Pace is important for people who run races. If you don't anticipate running races, you don't need to really worry. With running, it's best to start out slowly, and then develop a pace (if you choose) after you've worked up to several miles. Good luck! Running -- any speed, any distance -- is an accomplishment!

I'm not gonna lie. I already have tickets for their concert when they tour in the fall. I'm as excited as I was when I say them last time when I was 13!!!

Weekends! Ah, the kill me. The beer at the baseball games, the cook outs... Sigh. But congrats!! It's always nice to hear about other people's progress!
-
Of course! I just did my second half-marathon a month ago. I suggest visiting runnersworld.com or any running website to get information on how to train properly. Essentially, you will need to run a few miles every day/every other day and run one long run during the week which you build upon week by week. For example, and…

I'm so sorry! Success is the best revenge. You'll look better than ever and it will be too late. :)

I have a tuna fish recipe too! I just made it up the other night. I can of tuna, 2 tbsp hummus, a handful of chopped kalamata olives and 2 tbsp shredded parmesan cheese. Soooo good and so many good for you things in there!

Or a few weeks ago I went to the doctor and weighed more on her scale. No fair!

Amazing! Impressive!! Way to go!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. As usual, MFP members seem to come through with just the right thing at just the right time! I gained this week, BUT I was also consuming more calories towards the end of the week in preparation for the half-marathon I ran on Saturday. Instead of congratulating myself for my accomplishment…

You are amazing! I was having such a bad day, after over-indulging last night, and your photos totally inspired me. Congrats! And thanks for sharing!

Yeah, I've been overweight since I was 15. I lost a bunch of weight during grad school (I'll never know how much I weighed because I was too poor to buy a scale!) and I have a pair of pants left over from then. They still don't fit. But even then, I wasn't skinny, just lighter for me. Based on where I am now, I probably…

I hate it when people say (and they are almost always skinny) "you don't need to lose weight!" What? Are you blind? I always say, "well the BMI calculator says I do!" I never know how to respond to that.
-
Great news!! You must feel so good! Congrats!

1 can Campbell's Select Healthy Request Chicken w/ Egg Noodles I love how filling soup is! Ice Water 1 Thin Mint GS Cookie -- nibbled very very very slowly

Thanks. I needed this today. I ate anything that stood still last night, for what? Oh, just that all or nothing crap I'm plagued with from time to time. It's not the end of the world, I have to remind myself! And I've resolved to sneak in an extra workout today just to appease my guilty conscience!

Rye Toast with 1 Tbsp Peanut Butter Handful of grapes

Do they provide any sustenance along the way (e.g those jelly beans or gel stuff that provide quick energy)? I'm running a half-marathon on Saturday and I know they will have packets of those at various places. Before races I tend to eat a spoonful of peanut butter and a banana--anything more upsets my tummy along the way.…

Ha ha! I love that. Yeah, I only count my actual exercise. It gives me comfort that if I go over in calories from time to time that maybe the walk to/from the subway or up to get groceries will sustain me.

2/3 cup muesli 1 cup grapes 1 coffee with 2% milk All consumed while careening in rush hour traffic and running late to work :) Typical Monday.

I was on the treadmill at the gym the other day, and when I looked in the mirror I saw definition in my arms. Muscle! There are muscles in my arms, not just fat!

I'm in! I need this goal! Starting weight: 160 Goal weight: 135 Current weight: 151 Mini goal: To be in 140's by end of March. It's always nice to be in the next "bracket" right?

I just had this dillemma. Of course, if you can bring a small cooler and pack your snacks that way, that's best. I don't have one, so I opted for Wendy's Ultimate Chicken Grill (without top bun) and a side salad with Fat Free Honey Mustard dressing. Very filling! On the way back I must admit the craving for Taco Bell was…

You mean I can eat pasta and not feel guilty?? Thank you!!

I consider Girl Scout cookie season and Easter to be a one-two punch.

Thanks so much! I hate when I get this "all or nothing" attitude. Life just isn't black and white, I know, but I get discouraged when I think I've failed somehow.
-
Hey guys, I went to my dad's house in NC this weekend and ate everything that stood still. Help me not feel devastated today as I try to get back on track! I hate that I'm feeling guilty days later about eating fried okra! Ahhhh!

I just tried the Kashi granola bars for the first time. They are so good and the ONLY ones that actually curb my hunger until dinner! Yum!
-
Good for you!! That's great!

Congratulations!! It's stories like these that keep me motivated! I fell a little behind on my vacation, but I guess I just have to pick myself up and start again!
