arc trainer

I just started using the arc trainer at my gym and was curious who else uses it and how long they go for. I'm 5'6" and currently 207 pounds. I normally warm up for 10-15 minutes on the treadmill then alternate upper and lower body weight training followed by 25-35 minutes of cardio.

I love the arc trainer, especially because I have bad knees. When I go on it, I usually use the "weight loss" plan. It is an interval type of training. Choose a level that fits you best
I go for 30 min and then I use another machine. I have tried it for longer before but I find that for any time longer than 30 min, my knees feel really weird after getting off the machine.

30 minutes is the longest I've done it for. I like it a lot more than the elliptical and the treadmill. It feels like I am getting a better workout .0

I might have to give it another chance. I hated the arc trainer more than anything else. I wasn't working out then either. The trainer kept saying I was going backwards so now i can't remember which way is "forward". I sure didn't know it was backward. I think I did 10 min then.0

I have a bad knee with a severely limited Range-of-Motion, so the Arc Trainer is really the only cardio option for me at the gym. But all that aside I absolutely love it! I use it for 5-10 mins for warm ups before strength training, when I'm done I do 20-30 minutes on it again. Or if I'm just doing cardio that day I'll try to aim for 45 minutes and 750 calories(although I usually come in around 700 calories for 45 minutes, haven't quite met my goal yet except for once on a brilliant day)
I can't say anything bad about it.0 -

I LOVE the Arc trainer. They have several in the Cardio Theater at my gym.Normally I do 60 minutes at a time, but some days I will get on it and do an entire movie. If there is a ballgame I am into I will use one in the regular gym and go for as long as the game holds my interest. I used to be a huge elliptical fan, until I found this machine.Elliptical would not hurt my knees like most say, it was my hips. No issues on the Arc. I use the programs as well. Depends on the day which I use.
I also find it to be accurate with the calorie burn. It always comes out to be very close to my HRM unlike the elliptical or treadmill. The elliptical I would see be more than 100 calories difference. Sometimes even more. I do not think there has been one time that the HRM and Arc have been more then 20 calories difference.
LOVE this machine! I tell everyone to try it.0 -
60 minutes? that seems like a very, very lot to me haha0
