In all seriousness, this sssooo much. At 40, you should be happy where you're at. You're healthy, stop stressing so much. Go live life.
I'm 40 and am 106 pounds which is the same weight I was at 18. Being 40 is no reason to have to be happy where you're at if it's not where you want to be.

Ok,the amount if calories that MFP recommends you eat is based on your height and weight and how much you want to lose. It works out your tdee. If you eat 'over' it means you are going over the 'diet' amount. It does not mean you are going over your maintenance amount.0

Also, I'm not asking you why I haven't lost weight, I'm asking why I gained 7lbs. Based on calories over the past 2 weeks I shouldn't have gained.0 -

OP, again like others have said unless you are logging totally accurately using scales then you're likely eating more than you think. Also as I mentioned excessive sodium really can have an impact on the scale. And others have stated that that time of the month can also do that.
Seriously though, going from 0 to tumor is a little asinine.0 -

This has been answered repeatedly in this thread. You are eating more than you think.0 -

Well, you ate too much. That's why you've been gaining.
You have unintentionally been miscalculating calories.
It's okay. Just start weighing your foods and logging everything you eat. Eat only half of your exercise calories back.
Learn to be happy with you no matter what.

Y'all really need to stop talking about menopause. You're stressing me out.
Wanna talk stress?
"It's not possible. Be logical. He had the snip-snip. It is not possible. Don't freak out. You cannot be...Oh, GOD!...it's not possible..."
I guess getting older and possibly entering this peri-menopausal stage is better than pregnant. I don't have to shoot myself over menopause.
The insomnia sucks, though. When it happens, it isn't so much not falling asleep, but waking up and not being able to go back to sleep. That SUCKS.

Wow. Just wow.
If you were legit scared of having a tumor, you'd be talking to your doctor and not a bunch of strangers on the internet.
I don't blame some of the other posters for questioning whether this is a serious thread or not.

also, are you weighing yourself first thing in the morning each time on an empty stomach? cause your weight can fluctuate a lot during the day.0

My oncologist was more concerned with weight loss, even when I told him that I was dieting and trying to lose weight...
this is coming from a lymphoma survivor….
Weight gain is associated with ovarian cysts (benign or malignant).
And what's the incidence of malignant ovarian cysts in a 40 year old? Not high enough to be something worth posting to a scared stranger on the internet who's gained a couple of pounds.
I was simply stating that some forms of cancer can cause weight gain. So there's no need to jump down my throat.

If you're having any night sweats, even just before your period. If you bloat more than you used to. If you're noticing any insomnia... you could be entering the wonderful world of perimenopause. If that's the case: listen to everything grammy says above. Hell, it's all good advice regardless. But even more so as you wander toward middle age.
She eats over on sodium all the time it looks like. When I eat over on sodium that's a good 3 or 4 pounds I "gain", and just from one meal out at say Buffalo Wild Wings. Sodium and I are not friends, and I must keep it low or I bloat like mad.
Everything that you mention in regards to peri-menopause are all symptoms I've had due to the start of Hashimoto's.
I'm going to go with, if cutting out the excessive sodium and over eating doesn't do the trick then she needs to just go to a doctor.

So you are more willing to believe that you have developed a 7 lb tumor that you apparently haven't located yet than you are willing to believe that it is water weight, too high sodium, hormonal gains, or inaccurate logging that several people have pointed out because these are the most common reasons for weight gain. Interesting.0

Okay, I'm just going to put this out there. Maybe there is something medical wrong with you that is causing weight gain, but the only person who can tell you that for sure, is a doctor.
Also, even rapidly growing tumours will not weigh 7lbs in a 2 weeks span; that would be months, to years of growth, with very few exceptions.0 -

It's probably one of those new tumors that can take energy from the air.0

I don't overeat! On the days I went over I was only over the amount of calories it would take to lose weight. I wasn't eating over my daily recommended amount, so I shouldn't have gained.
Did you even listen to anything anybody has written as response?
I'll summarize for you:
1)Your logging isn't accurate, therefor you're eating more calories than you think
2)Your sodium is high, which can cause water retention
3)Hormonal issues (Ovulation, Time of the month)
4)Possible Menopause
I may have missed some other suggestions, but these were the main ones.
PERImenopause. I'm assuming she'd know if she has gone through menopause. She's on the young end for that. Not young for PERImenopausal symptoms, however.0
