This. I can't handle regular yogurt, but greek yogurt is fine. I like to say I'm "lactose sensitive."

I hate the "hungry" feeling too. However, are you REALLY hungry? I realized when I started that I wasn't necessarily hungry, I just wasn't stuffed. For me, I was so used to always feeling super full, that when I was satisfied, but not grumbly hungry, I equated that with being "hungry." Food for thought (haha puns). Some…

I so needed to see this today! I lost 70lbs a few years back with solely cardio, and it didn't stay off (why I'm back, lol). I am trying the strength training route this time and was starting to doubt if it was the right move. Seeing your before and afters has reconfirmed I'm on the right track! Great job!

Girl Scout Thin Mints. One sleeve is a serving, right?

I really dig cocoa roasted almonds. Also, frozen grapes. I try to stay away from diet food sweets like fiberone brownies...while it "kind of" tastes like a brownie..it isn't enough for my body to be like "yep, that was totally satisfying, I'm done craving brownies."

Mine is open and is usually around 1470 or so. Feel free to add me!

I don't know why, but I really dig lemon pepper seasoning on it. For sweet, I'll do strawberries or blueberries.

Kansas here, so central time! Feel free to add me. :)

I definitely agree with getting a food scale. I also love my Polar FT4 heart rate monitor..it gives me a good idea on calories burned during a workout and I LOVE seeing myself improve!!
-
I agree with this too. I pair protein with every single meal and snack. That and healthy fats keep me satisfied and not "hangry" through out the day.
-
I LOVE using my food scale. If I could marry peanut butter, I probably would..so it keeps me honest on serving size. :)
-
I never thought to do this, but it's a good idea! I don't see anything wrong with it. I will break off a smaller piece of ginger when I'm out shopping, and I think it's the same sort of idea. I also shamelessly try grapes before I buy a bunch. I'd rather not waste money on yucky grapes, so trying one doesn't…

27 here! Feel free to add me! :)

I totally understand where you're coming from! I have struggled with finding a good support system too. You CAN do it though! I lost about 70lbs two years ago learning to depend on myself, but stalled and put about half back on. I'm back looking to build a good support system here, which I think was the missing building…

Hi there! I'm 27, 5'9 and about 2 weeks in. It is all about the small steps and learning how to eat right and move! Feel free to add me..I keep an open diary if you're needing meal ideas, etc. :)

Look up a portion size guide. I believe 3oz of protein is roughly the size of a deck of cards. Eyeball it and load up on veggies. I was just there a few weeks back, I think they've put some lower calorie options (like broth) for sauces. Don't stress too much over it!

Congrats on making the decision to change! Slow and steady wins the race! I decided at 25 that things needed to change and at 27, I'm still working on it! Feel free to add me! :)

Bumpity bump bump! Any more Kansans?

Black with a touch of unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Now that it's warming up, I drink it over ice too. Gotta get that caffeine!
-
This sounds like my snack plan. :) I also dig those 80 calorie string cheeses and clementines. Pair up some hummus with sliced cucumbers too.
-
Awesome post! Though..I'd like to find out more about this twinkie and vodka diet you mention.

I am such a fan of craft beers! :) I'm in the Midwest..so Breckenridge and Free State are a few of my fave breweries. I've managed to work one or two into my week, and I have an open diary. Feel free to add me!

I use both. I have a Fitbit One that I wear all day, and I use the Polar FT4 when I work out. I like using both because Fitbit gives a good idea of my overall activity, and the HRM accurately tracks calorie burn when I work out.

I keep it simple most nights. I'll do a protein (like chicken breast, salmon, pork loin chop, shrimp, etc), season it however I want and cook a veggie to pair with it. Sometimes I'll pick up some turkey kielbasa and saute that up with a bag of pre-seasoned veggies (like from green giant).

I write for a living. This thread just made me twitch a little.

Subway can become Chubway really quickly. If I eat there, I stick to turkey breast with a ton of veggies on wheat.
-
This might sound a little weird, but I really dig "cauliflower rice." It doesn't taste exactly like rice, but it's really good! Just google cauliflower rice and a bunch of recipes will pop up.

I LOVE to cook! My diary is open, so when I do cook, you can see what I'm doing. Feel free to add me! :)
-
You can do it! I lost 70lbs 2 years ago..so I know it's possible! Take it 1lb at a time! Feel free to add me! :)

I second this! I DL a rockmyrun mix about once a month (it's free!)...they have some great mixes!
