Hi Carrie, The best advice I can give you is to get the book Mini Habits: Smaller Habits, Bigger Results, by Stephen Guise. Read the book and start with small mini challenges. Forget about loosing the weight fast. I'm sure you have tried that before, and it didn't work out, like it didn't work out for the rest of us.…

AnnofB, texasgardnr, PinkyPan1, zichab, ireutner, drbcru, alip253, you are doing fine. You just need 2.5 miles per day for maximum health. Anything above that will only marginally add to your overall health. In fact so little that it's hard to detect with scientific studies.

You sure do :D zichab, 16 miles, great

64/76 (2189) I'm at the Deep Gap Shelter. 12 miles to the North Carolina border, which I plan to hike in two days. Feel very tired, no energy for doing much other things. Today I listened to

56/71 (2189) Walked 10 miles today. I am at Tray Mountain shelter. I have 15 miles to the North Carolina Border. I'll plan to reach the Deep Gap shelter to morrow, 8 miles up the trail. In five days I've walked 56 miles. That's the power of focus. When I focus on ONE thing then everything else becomes secondary. That is…

This is what I've read and it has been confirmed by a Danish study. The Benefits of Walking* 40% lower risk of early death. * More energy, less tired. * Reduced depression. * Better quality sleep. * Lower risk of coronary heart disease and stroke. * Lower risk of colon and breast cancer. * Lower risk of type 2 diabetes. *…

46/71 (2189) Walked 10 miles today. I am at Chattahoochee Gap and will camp for the night. I'm all wet due to the heavy raining, but I'll hope that my clothes will be dry come morning. I plan to make it to Indian Grave Gap tomorrow, which is 7 miles up the trail. My heel and ankles are hurting each morning, but they loosen…

36/71 (2189) Made 12 miles today, in total I have walked 36 miles. I am halfway through Georgia. Right now I am at the Tesnatee Gap, where I will spend the night in my tent. A very strange thing happened as I passed Blood Mountain Shelter, the highest point on the trail in Georgia. I was there all alone, taking a rest, and…

24/71 (2189) Have walked 24 miles and have 47 miles left, until I come to North Carolina. I plan to walk another 7 miles tomorrow and pass Neels Gap at the Vogel State Park. I can inform you that it is very cold out here. The snow is knee-deep and the mountains are high, slippery and unpredictable. Today I mainly listened…

OMG 100 pounds, it's fantastic :D :D I lost 22 pounds in May-Sep and gained 20 pounds Nov-Feb. Mainly because I lost my focus and got involved with other things that took my interest, Be aware that the "old ways" are there always lurking waiting for you to lower your guard >:) . /Alex

2189 miles :cold_sweat: . That is my goal for the next 24 months. It averages 91 miles per month. Why 2189 miles? Because it is the length of "Appalachian Trail". Only, I will not hike that trail, instead I will do "Neighborhood hiking". Yes I will hike just like pro's, but from my home as a base. It has a couple of cons…
