Coffee (I log the cream), diet pop, water, anything zero calorie, I eat a lot of salads but I don't log the iceberg lettuce. I DO log all the stuff in the salad (dressing, cheese, veggies, etc.)

People really need to lighten up... It was a simple story about work and some co-workers. Not a jab at pre/current/post bulimics. Cripes. Funny story and yes, puking at work in a public bathroom sucks. Like throwing up isn't bad enough, you have to go face first into a "foreign" commode.

I'm in Crest Hill, just north of Joliet... Chicagoland FTW! Challenge Fitness - Lockport Township Park District facility... and the asphalt in my neighborhood.

By "rest", do mean stop or just ease back to an easy pace?

Here she is. I was so jumpy to get out and ride, I didn't even take the reflectors off yet. :)

Going on a lunch ride today... Hope to get a few good shots in.

I'm pretty sure this was the original: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml Any program that gradually works you up to running a 5k is ok, though. I'd just pick one and... wait for it... run with it

Evernote. All my recipes, workout notes, restaurant nutrition sheets, EVERYTHING goes in there.

I was in the 320's when I started... Now down to 250 since January and can run 6+ miles without walking. Yes... you CAN do it. Just start slow. Even cut week one in half... 30 seconds running, 3 minutes walking. I had to repeat a couple weeks just because I wasn't ready to move on.

Not a whole DAY... Just a cheat meal or two spread out over the week. Keeps me sane.

Pure Protein bars... They're 180-200 cals, 20g of protein and only 3g of effective carbs. You can get them pretty much anywhere. I get the 18 pack from Sam's Club, but I think WalMart has them too.

Gave up caffeine a few years ago... MASSIVE headache the first night off the juice, but fine after that.

Bananas are fine... They might be on the higher end of the calorie spectrum for fruits, but they have a ton of potassium and are a great pre-workout food.

Start with the "Couch to 5k" plan. http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml I started in September and now I can run for 4 miles straight without walking. I was also 325lbs back then - now down to 287. If I can do it, ANYONE can. Doing my first 5k next month. :)

Cardio is great and will help you drop pounds, but weights will keep your body burning more calories longer after the workout. It's nice to see muscles form too. Personally, I do a little of each when I go to the gym... Lift a set or two - run a mile or two - lift another set. You feel great afterward.
