  • I had it for almost 7 months, and bleeding kept getting worse and worse. Since I'm a heavy bleeder, I'm gonna have Mirena inserted today. If I see that both IUDs are causing me issues, I will take Mirena off and look into the tubal ligation option.
  • Cheese. The amount of fat and calories in products that contain cheese kept me from losing. And chocolate, not because of weight gain, but because of depression it was giving me.
  • How is the tubal ligation like? Any side effects from that?
  • For me, everything is delicious, and I found healthy food to be more delicious than all the junk I used to eat. - Fresh fruits - delicious by themselves. - Vegetables - Cook them properly, add some spices... Yummy! - Legumes - Same as vegetables. Spice it up! Now I eat a lot of healthy foods that I never touched before in…
  • I take B-complex vitamins as I am B12 deficient, and although it does help me get through the day better, I don't expect it to do miracles on metabolism. What helps me is a big breakfast that includes protein and fiber (such as tuna sandwich with lots of fresh fruits). One thing that boosts my performance in my workouts is…
  • For me it's a routine now. For exercise, I wake up an hour earlier in the morning, so it doesn't interfere with the rest of my day or family time. For logging the food I eat, I log it same time as I eat it, takes nearly 2 seconds, especially if it's a frequent meal such as breakfast. Multitasking! In beginning it…
  • I have checked your diary. - First of all, you should log every single day. - Second, you must be overestimating your calories burned from what I can see. And don't log every single step you take. Only the real hard burning workout. I kill myself in house cleaning daily but I never log it. - Third and extremely important:…
  • What I do is I eat a huge breakfast, a good lunch, some healthy (and sometimes unhealthy lol) snacks in between, and then nothing until the next morning. I hate eating at night, my stomach hurts, I get nightmares and all sorts of things when I eat so late. You could try that, it's just skipping dinner, nothing more.
  • I used this one when I was starting: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Yoga-Essential-Healthy-Living-Series/dp/B0001EYSE4 You can find parts of it on YouTube also. It has everything, yoga for beginners, meditation, hatha yoga, power yoga, relaxation techniques, dance yoga, dawn breathing, sun salutations, and advanced yoga. I still…
  • Hi, I'm a mom of a 2 year old and a 3 year old. I was slightly overweight before I became a mom, but my 2nd pregnancy gained me a whopping 25 kg extra. It took me around 2 years to lose the pregnancy weight, (and the extra kgs that were above my recommended BMI), and a lot of bad experimenting. What has really worked for…
  • That would be weird, only I'm still 28 years old, not 35. Actually, it depends on the type of yoga, whether you do Iron Yoga (which includes doing dumbbell / weight lifting exercices while holding yoga poses), or how much time you are holding the poses and if you are making the advanced level of the pose . I try to include…
  • Yup. I'm also same as her. Yoga and cycling are my workouts, and I can eat anything I want (within my calorie goal or mainentance). Hell if I wish to eat 5 slices of pizza, I shall have them. Chocolate cake, bring it in lol! Still losing and I'm almost near to my goal. But in all honesty, bad eating is not a daily thing…
  • Quite honestly, I prefer to eat anything I want (within caloric reason) without worrying too much, and make sure I get all my fuel and nutritional needs for the day, and just burn the fat off with exercise, instead of sitting all day and starving myself. And I have tried both ways, with exercise I stick more to the plan…
  • I'm a mother of super-active 2 year old and 3 year old, so I get up around 4:00 am for 1 hour exercise, lovely shower, house cleaning and breakfast, all before they wake up and unleashed into the wild lol. Waking up early has made me super productive, and reduced my depression as most of the time everything goes according…
  • For controlling/fixing irregular periods, check my reply to this post: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1320298-pcos-thyroid-issues-hard-time-losing-weight EDIT: To answer your last question: Yes, I have tried ParaGard. Without it I'm already heavy and goes on for 8 days. With the ParaGard it goes for minimum 2…
  • A lot of birth control pills / shots can cause weight gain, caused from their side-effects such as excess hunger / overeating, water retention and stopping the menstruation. If doctors tell you these stuff don't have side-effects, they're lying. If this doctor is not willing to change your prescription, you need to find…
  • For me, only the pregnancy prevention was the benefit, and even then, I was single at the time and from so many delayed menses, doctors told me I couldn't have babies (another lie right there, I am a mother of 2 kids now).
  • Every person has a different reaction to the pill, and when it comes to negative side-effects (which are already written in leaflet), it's better to warn the OP who asked about it due to the side-effects she's having herself. Every pill has its' side-effects, whether it's hormonal/contraceptive or not. People just tend to…
  • For me, the Pill (all brands) cost my health BIG time! I had to take them because that's the only thing doctors prescribe here for hormonal imbalance and absence of menses, but not only they didn't work, these pills almost killed me. I'm talking weight gain, migraines, vomiting (sometimes blood too), severe depression and…
  • Thank you. Absolutely! We may have our different ways, but we have the same goals: To live this short life the best way we can! Love you all!
  • Thanks to both of you. :) I just love the MyFitnessPal community. I think it's one of the best on whole Internet. You guys are great! ;)
