  • Just because you are losing weight doesn't mean that weight is fat. It may be water, muscle, etc.. Train with weights rather than cardio and do not be afraid to train heavy and do compound movements like squats and deadlifts. These are the type of movements that will dramatically change your metabolism as well as body…
  • Alternate between flat bench barbell and using dumbbells. Once I started incorporating dumbbells more often, my strength and chest size and fullness went through the roof.
  • I've never tried fasted strength training but I have done fasted HIIT. I personally can't do it. I can push way harder and get better results when I have something in my stomach. But if you feel good and are getting results, continue on. As far as BCAA's with sucralose, I have been using Atomic 7 by Universal for the past…
  • Just do your thing. The more he sees how being healthy and active positively impacts your life, he'll come around. :)
  • I think it depends if you are wanting a really good blender OR a really good juicer. They are two completely different things. If you are going with blender then I would say Vitamix or Nutrabullet. If you are going for a juicer then I recommend the Omega VRT 330 HD or 350. They are slow masticating juicers that won't…
  • Awesome, Someone else knows about Layne Norton and his work. :) Glad you are getting the work out. I've probably posted that video 5 times on here.
  • I completely agree. :)
  • Funny I actually didn't suggest her to give up anything. I just stated if she is not seeing results, then something is not working for her and maybe she should play around with her macro nutrients a little . And if you actually believe the laws of thermodynamics are all that dictate metabolism and body fat then you know…
  • It absolutely does matter if you eat all that starch. Just because MY Fit Pal recommends it doesnt mean it is right for your specific metabolism. We need to stop treating the body like a simple math equation (calories in, calories out) and start realizing the complex biochemistry that is the metabolism. Clearly what you…
  • Kerrygold is pure Irish butter from grass fed cows only. Only ingredients are cream and salt or your can get unsalted. It's amazing!!
  • This may help http://youtu.be/QHHzie6XRGk
  • If you are hungry most of the time, then what you are doing is not working. You should work to find what works for you in terms of balancing your hunger, cravings, and energy levels. Certain fruits that are lower in sugar and higher in fiber are Blackberries, Blueberries, Raspberries, Apples, Pears, and Grapefruit. Go with…
  • Do what works for you! If your feel good with no cravings or hunger and increased energy, then the protein shake works well for you. If you feel fine not eating, or like myself eating 700 calories for breakfast it doesn't matter. Do YOU!!
  • PlantFusion is another great protein that you may like!!
  • I drink about 3 cups of coffee a day but I drink it black. I used to use sugar and cream and slowly came down to just drinking it black. I'm only 4'11" :) You could try one of the zero calorie stevia liquids and buy your own soda water and make your own sodas til you can come off of them. I also drink a lot of the Yogi…
  • Plantfusion Vanilla. It's a pea based protein without any dairy at all. Also infused with BCAA's and L-Glutamine.
  • I think Cod, grouper, and flounder are pretty mild tasting choices. I also think it's important to get some of the fatty fishes in your diet like salmon and sardines. These fish contain several vital nutrients that others do not. If you season them well, and add some other things like lemon and a side dish, you'll be…
  • I also used to have some issues with sugar. Some of my favorite snacks that help me are basic fruits. Apples w/ peanut butter. Watermelon, having a banana after a workout. The only bars I think are ok are Think Thin, since they use sugar alcohol instead of straight sugar. At night is when most people have problems with the…
  • You're likely not losing any weight because of Metabolic Damage, similar to what everyone is talking about. Lowering calories too much and doing excessive exercise absolutely hurts and slows the metabolism. Heres a great video on what is going on. http://youtu.be/QHHzie6XRGk
  • This nutritionist clearly does not understand the complexity of the human metabolism. This seems like it would set you up for metabolic damage and more weight gain in the future. Watch this video for more information!! :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHHzie6XRGk
  • Yes, I take a week off every couple of months of straight training. I train usually 5 to 6 days per week so the week off really helps me clear my head and just live life. I still manage my meals and everything the same. After about 5 days I'm really ready to kill the weights again for another month or so. Plus I feel I…
  • Simple carbs are great post-workout!
  • I think L-Cartinine is a great supplement however it is only a supplement. It will work great given the right conditions such as you're eating a well balanced diet, drinking plenty of water, sleeping, exercising etc.. I don't think it will work well if the person is not going to change their lifestyle and continue to drink…
  • This is a complicated question because everyone is so different but I will give my best advice. First, don't be afraid to experiment a little. Second, losing fat and gaining muscle simultaneously is tough but it can be done. I absolutely think post workout is the most crucial time to get in everything. If you're goal is…
  • I would not recommend using Canola oil or any refined seed oils like vegetable, Soybean, Safflower Rapeseed etc... Olive oil is o.k. to used from time to time but if you are cooking a lot especially at higher temps, I would go with coconut oil. It is all I use. Trader Joes has a great one and it's only about 6 bucks. :)
  • My girlfriend and I eat over two Tbs a day. We cook everything in it. Trader Joes as a great coconut oil and its very cheap .
  • Berries (blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries), apples, pears, and grapefruit because they contain a huge amount of water and fiber relative to sugar like a banana or pineapple does. Save the sweeter fruits for post workout in my opinion.
  • In my opinion, yes it is too much. Plus, you don't even seem like you are enjoying it. Also if you are doing that much exercise and nothing is happening with your body, then it must be telling you something. You could get way more accomplished if you trained shorter but more intensely. Instead of going out and jogging for…
  • Sprinting
  • In my opinion, the most natural one containing Stevia would be J Robb Natural Whey Protein. He also makes an Egg Protein as well. Hope that helps
