Scared because dieting and gaining weight. Is it a tumour?

Please could you have a look at my past couple of weeks food and exercise diary. I started on 139lbs and have gone up to 146lbs. I'm sure I'm eating the right amount and I'm running regularly. I know that fluid retention, muscle gain etc make a difference on the scales, but I have never, ever weighed 146lbs before and I'm a daily weigher! I'm actually scared that it may be a tumour that is causing the extra weight. I have ruled out pregnancy. Can you help? Xx

Looking at your picture and estimating your age, I am wondering it could be hormonal? Do know how ever stress can make you gain as well and looking at your story it looks to me you are very stressed about your diet and weight.0

I genuinely don't mean to be rude but why on earth are you not going straight to the doctor if you think you may have a tumour. You need to rule that out first and then you can address your diet on MFP but for now- GET TO A DOCTOR!

After a careful review of your post, I determined that it is not a tumor and it's simply a case of eating more than your maintenance calories. I prescribe eating less to fix the problem.

You look absolutely fab, no doubt, but looking at your face you look to me like you're not in your 20s anymore, more like end 30s to 40s. So I am wondering could it be you're heading towards menopause. We all know what that can do to someone's weight.
But still best to have a proper medical check up to rule everything out.

TOM, water retention from all the sodium you are taking in, miscounting calories because you are assuming the wrong serving size when logging, etc

If I thought for a second I had a tumour, I wouldn't be asking for advice on a weight loss forum. I would be seeking advice from medical professionals.

Not at all, I am just trying to work out why I have gained 7lbs recently whilst eating 1630 cals or less per day and exercising! It seems ridiculous0

If you aren't weighing every food item on a food scale, i can guarantee you're overeating in calories. but i second TeresaB's post. if you think its a tumor - go to the doctor0

A tumour is a bit extreme... You've probably underestimated what you've eaten.
Also, why weigh daily? Once a week will suffice.0 -
Its almost certainly that you are underestimating what you are eating and overestimating what you burn hence you are not really at a deficit. A portion of the weight could be just your body fluctuating.
Seriously OP what led you to think it was a tumour? If you are worried go and see a Dr.

The weight gain led me to think it was a tumour. You hear of them being 6lbs or even more. I've gained weight but not gained size, hence the question0

Your diet is full of processed food so lots of sodium and no vegetables at all logged ...are you eating then and not logging
If you've changed up your exercise, are TOM or menopausal it could be water weight
If your size has not changed perhaps your scales need rebalancing or new batteries0 -
I think it could be too much sodium. A lot of your entries are generic like the tuna wrap from Sodexo. Unless you really did get a Sodexo wrap. I don't know.

Looking at your diary it isnt brilliant and not hard to see why you are probably overestimating. Its a bit erratic and ratehr than below 1600 theres lots of times you are over 2000 plus the exercise is minimal.
Please stop with the tumour talk. Go and see a Dr if you have any serious concerns.0 -
Was it a gradual increase and over how long? It could be water weight from your new workout routine. Could be TOM - I went down to 149 then up to 156 in 2 days on my last one. Could also be holiday eating- maybe you underestimated how much you've eaten. And time of day you weigh - I can easily weigh 5 pounds more at the end of my day vs the beginning.
If you're genuinely concerned about a tumor, go see a doctor. Otherwise, give it a few days and see what happens. If you keep gaining then re-evaluate what you're doing, see a doctor, and begin again.0 -
Do you measure your wine or eyeball it? After a while, 5 oz can start to look like 8 (at least at my house).0

Not lots of times! Perhaps just on weekends, also, just because I am over the 2000 some days it evens out over a week and does not account for 7lbs weight gain. My question to you all was based on my diary can you see a reason for 7lbs weight gain? The answer is no. That is why I was hoping someone could shed light on it. What I have come up against is a barrage of sarcasm. I think the problem here is that you see my picture and think " what has she got to worry about when we are all struggling" - well I am struggling too you know.0 -
