  • Sounds to me like you're sick and tired of being sick and tired. Pain is a great motivator sometimes. Use it, and be kind to yourself body, mind and spirit.
  • I make a big pot of veggie miso soup on a Sunday and eat it every day. Then I throw in some protein in the form of some kind of bean (rinsed of course) - kidney, black, chic, etc. etc. Automation works well for me.
  • You've come back, which means you haven't given up on yourself! Welcome back!
  • What a great life lesson you must have learned. Welcome back! I'll bet now you know what works and what doesn't. No mistakes - just lessons :)
  • Great ideas, thanks all!
  • Instead of tomatoes and/or tomato sauce - try pesto (basil, pine nuts, garlic & olive oil). Then top your pizza with good stuff like peppers, onions, spinach, mushrooms & cheese of course. Awesome!
  • I go over my sugar count every single day. I eat a banana in the morning and MFP says I've hit my max - I ignore it because all my sugar comes from fruit. I enjoy watermelon too much to keep my portion to a teeny weeny cup - give me wedges and lots of them! Watermelon is a great source of fibre, just as my colon! :)
  • It's a planning thing - forgot to take it out of the freezer. Thanks!
  • Just outside of Lucan!
  • At a family barbecue we were all eating fresh salad from my mom's garden and an earwig crawled out of my sister-in-law's salad. Obviously it survived the wash and spin.....weeeeeee!
  • FACT: you are maintaining a healthy lifestyle and weight. LIE: thoughts that say "see, you've blown it". Stick with the facts.
  • Is it possible that your body has become accustomed to your workouts and burning calories more efficiently? For me, if I don't throw in a little jog with my walking I get very comfortable in my exercise routine. Dunno, just a thought.
  • Sounds good. Whenever I do meat in a crockpot I always brown it to seal in the juices. I've been canning my own tomatoes for years, so I'll go that route.
  • Yes, you have a number, don't lose yourself in it. Move forward and aim to get healthy. The number on the scale can drive you crazy if you let it.
  • Homemade vegetable/miso soup, salad & leftover fish.
  • I wonder that myself. I think common sense rules and if you listen to your body (hungry vs not hungry), I don't think you'll go into starvation mode by falling short of your calories.

  • I'm here for you Hon! You're not alone.
  • Wow, just reading some posts, I sensed a lot of pain. People hating their bodies, how they look, how they feel. I don't think we were created to suffer as much as we do. Pain may be a motivation to make a change, but it doesn't sustain. You don't punish people into success, you build them up, and that's what we need to do…
  • Welcome newbie! Me too! I've been at it for a week and have found MFP a very useful and informative tool. Based on everyone's responses it's clear that everyone is different and coffee either works or doesn't work. In addition to my morning coffee I also drink a glass of milk, just to get a little something into my system…
  • I share your frustration. Menopause has been a bitter-sweet experience for me because I used to suffer terribly with menstrual cramps. Hot flashes are tolerable - not as severe as what other women go through, so I`m fortunate there. I`m apple-shaped and have what`s been called a `cookie sheet butt` and I swear that what…
