HOnestly 6 -7 pounds are not the end of the world honey, but I don't think you are logging in correctly either , just 2 tbs peanut-butter for lunch , unreal. And , if this is real , step it up , eat more healthy foods though. Granted I only looked a couple of days , so I hope it's not one of the one day barely make it and the next binge eating kind.0

Ok,the amount if calories that MFP recommends you eat is based on your height and weight and how much you want to lose. It works out your tdee. If you eat 'over' it means you are going over the 'diet' amount. It does not mean you are going over your maintenance amount.
Also, I'm not asking you why I haven't lost weight, I'm asking why I gained 7lbs. Based on calories over the past 2 weeks I shouldn't have gained.
I think people have provided MORE then adequate answers. If you read your own response from July '14 post and your weight you'll be better able to answer your own query. You are in a healthy weight range for your height, period. Do we need to go through how much you weighed? Evaporation, perspiration, stress, hormonal issues, dietary intake like sodium, all contribute to weight fluctuations. Find happiness in something other then the scale and your life will improve. Good luck.

I guess getting older and possibly entering this peri-menopausal stage is better than pregnant. I don't have to shoot myself over menopause.
The insomnia sucks, though. When it happens, it isn't so much not falling asleep, but waking up and not being able to go back to sleep. That SUCKS.
Fall asleep. Two to four hours later, awake. Not just "woke up." AWAKE. No hope of going back to sleep.

ok this is for bumblebee. your calorie goal seems to be 1630 calories a day. that is WITHOUT any exercise. If you go over that 1630 calories without exercise you are overeating, even if its only 300 calories you still are overeating, If you exercise and burn those 300 calories that doesnt mean you can eat those 300 calories back . If you are relying on food packaging for accurate calories, fat, etc 99% of the time the packaging is WRONG and will not be the same, those weights and calories are ESTIMATES,
which is why you should weigh your food all the time. I can take 10 apples and none of them will weigh the same no matter if they are considered one size.you are taking in way too much sodium not to mention drinking too much wine, beer, etc which can also cause weight gain because you are drinking some of your calories. just running all the time isnt going to get you results either you need to change up your workout routines from time to time, including lifting weights or body weight exercises to build some muscle.
the other posters told you what could be causing it and with all that sodium you can weigh as much as 10 lbs more on the scale because of water retention. and so on.you have gone over your calorie goal many times and that will cause weight gain if you do it repeatedly. you are supposed to stay at your calorie goal to stay the same weight or eat a little less to lose weight. you also are NOT getting enough protein in your diet.make your own tuna wraps and get more fruits, veggies and water in your diet as well. also the closer you are to a healthy weight the harder it is to lose weight and sometimes even maintain it. this is a lifestyle you have to follow the rest of your life if you want to see results and you have to do it correctly. Its not that hard to weigh food and log it.0 -

Please could you have a look at my past couple of weeks food and exercise diary. I started on 139lbs and have gone up to 146lbs. I'm sure I'm eating the right amount and I'm running regularly. I know that fluid retention, muscle gain etc make a difference on the scales, but I have never, ever weighed 146lbs before and I'm a daily weigher! I'm actually scared that it may be a tumour that is causing the extra weight. I have ruled out pregnancy. Can you help? Xx
Many of us have done exactly what you asked, and given you suggestions but since you don't want to hear that it could be user error you get an attitude. So why did you bother asking people to take time to even look.
Get a food scale, learn how to log accurately or go see a doctor for your tumor.. your decision0 -

And then it hit me, lol. This always happens when a period is due...maybe it's hormonal. The longer I have to wait for the damn thing, the worse it is. And sometimes, the night sweats wake me, which just has to be hormones.
I must ask more old women how long this crap went on for them.
But I've just begun picking up on this.
Also starting to notice that those awesome days that follow a period...when I don't get them, I'll be having another one soon!
I really hope that when it's all over, it ends on awesome time and not PMS time. I don't want to feel PMSey for life.
It all sucks. And I REALLY have to lose all this weight before it gets worse. Women past menopause have SUCH a hard time losing.0 -

for most people to lose weight if they eat their exercise calories back they gain weight or hit a plateau. what is the point of working out and burning those calories to lose weight if you are just going to eat them back or more? isnt that defeating the purpose?yes,if you burn more calories in general you can eat more but that doesnt apply to everyone . you are supposed to burn more than you take in correct?

If you are following MFP (which is based on the NEAT Method), it puts you at a deficit and eating exercise calories back maintains that deficit. Having too large a deficit can actually be counterproductive.

The way MFP is set up, exercise calories are not included in your deficit. When you do exercise, you're expected to eat them back to keep your deficit the same/fuel your body. However, the MFP database overestimates calories burned, as do cardio machines, so most will suggest to only eat half of them back.0 -

For the most part, exercise only helps you lose if you don't eat them back.
But there is still a point to doing it, even if you eat them all back. It's good for you. Makes you more healthy!
It just depends on your personal goals.0 -

OP if you think there may be something medically wrong see a dr. (Sorry, I keep seeing tumor in the title). I can't add anything to what has already been said.
Is it the same scale in the same place? My scale varies if I move it.
Once illness is ruled out you may have to recalculate your calorie goal.0 -

YOU ARE WRONG!! MFP sets me a calorie amount of 1630, which would make me lose weight. This is NOT my maintenance amount of calories.mi can actually eat 2077 kcal per day to maintain my weight. If I go over my 1630 but still under my 2077 I should not gain weight. In effect, I should lose weight for every calorie I eat less than 2077. Please can someone confirm this so I don't feel like I'm going totally mad!!!0 -

What you aren't understanding is that everything is an estimation. Calculators are estimating what your BMR and such are. You could try to get your RMR tested for a more accurate number, but seriously, you've gotten great advice in this thread and you just keep ignoring it. It's like you WANT someone to tell you that you have a medical condition or something.

I am sorry to say this but I think OP has a comprehension problem that is caused by her 7lbs tumor.
OR
I have now finally understood that OP has a body that works unlike any other, almost alien like. It burns less than it should, it refuses to let information in, and develops magical tumors. I recommend a psychiatrist visit.
OR
I hope this thread keeps on going for days
OR
I am sorry OP for not being supportive and making fun of you. Uncalled for. Please accept my apologies.0
