so friendly and inspiring. I hope everyone meets or exceeds their challenge.
  • That's awesome!! :-)
  • I agree with not using the exercise amounts on MFP. I use the elliptical all the time. I am 187 lbs. 48 years old. MFP states that I burn almost double the calories that my Elliptical (which is set with my info) states. I checked today using my bodybugg and the difference between my elliptical amount and the bodybugg was…
  • Feel free to add me. I'm 5'3" and have been as high as 209. Currently at 188 and working my "weigh" down. :-)
  • I am 5'3" and currently weigh 189.0. I started out at 209 last year. I can totally understand about the exercise thing. Take the steps one at a time and you will get there. I currently eat 1200 calories on MFP however I try to exercise 3 times a week. I have also been doing a Dietbet challenge. A website where you put…
  • Actually, believe it or not, you probably need to increase the amount of calories you are eating daily. The body will go into starvation mode when it is getting too few calories. When I worked with a personal trainer I was eating somewhere around 1600-1800 calories per day and would still lost weight. The key is to make…
