  • Hi everyone, I've had my FitBit Blaze for a couple of months now and I love it! I'm looking for more friends to join in the challenges. The data & the challenges have been helpful in keeping me going! https://www.fitbit.com/user/4QQM6R
  • Yup. Also, take a look a this link: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1161603/so-you-want-a-nice-stomach/p1
  • Your body weight will naturally fluctuate each day, so don't let that part get to you! As far as the body fat, are you doing a strength program? I'm going to post some links that might be helpful in getting you to where you want to be. The last one is the link to the women's Stronglifts group. It's a pretty good program if…
  • I love the workouts. I've completed Insanity, Les Mills Combat, and Chalean Extreme. I've also done a little bit of Les Mills Pump and Turbo Fire. I love them all but Combat is one of my favorites for the fun & stress relief and Chalean Extreme is my other favorite because of the strength program.
  • Wow, nice job! This is exactly the kind of thing I'm trying to keep in mind when the scale is disappointing, so thank you for sharing. You look great!
  • Meal timing is irrelevant (aside from any medical issues that may require it). If you're not a breakfast eater, you don't have to eat it. As long as you're meeting your calorie goals, you're okay. Personally, I have to eat a little something with some protein in the morning. If I don't, I find myself snacking or wanting to…
  • I set aside some calories for whatever I'm into at the time and eat it before I go to bed. Lately it's Dove dark chocolate. If it's something bigger that I'm craving, I'll wait and see if I'm still craving it after a 3 days or so. If I am, I'll just make it fit and have a serving. Other than that, I just plan and make…
  • Current Weight: 168 Overall Goal: 150 August Goal: 163 Additional goals: Stick to my meal plans, drink 80 oz of water each day, and finish Chalean Extreme
  • What kind of program are you looking for? Have you looked into New Rules of Lifting for Women or Stronglifts 5x5?
  • Hi everyone! I'm Jamie from Washington state. Last summer, I was close to my goal and then some stuff happened and now I'm in the upper 160s. My original goal was 145, but now I'm thinking that I might just go until I fit into the clothes I bought last summer. I need to tighten up my logging and stop with all of the extra…
  • So many great songs mentioned! My favorite song is God of Wine by Third Eye Blind
  • I read that gaining some weight back when you hit maintenance is pretty common. I'm not sure how much of a gain. Also, are you weighing and measuring everything? I started eyeballing portions for a while when my scale went kaput, and my estimates ended up being way off after a while.
  • Sounds fun! I've been looking for an active group, and this sounds great!
  • No workout today :( I really wanted to; I was dressed and everything. My back hurt when I was putting my shoes on. "I'll push through," I thought. Then I sneezed. And swore. I knew then Week 4, workout 3 was not to be. So, here's my stuff for the Burn Phase. I'm starting Push (fewer reps & even heavier weights!) on Monday.…
  • That is an amazing run! Good for you. It sounds like you've got that 10k all under control!
  • Oh, I'm getting those highlights for sure! In the spring, I was just hoping I could sport them at the concert ;) I told my husband he didn't have to worry about any crash diets or excessive workouts so I could lose these 20 pounds in 19 days. I haven't seen that band in 6 years, and I'm going to enjoy myself dangit! Rest…
  • I agree with all of the above-- including the kudos regarding the username! If it works better for you to have breakfast, then do. If you're not hungry in the morning or find it's easier to stick to your goals if you eat later, then do that. Personally, I have breakfast after my workouts. Eating a good breakfast keeps me…
  • Definitely a difference. Good for you! Are you doing a strength program?
  • This is my last week of the Burn phase of Chalean Extreme. I reset my ticker thanks to a huge gain over the last couple of months, and am weighing each day & journaling. Hopefully that'll help. I'm not going to earn my new haircut and purple highlights by the date of the Third Eye Blind concert though :(
  • A lot of people on here recommend the free weights if you're able. The gal who wrote the thread I posted also wrote: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/971636/my-story-of-sweet-revenge-pics/p1 . She knows her stuff!
  • There's no need to eat breakfast, and it's pretty much a personal preference and what works best for you. If I eat breakfast, I'm pretty good for the day and don't stray much from my plan. If I skip breakfast, I'm in trouble and want to eat all day... if it's edible, it better hide! haha
  • Do you do any strength training? If not, Stronglifts 5x5 and New Rules of Lifting for Women are both good resources. I'm working on that for some "jiggly spots" and am seeing a difference since starting to lift heavier. This thread has some good information about getting that nice stomach :)…
  • My shoulders were screaming just trying to get out of bed this morning, so I had a feeling that hoisting weights about was not to be. *sigh* So now I'll just have to make that one up before Monday! What Firm workouts do you have? I have The Wave and Get Chisel'd. They're pretty fun, and I used them a lot before I…
  • Good for you! Here's hoping you return from your ride unmelted ;) Today was an off day for Chalean Extreme, so I put in my Combat 30 dvd for something different. So much fun, but my shoulders are on fire. Hopefully I'm not too sore to keep my date with my dumbbells tomorrow!
  • Are you looking to bulk up? Or just focus on body composition? I'm going to throw a bunch of links at you that are written by some super smart people on My Fitness Pal. If you're looking to put on some muscle or just increase strength, check out New Rules of Lifting for Women or Stronglifts 5x5. The NROLFW book has some…
  • Welcome to the group! Things I like to do: - Weigh & measure all of my food - Nothing is off limits as long as I have the calories for it - Exercise regularly, including some resistance training - Eat breakfast. You don't have to do this, it's just a personal thing for me, but if I eat breakfast my snacking and impulse…
  • Holly-- that sounds like a wonderful vacation! Great job on the loss! And don't let any pictures get you down; it's all part of your fitness story. You're doing terrific. Hoya-- that's great you and your horse had such a good day on Tuesday! When is your show? I'm sure you'll both be ready. I didn't get my workout in this…
  • Wow, I hope you have a speedy recovery. Take care!
