No food is healthy or unhealthy on it's own. You have to look at how it fits into your overall diet.
Does it fit in your calories?
Does it fit in your macros?
Are you eating a varied diet?
Do you have any adverse affects from eating it?
If the answer to the first 3 is yes and the answer to the last one is no, then eat the sandwich.0 -
The worst part about Subway food, or any prepared restaurant food or deli meat in general, is the sodium. While the calories may be low with certain choices so they fit your daily goal, high sodium intake can mask weight loss due to water retention. Be careful of adding calories with sauces, cheese, etc. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water and getting some high potassium foods to offset and you'll probably be ok.0

Depends on what you're comparing it to. Other subs at Subway, fast food places or making your own healthier version of the sandwich....? Do you put lots of dressings/oils? If not, then it really isn't that bad. I would def eat that many carbs for lunch though and not for supper.
I love love love Subway - my downfall is the Chicken Enchilada melt with Fritos and sour cream on top!!! Yum-O!0 -
Subway has a calculator on their site - you can customize it. I however am starting to think it is wrong though as every time I eat there..I tend to lose less than expected if at all?!?!0

subway has all the nutritional info online. You can build your sub and it'll tell you the calories, fat etc.
Personally I love it and think it is a good choice when eating out.0 -
I agree--it depends what you're comparing it to.
I love the chicken enchilada melt too, but it's 500+ cals for a 6-inch flatbread. :grumble:
I love how on the competitors' commercials, they start by saying "Subway wants you to think they slice their own meat, but THEY DON'T."
Really? They want you to think that? Who on Earth EVER thought that Subway sliced their own meat?0 -

I had Subway today lol - I made sure it fit into my calories. I love Subway, but I make sure I get tons of water thoughout the day because of the sodium (as was already mentioned).0

Go to subway's website and build your sandwich the way you like it. It will give you the nutritional information, you can then enter that into the "my foods" section on MFP. When you want subway, you have it there to log.0

Subway can become Chubway really quickly. If I eat there, I stick to turkey breast with a ton of veggies on wheat.0

The sandwich you make at home will taste better, be better for you and cost less.0
