  • Amazing! Congrats! Enjoy your new life ahead!
  • Awesome, keep up the great work! Your life has already changed!
  • I did not read your previous post...perhaps you have the flu?!
  • Hi there...for years I have frequented a gym (mostly cardio) and avoided weights and strength training as like you...I had no strength in my core and a weak back and so favoured it. Then I figured enough was enough...I wanted to get rid of my aches and pains and signed up with a trainer. I then started counting calories on…
  • I am wondering the same :) Let's hope someone knows the answer!
  • I am in the same boat. I am 52...5'1"..and about 127 pounds. Still want to lose 5-10 lbs. I have been successful with trying to keep in and around 1200 calories but am astonished to learn that my maintenance calories (when I reach my goal) will only be 1400 calories! So this definitely is a long term commitment...as 200…
  • Everyone is different. But I am a woman and short like you..and MFP has calculated for me to eat 1200 calories. My trainer has also calculated what I should be eating and told me to eat 1200 calories. Like you...I have no problems staying satisfied within the 1200 calorie range. However, if I am hungry...I will not starve…
  • Me again...they actually refer to it as My Fitness Pal Ticker (not tickerbox)...LOL
  • Go to the Community Tab, then go to Settings. Once you hit that..it will ask you to a check a box to have your Tickerbox show up after your posts. Congrats on reaching your goal!
  • Everyone has their own motivators and reasons for their journey. For me, once I started exercising...I was motivated to eat healthier. Why would I binge or eat unhealthy food when I just worked my butt off for over an hour exercising? This is what keeps me going :) Like Ritchiebulk says...if you want to do it...you'll do…
  • I have been told by various sources that you should replace your shoes every one to two years as the arch support, etc. does break down over time. I had Nikes that were over two years old but I thought they were just fine. They still looked virtually new (I only wore inside at the gym)...but then my feet started to hurt as…
  • That must have been a wonderful feeling and such a sense of accomplishment! Cheers to you!
  • I was mortified when my trainer suggested that I should lose 30lbs! But after reality set in...I knew she was right and figured it was now or never! Even though I knew what I needed to do...30lbs seemed impossible...so I chose instead to focus on 5lbs at a time. Once my first 5lbs was gone...I focused on the next 5lb. I am…
  • Congratulations! What a milestone...keep up the hard work...towards a happier, healthier you!
  • Yes, I have found the same...if I don't eat processed food, I am always way under in my sodium count. The only time that I will get close is if I have processed food/restaurant food. FRESH is BEST!
  • Live and learn from it...and dont' worry about it...tomorrow's another day! We have all been there...I have learned to go online before I visit a restaurant so I am not ordering on the fly! For example, I went to Tony Roma's and ordered the pulled pork sandwich I wanted (no sides) for 570 calories. I would otherwise have…
  • Yes, don't be afraid to use more weight! I have been working out for about 8 weeks..started with 5kg, then 7.5kg and now I am using 10kg...you will be amazed how much stronger you feel.
  • Ditto what everyone else is saying...take measurements and take photos! While I hadn't lost much weight in my first 6 weeks(5lbs)...all my pants became way too big...so big I couldn't even wear them! Patience....that is the first thing my trainer told me when I first started...so I learned quickly not to live by the scale!…
  • Love your list! With special mention of #6 and #10...play nice :)
  • Your dress is lovely :) and your figure compliments the style. Simply steam the dress (have it done professionally (at the drycleaner, tailor or where you bought the dress, if you don't have a steamer yourself) to iron out the wrinkles and then hang it back up and save it for your special day! You won't be disappointed!
