My usual breakfast is 1/2 cup steel cut oats. Once cooked, I put it in a bowl and add 1/2 cup frozen blueberries and mix with my spoon. It is absolutely delicious. I sometimes use my homemade almond butter or homemade peanut butter too. One tablespoon is plenty.

I lost 180 pounds, and the number one shocker was my shoe size went from a 12 to a 9.5!
-
Considering I lost 180 pounds in a year, I'd say 50 is doable... :)

I have tons of loose skin in my stomach area after losing 180 pounds. It is slowly shrinking, but it's gross and nasty. But it sure as all heck beats having 180 pounds of excess fat on my body.

I go on a 45 minute walk each night. That's really all I do other than my normal desk job. I do biking maybe once or twice a month for a few hours.

Hard work and dedication! It's not easy, but with enough will power, anything...and I mean anything can be done!

I challenge everyone who is starting off and already on the journey to take beginning and progress pictures! I was so overjoyed when I actually found the beginning pictures because I took them and deleted them...but I was able to recover them in my Gmail account. Even though the before pictures were humiliating and…

Thanks. Yea, I have upped the protein significantly over the last 2 weeks. I was barely hitting like 80 or 90 grams a day, now I am around 150 a day. Now I just need to start hitting the weights... That's the hard part, starting off with weight lifting.
-
I went from 350 to 175

To be honest, I don't do much strenuous exercise. I have not yet started lifting weights, but I do have a FitBit, and make an effort to get 10,000 steps per day...which usually requires a 45 minute morning or evening walk.

Oh, and I went from barely squeezing into 50" waist jeans to now fitting into 32" waist jeans (the jeans in the last picture are size 32"), so I lost an astounding 18" in my waistline. Another weird fact is my shoe size went from a 11.5 down to a 9. My ring size also went from an 11.5 down to a 9 too. I still have, what I…

Myfitnesspal certainly helped in that it made it easy to track my calories. Basically, for the first 6 months, I tried to stay around 1200 calories, then I upped to 1500 calories, now I'm at around 2,000 calories. The hardest part was having the motivation to know that I had the power to make the changes I needed to make…

Steel cut oats taste chewier and are also lower on the glycemic index so your blood sugar doesn't spike as much. And Costco has Bob’s Red Mill Quick Cooking Organic Steel Cut Oats (the best!!) for $7.99 for a 112 ounce bag!

I'm not going to read any of that, but is it because of the yolks? I only eat hard boiled eggs, and I never eat the yolk. Am I still not "increasing ones lifespan" by eating hard boiled egg whites?

Eating healthy/low calorie/good nutrients is 95% of weight loss.

It disgusts me to think about...but I did a quick logging of an old day and it was easily over 6,000 calories per day...I would usually have Whataburger honey butter chicken biscuit, 2 taquitos, 4 piece hashbrowns, and an orange juice...That alone is 1,880 calories. Lunch was always fast food, my favorite of which being…

Suddenly my 162 pounds lost isn't as impressive!! Great work buddy, keep it up, and NEVER LET YOUR GUARD DOWN!!! This is my second time to lose weight, the first time I kept it off for 5 years then gained it back. It is very easy to gain it back, so this is something you will have to force yourself to maintain the rest of…

Congratulations!

Feel free to add me. I have lost 150+ pounds, and have an active streak of 306 days with no plans of stopping any time soon!
-
So true. You have to want it more than anything else in the world. More than the cravings you'll get, more than you want to just go pick something up quick and easy on the way home (faSt food). The hardest part is the first two weeks, once you get past that, just keep at it, because it will work, even if it takes longer…

Update: 29 years old (July 26 will be 30!!! / 6'0" / Starting Weight 350 lbs / Goal Weight 180 lbs / Current Weight 199.2 lbs / Weight Lost 150.8 lbs I am one day from my 30th birthday! Happy to report that this morning I weighed in at 199.2, which was my 30th birthday goal to be below 200! Pretty crazy since I started at…

It can and should be done without surgery!! You'll still have to change your eating habits significantly pre and post surgery, so why not just change your eating habits now, and watch the weight fall off without surgery. Best of luck to you though. It will be a tough road ahead of you.
-
I've lost another 10 pounds and currently at 208! Hoping to get to 199 by my 30th birthday on July 26! Probably will hit that goal a week late though, oh well!
-
Congratulations! I became overweight a couple weeks ago, and it was so exciting! Now I am only 29 pounds from the upper end of healthy!
-
Based on what evidence? I eat tons of fruit every day, and I have managed to lose 140 pounds in the last 10 months.
-
The tummy still has a huge gut! Still have a 30-40 pounds of fat to lose, plus build up muscle. I need to get a personal trainer to get started weight lifting. As far as the rate, I have been told by many doctors that losing 3 pounds a week is perfectly healthy, especially for someone who was starting out at 350 lbs.…

Found another before and after picture :) And one more...I have been taking progress pictures of me trying to fit back into this shirt. Before picture that was as close as it would get to fitting...now it fits just nicely :)

I would stop at Jack in the Box on my way home, and order 6 or 7 things off the dollar menu...Double cheeseburger, 4 tacos no lettuce, spicy chicken sandwich, curly fries, and soda. It disgusts me now even thinking about the stuff I fed my body.
-
I did that quite often too...Couldn't beat it for $5 pizza. Of course, I would never touch that with a 10 foot pole anymore.
