  • I found a $30 one at Marshalls. My 8yo son is happy with it and loves tracking his steps daily.
  • Just south of Boston, MA.
  • Love these recipe ideas. Thanks for sharing!
  • Welcome Michele! I take the Scivation Xtend pre- and intra-workout. It seems to help with my energy levels. Post workout I add gelatin, D-ribose and sometimes bee pollen to a protein shake for recovery. In addition I take a boatload of vitamins and supplements. Let us know what you end up taking and how you like them!
  • I have both a FitBit and a HRM, but they both serve different purposes. The FB is great at tracking steps taken throughout the day and TDEE. However since BB workouts are not walking workouts a HRM will tell how hard your heart is working during your workout, the FB is pretty useless at giving you any data for your lifting…
  • Good morning Beastettes!! I Chest/Tri tempo this morning. My arms are just beginning to settle down an hour after finishing! What a workout! Not sure how I'm going to feel tomorrow. I have to say I really do enjoy the tempo workouts, thanks for convincing me to get the DVDs! I love all the ab work Sagi incorporates. I'm so…
  • Hello ladies! Sorry I've been quiet. I was sick earlier this week and quite busy. I've just barely had enough time to comment on your inspiring posts! Melliechick - Another Melanie here! Congrats on signing up for the BB show! Please keep us posted with your plans and progress. And pics are a must! So we've got Jen, Jenn,…
  • Jenn - You are a rockstar doing two workouts in one day! Your commitment is admirable. I think you can absolutely do 21 days in 16. That only means 4 or 5 days of doubling up over 3 weeks, or doing doubles twice a week. You've already got one down this week, and are considering another today. Seems attainable if you've got…
  • Cristy - Let me know what you think of the negative pull ups. I've been doing them for a while and still have loads of improvement to make. Congrats on going up on the weights AND being able to complete all of the decline pushups on the ball. Impressive! Good for you in cleaning up your diet! I'm working on that too, I…
  • I found the answer to the length of the programs in case anyone else is looking for them: http://www.theworkouts.com/tag/body-beast-workout-time-lengths/ BUILD: CHEST/TRICEPS 49 minutes BUILD: SHOULDERS 38 minutes BUILD: LEGS 38 minutes BUILD: BACK/BICEPS 50 minutes (avg=44 mins) BULK: CHEST 30 minutes BULK: BACK 29…
  • Yay Jenn!! Great catch seeing that the program is 84 days and not 90! Have you looked into the eccentric or negative pull ups? (I gave you the wrong name of them before) I wish I could find the training program I used last year, but I can't. I recently read this in a thread which swayed me from getting an over the door…
  • Hi all! Thanks for all the info on pylo. Based on Deb's suggestion, I'm going to try to watch the video this week to decide if I want to swap it for cardio the next time that comes up in the cycle. I had cardio yesterday and while it was tough I'm happy to report that my knee does not hurt today! The tempo DVD should…
  • Cristy - Thanks for yet another confirmation of getting Tempo. The order has been placed! Are the burn intervals you're referring to the ones on the Cardio DVD? Or something else? Congrats on the compliments from your friend! What a great feeling! Do any of you do the plyo on one of the DVDs? If so on what day do you do…
  • Jen - Congrats on seeing a drop after switching your pill! That's encouraging. Deb - What a great workout!! I did not do the tempo workout yesterday as planned; I realized I didn't have it in my package. I ordered the Base package and it doesn't come with it. It's $30 to order separately. I was beginning to wonder if it is…
  • I did build shoulders this morning. One more day and my first week is in the books! It's funny how a good workout made me forget about the still lingering DOMS in my bis/forearms! But alas, the pain is back but getting better! I loved (and hated) the Sagi 6-way during shoulders! I should have iced by left shoulder when I…
  • Kelly - I'm totally with you on DOMS being worse 2 days later! Congrats on getting ready to wrap up bulk! That should make you happy as you leave for vaca! Cristy - I take D-Ribose as it's supposed to help with muscle retention while losing fat. I also add Bee Pollen and gelatin to my PWO shake to aid with recovery.…
  • This is so much fun to have an active group of Beastie Girls! Cristy -- TDEE = Total Daily Energy Expenditure is the amount calories your body burns in a 24 hour period, sleeping, working, exercising, playing and digesting food. It's your total burn. This is a great explanation:…
  • Thanks for all the info about tempo ladies! I appreciate it. I'll try it out on Thursday's workout. I had to make the tough decision to switch tomorrow's rest day for today. My bis and forearms are still on fire from two days ago. So I'll do shoulders tomorrow. Cristy - I have a FitBit Flex and a Polar FT4. I wear the…
  • Deb - Nine pounds in 21 days?! Terrific! And impressive!! Cardio was quite the challenge yesterday. It's no HIIT elliptical! I had to ice my knee last night (I've got two small tears in the meniscus). I like how this program is pushing me in all sorts of new directions. It hurts so good. My bis are so sore this morning.…
  • Jen - Thanks for the insight into build vs. tempo. Good luck getting your pill switched today!
  • Hi Deb and ladies! My name is Melanie, or Mel. Thanks for the welcome. Boy am I feeling the good pain from build-legs yesterday. Ouchie! Jen - I wear Polar FT4 HRM when I work out. When I was doing Stronglifts the weightlifting portion burns would be anywhere from 150-300 depending on the day. I typically did 20 minute…
  • I just started BB Lean yesterday after completing several rounds of Stronglifts 5x5. My WOE is low carb/keto. I plan to continue with that as I work my way through BB. Friend me up! :)
  • Hi all! I just started BB yesterday. I've done quite a few rounds of Stronglifts 5x5 and was looking to mix things up. My tris and chest aren't as sore as I thought they would be. Today I'll do the dreaded Build-Legs that I've heard is really tough. I'm looking forward to seeing what Sagi has in store (but a little scurred…
  • I've been doing Keto for 16 months today. I love it. In addition to all of the great suggestions above, on how to keep your fat macros up, I highly recommend downloading the Fat Fast Cookbook by Dana Carpender on Amazon. It's loaded with great yummy high-fat recipes. Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake? Um, yeah!!
  • I've been lifting heavy off & on for over 15 years. I swear by 5x5 Stonglifts (Madcow version). It's all compound lifts (you work more than one muscle group at a time) and quick. I can get one intense session done in about 25 minutes, and it's only 3x per week. I have some progress pics in my profile. I do 20-30 min of…
  • Add me if you like; I've been keto for almost 15 months.
  • I've been keto for almost 15 months, feel free to add me if you like.
  • I do 5x5 Stronglifts too (Madcow version). I love the simplicity of it, the impact and that it's all compound lifts, so I can get through it quickly, yet effectively. You can see one of my progress photos, after just 9 weeks in my profile pics.
  • These are 2 articles from the author of the Fat Fast Cookbook. She includes a couple of recipes. http://www.carbsmart.com/fatfast.html http://www.carbsmart.com/fat-fasting-really-is-as-awesome-as-i-thought.html
