  • Hello. I started Keto on Monday and would love to have some friends please. I've been Paleo/Primal for over a year and have felt better than I have in years. Paleo/Primal is not a diet to me, it's a lifestyle. A huge reason being I can't eat gluten w/o getting sick with in 10 minutes. My weight loss has slowed down in the…
  • I am a busy mom too. Here are a few of the things I do that have made meal time easier. I have a "meal map" that I use to make my menu from each week. Sunday is leftovers (I don't cook on Sundays). Monday is always Pernil (roast pork) or a beef roast and that makes plenty for leftovers (lunches and/or dinners) for the rest…
  • I've been busy with the kids and not had time to log. I have stayed on track with my food though, so has my husband. My son has been off track a little, but that's fine. I was dead tired on day 2 and 3...so tired just lifting my arms was a chore. I am feeling great now though. I did weigh myself this morning though. I know…
  • Getting ready for this W30 was so much easier than my first one. There was only a couple things in the pantry that aren't W30 that I got rid of and my grocery shopping was nothing different than what I usually buy now. Total opposite of prepping for my first one. I had bags and bags full of poor food that I cleaned out of…
  • W30 goals: 1. Exercise: I will workout for 30 min 3x week. 2. Stress Management: I will spend 45 min Mon-Fri unpacking and decluttering my bedroom so that it can become a relaxing sanctuary for me.
  • That sounds so good
  • I got my grocery shopping done today, so I'm all set for starting tomorrow. My husband and 13 yr old son is going to do it with me.
  • Hahaha....that is so me!! Glad I'm not the only one that smuggles in paleo necessities.
  • I like liver but nobody else in my family does, so I'm stuck eating the whole amount. I have some beef liver in the freezer that I'm going to do this too. I could get my husband and kids to eat it this way.... "What’s on the trays? That’s beef liver, cubed and refrozen. Beef liver is extremely nutrient-dense, but the…
  • I didn't have my regular cup of BP this morning in preparation for the Whole30 I'm going to start Sunday or Monday. I made mine this morning with 16 oz coffee, 4 TBS high fat coconut milk and 1 TBS MCT oil. I liked it and will be switching over to that, at least during W30.
  • Last night was BBQ spare ribs and green beans. 1 rack was strictly paleo, the other was a homemade bbq sauce for the kids. I had a little and it was so good. My husband loved it too and he usually doesn't like bbq sauce. Tonight I'm making the salmon cakes and tartar sauce from It Starts with Food.
  • I am going to start Sunday or Monday. It depends on if I can get my rotating menus (2 weeks worth), grocery shopping done Sat and food prepped for it. I do much better if I start once I'm completely organized.
  • If you are eating conventional meats, then be aware that the fat in those meats are not that healthy. http://whole9life.com/2011/01/paleo-poor-your-guide-to-the-grocery-store/
  • Mine- 16 oz coffee, 2 TBS unsalted Kerry Gold, 1 TBS MCT oil Husbands- 16 oz coffee, 2 TBS unsalted Kerry Gold, 3 TBS MCT oil. (he sometimes has 8 oz with 1 TBS each of butter and oil in the afternoon if he has a project he needs to finish and really focus on) My kids- 8 oz coffee, 1 TBS unsalted Kerry Gold, 1 TBS coconut…
  • I always recommend the book It Starts with Food to my friends that ask me how and why when it comes to my food choices. The cookbook Well Fed by Melissa Joulwan was a HUGE help when I first got started. I have switched my whole family over (husband and kids ages 21, 13, 8 and 6). I started slowly, by cutting out gluten.…
  • I'm making this for the family tonight. I have some apples that have gone past their prime and need to be cooked. Thanks for posting this.
  • My husband and I started making BP coffee over a week ago and both of us are hooked on it! We started with stevia, kerrygold butter and a high quality coconut oil while we waited for the MCT oil to arrive. We are on day 2 of having it with the stevia, butter and MCT. My oldest daughter (college age) started drinking it…
  • The hardest part for me is not eating to much fruit or too many nuts. I did my first whole30 back in Sept and I really struggled with that. I started my w30 already and did good today. I had only 6 raw almonds and no fruit. No sugar today at all! The bacon I get doesn't list sugar in the ingred and none is listed in the…
  • Good list going so far. To add to what has already been posted: Ghee Plantains (green) Plantain chips Coconut aminos
  • I reset my macros, but left the calories at 1200. I don't really pay calories any attention. Sometimes I'm over, sometimes I'm not. It's my macro's that I monitor.
  • This meal template from Whole9 might help you. http://whole9life.com/book/ISWF-Meal-Planning-Template.pdf I don't see a protein with breakfast. Im betting the hummus is not W30. We are Not suppose to snack. Your meals should be filling enough to keep you going. As for dessert, having a dessert is not W30. Smoothies are…
  • I'm doing my second Whole30 in jan too. I've been having too many poor choices lately. A W30 is the best way I have found to get back on track. I'm excited to see there are several of us doing it together. I let a friend borrow my ISWF book. I hope she is finished with it soon. I need a few recipes from it.
  • These really are me! I even wear my vibrams to church. Lol My kids usually say "mom can't eat that cause its not Whole30".
  • Lol. I do or say so many of these. 25. You seldom venture into the middle of the grocery store. 26. You cringe at the thought of eating protein that grew up on grain when you don't eat it yourself.
  • I roasted a rump roast and made bacon-acorn squash patties to go with it. We had sliced tomatoes too.
  • I don't think of non-paleo foods as cheating. For me, eating primal/paleo is a lifestyle change, not a diet I'm on till the weight comes off. So when I eat something that isn't the healthiest choice, its a decision I made for whatever reason and I enjoy it. I don't pig out on it or let that one "off road trip" ruin the…
  • My fav snack comes from the Well Fed cookbook. I grill or bake chicken (thighs or legs) and abit of that and the following in ziplock bags: black olives, dill pickle, cucumber . Sometimes I switch it up and do carrots and pickled okra
  • . Oh good. That's what I've been doing.
  • We are having pork chops, curry cauliflower and Italian green beans drowning in ghee
  • You can add me. I did my first whole30 in Sept and am pretty consistent with keeping to a paleo diet. My husband and I are doing our second whole30 in Jan.
