Incredible! Hours later and still she hasn't acknowledged that seeing a doctor if she thinks she has a tumour is a sensible thing to do. She also hasn't the basic good manners to answer people who tried to help. Delightful. Perhaps if she's only developed this attitude recently we can assume rudeness weighs 7 pounds.

Ah gotcha. :D
-
Enlighten me please? :)
-
She has been repeatedly told that (because it is obviously the most sensible thing to do) but chooses to entirely ignore it and won't give a reason for not going to a doctor. Strange. Takes all sorts I suppose.
-
Yay! I was getting worried there. ;-)

Hey, have I become invisible to everybody or is it just the OP that can't see me? Incidentally OP (if you can see me), I (up to now) gave you no sarcasm, just polite advice and asked you why you weren't going to a doctor but you chose to completely ignore me.
-
Is there a reason you aren't going straight to the doctor? I'm genuinely amazed.
-
Your diary is locked.
-
I genuinely don't mean to be rude but why on earth are you not going straight to the doctor if you think you may have a tumour. You need to rule that out first and then you can address your diet on MFP but for now- GET TO A DOCTOR! Good luck. Hope you get good news. Hopefully it's something simple like you have been…

Hi there. Why are you planning on 1000 calories? If you are concerned about your health then you definitely need to eat more than that as it is an unhealthy amount of calories. I promise you that you can lose lots of weight whilst eating plenty (just not too much) of food. So don't put yourself through an extreme and most…

Intermittent fasting is how I plan to eat forever. I find it manageable/enjoyable and I never feel deprived or like I am 'on a diet'. Yes. occasionally a fast day is challenging but the good days outweigh the bad by miles. Definitely no going back to (a) Thinking 'Sod this. I am just going to eat like a pig because I can't…

It's all good. I tend to get a bit over excited about people who are (as I saw it) easily offended. Anyway, no harm in disagreeing. Especially when we've managed to do it without getting nasty. Have a good weekend. :-)

Hi newmeadow, I'm still of the opinion that if you click on a link expecting to find someone with a drinking problem and then feel insulted/annoyed/duped etc. then you are very easily bothered by very menial things. The OP got drunk and made a silly post. Simple as that. Nothing for anyone to take seriously or get upset…
-
I'm Irish. ;-) My confusion is in relation to people being annoyed that they came to the thread to find the OP didn't have a real drinking problem. Seems a bit ridiculous to me. :-D
-
I am still confused as to why anyone would be borderline insulted because she used the words 'alcohol' and 'problem' when she doesn't have what you see as a drinking problem. Why should it bother anyone that she doesn't have a 'real' problem? Surely that's a good thing? I mean being annoyed because you came along with a…

Borderline insulting? Because someone's problem is only a minor one and not serious enough? Strange...

I might just live forever then.

Yeah, that was a fast day and I lost my mind with the hunger and attacked a budgie. It's a plastic bird. I was being silly that day (and most days of my life :blushing: ). I've been vegetarian for 28 years so real birds are safe enough around me. Fear not!

Oh and regarding maintenance once you reach goal. I am perfectly happy to do 6:1 for the rest of my life to maintain. With the odd 5:2 thrown in if I've gone a bit mad at the weekend. Why not when it's so easy?
-
I do 5:2 (sometimes 6:1) for the last two years (with the odd fast few week here and there) and I love it, as do thousands of other people. I reached my initial goal weight earlier this year and now I've decided to lose another bit by Christmas. It is easy (for me) and I really enjoy the feeling of not being 'on a diet' 5…

Not something I am particularly interested in but as far as I understand it's something that involves eating mainly fruit, veg and pulses and avoiding processed packaged foods and fast food. But that's just what I've gathered. Also, it's something that makes everyone on here argue and repeatedly crack 'hilarious' jokes…
-
Just so you (and others) are aware- you are not doing the 5:2. You are eating a dangerously small amount of food which is not what the 5:2 is about. I love it and the reason is because on the non-fast day you can eat at maintenance and still have a weekly calorie deficit. That's the whole idea. You are restricting calories…

Christ on a bike, some people will get narky about anything. The woman was basically saying that a lot of things happen in life that we can't control (at no point did she say her examples were of equal importance) but luckily we can choose to take control of what we eat and it can bring us a bit of joy in our…

When I read this I wondered what a Quest bar was. I also wondered how many thousand calories were in them. I looked them up on here and found they have two hundred calories or less. Say whuuut?! :noway:

What she said. Good for you. I am rarely moved to comment on the forums but you really are doing an amazing job. :drinker:

I get mildly irritated when I (and other people) go to the bother of typing out a response with the intention to help the 'askhole' and then they never respond at all. I know people have the attitude that communication on the internet is different to 'real life' but to me it seems just as rude as somebody completely…
-
The fellow above me is correct. You can start right now. Eat what you like but eat less of it. :-)
-
@Iwishyouwell; Yes, I also think some form of intermittent fasting would be ideal too. I took a little time to explain why but for some reason got no acknowledgement? Maybe I'm old fashioned because I think it's rude to completely ignore someone when they 'speak' to you because on here it seems to be the norm. Somebody…

Edited because I included the person I was replying to's text with mine so it made no sense!

I can't handle constant calorie counting so I do 5:2 (or sometimes 6:1). That involves fasting (eating just 500 calories for two days per week) and eating 'what you want' on the other five days. Now obviously 'what you want' has to be within reason, it is always going to be calories in vs calories out so you are allowed to…
