• Such inspiration! I really needed this today. I've been walking every day (trying to get 4-5 miles a day). But today I was just tired and only did two. This photo inspires me to try again tomorrow and see how I can make a 6-month success story too! Thanks for posting!
• I am not someone who can do clean eating...at least not now. But I think you are dead on accurate when you write about a former addict...drugs/alcohol/etc. I have often wondered about the whole 'moderation' theory. There are certain foods that I can't ever go back to. They just make me want more. Not even just more of that…
• YES!! Thank you! B)
• BEST explanation! Thank you, it was not sinking in with me. I really appreciate this! o:)
• This is a page I check every morning. I tend to drag myself out of bed ready to crawl back in. But after this thread check, I get up ready to face the day, do my bodylastics bands, and get all my steps in. Thanks again and again and again for all your posts. Motivation is power!
• Amen! I do the same thing!
• I'm trying to get 10,000 steps done daily!
• The "only ten pounds" is incredibly encouraging! It shows what a difference can happen in just a month or two! The ones with 50/100+ are great too but the ten shows that beginning steps are still steps. Those steps really add up! Thanks for posting! I'm encouraged!
• Re: The ones conveniently leaving out the fact that it's not school policy to send a letter home just help to further the victim mentality of the mother. If the mother really wanted the best chance for her kid, she would teach her daughter that sometimes it sucks that we can't do whatever we want because we have to follow…
• Nope. It makes you a great mom who wanted to give her child a treat. I like that. It's funny though a mom can give her child money for ice cream that the school sells and the school has a right to tell a mom she can't give her child cookies in her lunch from home. Irony. (I forgot that schools sell snacks and ice creams)
• Exactly. Except life is not always fair. Why do kids have to have the same? Tastes are different. Home life is different. You can't make things 'fair' in everything. Some kids get cell phones some don't. Some have elaborate birthday parties; others not so much. In P.E. class some kids run around with Nikes other kids wear…
• That's the problem! Why is the government making these guidelines? Where do they get the right? They are not the parents. People will gripe for the government to stay out of their beds, off their bodies, on and on. But it is perfectly okay to dictate what a parent can give his/her own children for school lunch? No,…
• Yeah and they are not all that nutritional, I looked up the nutritional value of my daughters lunch was one day and the sodium alone was about 4500mg!
Holy cow! And this from the department of 'we know what is best for your kids'!! Genius. Yeah, those cookies are so much worse than that tray of government…
• Schools are there to teach not play amateur nutritionist. So no, not when it comes to a packed lunch from home. I understand peanuts. But no, not you can have a sandwich with white bread but you can't have a cookie. White bread is highly processed. Some kids don't like bread at all while grain or otherwise. Some suggest…
• Yeah, I thought that was how it worked. I think schools (government, whatever) are just going way overboard. Besides 1/2 the so-called nutritional school lunches are trashed.
• I think the very basic issue is why are the schools dictating what a child can and can not bring for lunch? These kids are not government property. I'm not a fan of dispensing birth control to a 15 year old girl but I am not going to tell another mother she can't no matter what I approve or disapprove of. It drives me…
• Thank you!!! I was beginning to wonder if I should just pack a trunk and let the schools raise my children too! I can't speak for any other parent. That's okay. It's not my job. My job to to do the best for my own family. That includes their nutritional needs including school lunches. Two Oreo cookies in the box that…
•
A jump rope goal I have also is to be able to jump rope so fast that you cannot see the rope your naked eye in videos without slowly the video down.
Judging by your video I can see you are well on your way to accomplishing that goal! My rope arrived! I got a cable style one (fitskuad brand). I have a…
• You look great, congratulations! Please update as you progress. It is a fantastic motivator...and I can use all the motivation I can get! :)
• A-FREAKIN'-MAZING!!!!!!! Congratulations! You really worked hard and it shows! :)
• Darn those genes!!! :s You are right on that one! I know I'm reaching here. But, hey, it's getting me off the couch at least. So there is another reason to buy less expensive exercise help. I gotta save for that excess skin removal! ;) I'm kidding.
• What are your goals with jump roping?
@yopeeps025 ... My goal is to find a do a good exercise. I fear the 'excess skin' that comes with weight loss. So finding something to keep at is very important to me. The bands help and are fun and they are now a daily habit. But they are not enough. I need to add to my daily…
• Currently I'm only doing exercise bands and working on getting my steps in for the day. After today, my goal is to keep up with the jump rope. I feel like I'm on a good track. I am feeling more awake and energized. All of these posts are inspiring and a great help!
• You are doing a pretty good job there! I'm pretty sure when I jump rope the Looney Tunes music will be cranking!
• @yopeeps025 Do you jump rope daily? Regardless of intensity you are doing something right. You worked really hard for that 30lb loss!
• Oh my goodness!!! Yes, yes, I saw that video. You are incredible! I only wish I could get to jumping like that! You are an inspiration. Thanks for posting that. As I said, my rope should arrive today and I'll get started. I'll be slow as herd of galapogas turtles running through peanut butter. ;) Oh well. I managed to get…
• Hire long have you been doing this? I'm not sure I could get through 5 minutes nevermind 10. I think right now my goal is coordination so I'll want to build that stamina!
• Oh! I forgot to mention this: there is a cool video on youtube that is a great help for beginner jumpers. Look for the one by: Tim Haft. The video is called: 'Rope Jumping for Fitness: How to correct 5 common mistakes'. Give that a view. I think it prevented some things I just know I would be doing! Best wishes. :)
• I just bought one from amazon. It should arrive today. I've been doing bodylastics band exercises as an intro to, hmmmm, moving. So far, so good. I don't see results but I am feeling them. With the jump rope, I read that it is great exercise and works the whole body. This should be interesting. I'm a total klutz. Oh well,…
• To make it worse they are making a freaking Broadway play from this ×#$% movie! Plus, Frozen II is in the works. I HATE this movie. And, no, I can't "let it go". :p
