  • I always suggest the Arc Trainer to people whom have not yet tried it, and they always love it. You can set it to do intervals. I program it to get a higher incline, higher resistance, over the course of the hour I am on it. It is also set to do intervals the entire time as well. I get a way better burn on the Arc vs…

  • These are all great! I am glad there are so many people on many different levels. Makes for good motivation!
  • They are high numbers, but I do a lot. Cardio at the gym then at home Insanity AND RevAbs 6 days a week. Also various sports several times a week. At the gym i use the Arc trainer and burn way more calories vs the elliptical, treadmill, or bike. I would have set a little higher due to all the activity, BUT I am unsure when…
  • I think a group goal would be great! Lets do it.
  • Yes! Excited and ready to go. Already changed my training options on my HRM to start my week Wed.
  • What is it saying when you try?

  • Hey all! My name is Tess. 33 female who currently resides in FL. I started back with school for Sports Health and Wellness AND Alternative Medicine/Holistic Living. On a mission to get things done! I do some (very little) free lance work fro home until I go back to my position I do work OTR and there have been some hiccups…
  • I am in! I also use a Polar HRM. I do not track anything that is an everyday chore. I track gym time, sports, Insanity, and RevAbs. Playing with the kids, cleaning, walking, are all basic things that were done previous to weight gain so why would they be considered exercise?? That is my thought on it anyway. 16,000 sounds…
  • I agree with the New Rules and the training session. Almost all gyms offer that first one free. Just inquire at the desk. Let them know you are a beginner and need to know how to use the machines and which are for you. Gyms do not want members hurt or machines broken so they are happy to show you. Some have classes built…
  • The great thing about Insanity is that you go at your own pace. Shaun T and his crew all go at different paces. It is not like some sort of aerobics or dance class where you are all doing the same move on an 8 count. Some moves you will do faster then someone else. That is the way it is supposed to be. Every couple of…
  • I LOVE the Arc trainer. They have several in the Cardio Theater at my gym.Normally I do 60 minutes at a time, but some days I will get on it and do an entire movie. If there is a ballgame I am into I will use one in the regular gym and go for as long as the game holds my interest. I used to be a huge elliptical fan, until…

  • Mine were doing this as well. Trainer suggested a few things...None worked. This may sound completely crazy but a girl in the locker room told me to put the tiniest bit of Vaseline (just do not go crazy bc will soak through)under a band aid in the spots where it was hurting to prevent callouses. She said after she started…
  • Day 1 - Complete late night, but still completed.
  • Look just a smidge to the left. Yes! That photo right there.....Red
  • Ha! I thought by "your mug" you meant the other "mug" as in your face....I was going to say that explains the adventure I had this AM! Only an Iced Coffee drinker, not a hot coffee drinker so I do not even own a mug. :noway:
  • Fruit, and lots of fruit. Why not try meal prep? Make all your meals in advance. Store them in single serve containers. Can get a large bag of chicken breast a Walmart cheap. Bake it. Then can do many things with it throughout the week. Chicken has a lot of options. Fresh veg would be great with it, but if on tight budget…
  • Its really just trial and error. You can find recipes as a starting point. Then go with what you like. Change as you wish. I had some work done in the past and was only allowed to consume food through a straw. This gave me plenty of time to try everything!! Forgot to add the boy would drink them as well. He loved them. He…
  • A HRM is for activity only. Working out etc. It will not be accurate if worn all day. Just not the way they are designed. If you want to know your burn for the entire day, I would recommend the fitbit. That will keep track of your calories from your entire day, even sleeping. Fitbit also keeps info such as steps taken,…

  • Thanks! Plan is as before...Bust *ss until I go back. This minor (actually major but trying to remain positive about entire situation) hiccup will be easy. I MAY even get a quick 3 week leg into work before I have to go back. I am ATTEMPTING to plan it that way. If I do, the crew I will be out will is majorly into working…
  • Here are two shakes I had today. At the moment I can only eat through a straw so impatiently waiting on more responses and meal ideas!! 1 Small Zucchini cubed 1 cup Orange Juice 1 Scoop Protein powder 1 tablespoon Raw Sugar 1 Cup Coconut Milk 1/2 cup Low fat Frozen Yogurt (Can be Vanilla or Coconut. I like coconut when it…
  • I still own and play the NES. Anything Marvel Comic related I am all over it!! Ohh...I may or may not have recently purchased some storm trooper "bedroom clothes"
  • Insanity is not for everybody, BUT A great thing about the workout, as with and DVD is that you go at your own pace. You are not required or expected to go at the same pace as they are on the vids or even the people next to you. Any movement is good movement.

  • Bueller? Bueller?
  • I do intervals on the Arc trainer and/or Elliptical. Also I do Insanity piggybacked by RevAbs. I have a lot of time on my hands at the moment so I work out like its my job. You've got to look at the length of a workout as well. Also ppl use the MFP calc/database which can over estimate. I go by my HRM.
  • Anyone? Anyone know of anyone whom may know?
  • 3-1-13 - 172.8 2.2 loss 3-9-13 - 169.4 3.4 loss 3-15-13 167.1 2.3 loss 3-22-13 165.7 1.4 loss 3-29-13 Next 2 weeks are going to be SUPER hard. Have this challenge at the gym. I do not know how to lose well. I've got some catching up to do. Very close! Way to be consistent though and meeting this 2+ a week goal! You can do…
  • I use Yoplait Light and Yoplait Greek as well. Also Stonyfield Vanilla No Fat. All have sugar, BUT are lower than some of the other brands I have looked at Chobani seems to be a favorite with people. I checked it out. Massive amount of sugar.

  • Did you check battery? I know, stupid question but had to ask. I personally have a Polar ft7 and LOOOOOVVEEE it! This is my second one. My first one took a walk somewhere, some how so i replaced it. Besides that hiccup I've never had a problem with it. From what I read here I see most ppl say polar or Timex
